I haven't forgotten it Keaydian, I didn't need it today so I lent it to the Lord Mayor, his chauffeur had forgotten his. He is going to open a hospital or something, big media event and he didn't want to get caught dripping.

stockbunny - 26 Jan 2007 11:43 - 12762 of 24230

Ahh you love your moggies really! Wont have a word said against moggies :>)

OK lunch - it's Friday so this means I suppose I had better start the steaks
jacket tatties and salad or if you must chips, peas and mushrooms.
Always got tuna steaks for those who prefer to stay off red meat.

Usual trifle or cheese and biccies to follow and a few bottles of red around for a while anyway ;>)

Socrates - 26 Jan 2007 12:12 - 12763 of 24230

News Flash - Odd goimgs on at grand hospital opening ceremony.

During the opening ceremony at the new hospital, the Lord Mayor (LM) was making his speech and about to raise a loyal toast when it started to rain. His chauffeur was seen to produce an umbrella which he raised above the LM and opened it, whereupon the LM and the local dignatories were showered with little paper circles in abundance. Said paper circles blew widely in the wind and settled freely in the champagne glasses, adding a Christmassy feeling to the occassion.

The LM, taking exception to this occurrence, remonstrated with the chauffeur who quite reasonably took umbrage at the suggestion that he was remiss in his duties and suggested to the LM what disposal action might be taken with said umbrella.

The LM decided that a good rant was called for which was directed at the chauffeur who promptly demonstrated the practicality of his previously made suggestion.

The LM thereby obtained the dubious distinction of being the first casualty to be treated in the hospital's shiny new emergency facility. The LM, standing on his dignity (because he was unable to sit), refused further comment.

Meantime the chauffeur is missing but rumour has it that he is seeking political asylum in a foreign country.

Good morning all.

Just been informed that my TV/Broadband service from Telewest/NTL is to be called Virgin Media from now on, how come I didn't notice that going on? Looks like there may be some improvement to the service in the not too distant future.

Spaceman - 27 Jan 2007 09:41 - 12772 of 24230

Morning Socs, sounds as though the LM desereved it ;-)

Nice and sunny here in Hastings.

optomistic - 27 Jan 2007 09:55 - 12773 of 24230
