THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Part-Time London Tent Protesters Revealed

The anti-capitalist protest in London that has caused the closure of St Paul's Cathedral is only sparsely occupied at night, police cameras have revealed.

A police helicopter's thermal imaging camera showed the tent encampment was almost entirely empty overnight.

This has led to accusations that the 300-strong group of protesters are part-timers, going home to warm beds in the evenings to sleep.

Haystack - 25 Oct 2011 13:35 - 12800 of 81564

The news reports suggest that only1 in 10 actually stay i their tents over night. The rest pop back to their nice houses in Hampstead and Islington. They should remove the empty tents as litter.

skinny - 25 Oct 2011 13:39 - 12801 of 81564

Exactly - but I'm guessing they won't.!

Fred1new - 25 Oct 2011 13:40 - 12802 of 81564

Do you blame them.

Dave doesn't live in the HP, and retires to quite a few nice luxury homes, when it seems necessary.

Sometimes he is found hiding on army camps after a protest.

At least it gets the protesters in the news.

Haystack - 25 Oct 2011 13:43 - 12803 of 81564

These tented protests are just a phase. What will the next one be?

Fred1new - 25 Oct 2011 13:43 - 12804 of 81564

Hear there is more QE going to the Banks.

Why doesn't George legislate for it to go to the real economy, or does he want a scapegoat for failure.

Time for more regulations?

Anyone out there who has been diagnosed with Polymyalgia. I have had it for a year and have been on steriods - was in legs and right arm - now moved nastily to neck with associated headaches,
Would be grateful for any other experiences or advice.

MightyMicro - 25 Oct 2011 15:46 - 12806 of 81564

If this tented protest thing goes on, I think the correct Capitalist response is to go long BSLA, tent suppliers to the idle campers.

Fred1new - 25 Oct 2011 15:58 - 12807 of 81564

O.

Depending on interests of GP would suggest with your changing symptoms that you are referred "urgently" to a specialist in Rheumatology. for confirmation of diagnosis and review of treatment.

The symptoms can be controlled.

Oakapples142 - 25 Oct 2011 16:18 - 12808 of 81564

Thank you Fred - much appreciated.

Seymour Clearly - 25 Oct 2011 17:51 - 12809 of 81564

Oakapples, never had it but know a few who have had it, through my line of work. Steroids the only way, aim is to get it down to a low maintenance dose. It should be a gradually resolving condition so your experience suggests that it's not under control yet, so review needed asap as Fred says. One year on, it should be much better.

Fred1new - 25 Oct 2011 18:08 - 12810 of 81564

O,

E-mail me through Moneyam.

Fred - Thanks away for a day or so but will gratefully follow up. Seymour Clearly also thanks. Have been down to 3mg but back having a go at 10mg. Condition OK later in the day but headaches are a B nuisance.

mnamreh - 26 Oct 2011 08:42 - 12814 of 81564

.

Fred1new - 26 Oct 2011 09:48 - 12815 of 81564

O,

Sorry to bleat on.

The the change in your symptoms to headaches from peripheral muscle pains could be serious or unrelated.

The consequences of ignoring the changes may be quite severe.

At a distance it would be difficult to judge, but personally, I would suggest you have a review with necessary investigations to-day.

I hope my suspicions are incorrect and the changes are unrelated condition and of little consequence.

You can have a holiday in a few weeks time.

Obviously not a fan of Robert Mugabe, but at least on one point he was far more honest than most countries leaders.
His answer to a question about corruption in Zimbabwe.

Reply, 'At least we are openly corrupt'.

You can't argue with that!

Amazed to hear Cameron say about the Tory rebels in Mondays vote, "Theres no bad blood on my part, no rancor, no bitterness".
So that's all right then.
This to his own parties MPs after he had ordered a 3 line whip, to bully them into line, with threats of No promotion, possibility of No party backing in the next election and no doubt a few other niceties.

And I though Tony Blair was 2 faced.

skinny - 26 Oct 2011 10:33 - 12818 of 81564

And here are at least two of them!
