Went long of a few Yule Cato YULC this morning. Good news on a disposal but the chart as also looked positive for a few days.

yule%20catto%202.JPG

Trades on a miserly forward P/E of just 7.4 to end of dec 2011....way too cheap imho.

Fundies broker report looked interesting on Computacenter (below) ccc so I checked out the chart and bought a few this morning seeing the SP was in the red and had fallen since results (good time to buy i reckon if results were good, just a few days later).

Chart looks pretty solid with uptrend channel in place.

PRU - see relevant thread
i was a bit slow off the mark and only went short this morning at 532, but this has sentiment (downwards!) behind it, and for sure the markets are due for a shakeout in the none too distant future.
that shakeout may happen either when FTSE hits 5760/5770 or after the budget or when it dawns on everyone that "shit brown" will still be in office after the election - sorry to say, but it is almost impossible for this labour majority to be o'turned in a single election.

halifax - 16 Mar 2010 13:32 - 131 of 3532

cynic you obviously don't take the Daily Express!

Fred1new - 16 Mar 2010 13:33 - 132 of 3532

Will post again,

But the stocks I am looking at all seem to have positive trends and negative indicators, or the reverse.

Start to feel positive and then feel doomeddddddd.

I have a few share bets at the moment TW. and BBY. I live in hope

I noticed that some postings are smaller capitalism shares or aim.

The problem I have with these is spreads and lack of Share bets possibilities.

cynic - 16 Mar 2010 13:56 - 133 of 3532

and what did that erstwhile supporter of capital punishment have to say about PRU? .... buy, no doubt

goldfinger - 16 Mar 2010 16:46 - 134 of 3532

ahhhhhhhh yes fred the spread on small caps makes spreadbetting that little harder.

I tend to position size myself to the downside on the smaller caps so that I dont start off with such a large deficit position.

Using IG index at the moment.

hoping to be back up to full speed by next week but the cheltenham racing is stopping me at the moment

re - GAS

NMS is 50K BUT able to buy and sell around 250K EASILY

buy spread is a bit large at close but the real price for buy and sell is much smaller, allway getting well inside the spread, earlier buys were at 2.135 and sells for 2.11p

Master,, forget British Bulls for your trading ,,they say buy and sell every day ,not taking in to account spread or general conditions... Not a good pointer to make trading decisions.

re - British Bulls

We know that they are trades, just like some of us.

re - GAS

I will call it MARKET MANIPULATION

Yesterday the shares close at spread 2.10 / 2.25p, with 2 MMs at bid side

this morning opens at 2 / 2.25p

MMs did not want another day of large volume and share price UP so mark down from the start and kill the fun and get the traders stuck.

Only my conclution

Fred1new - 17 Mar 2010 11:23 - 144 of 3532

Ashtead.

Exposure USA. But dollar and pound are tied together at the moment.

I think the Fundamentals are supportive of SP., but DYOH as my interpretations are at odds with what happens.

I bought a few SBs this am. and may add a few more.

At the moment my target price is between 110 -135p, drawing up stop loss behind, if or when price over 105p

There may be resistance at 100p but had gapped this am, and if it does break 100p may shoot ahead!

I wish Moneyam had the facility for regression channels and hand drawing angular support and resistance lines. Also would be handy to have ability to draw % lines between points.

I suppose I will just have to wish harder!

Master RSI - 17 Mar 2010 11:39 - 146 of 3532

BVC
One with large retracement, but should be ready for a bounce
reasons : Large volume yesterday, Indicators rising from oversold, and closing candlestick yesterday of a Bullish Hammer ( very bullish )

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BVC&Si    18FIG.gif
Definition:
The Bullish Hammer Pattern is a significant candlestick that occurs at the bottom of a trend or during a downtrend and it is called a hammer since it is hammering out a bottom. The Bullish Hammer Pattern is a single candlestick pattern and it has a strong similarity to the Bullish Dragonfly Doji Pattern. In the case of Bullish Dragonfly Doji Pattern, the opening and closing prices are identical whereas the Bullish Hammer Pattern has a small real body at the upper end of the trading range.
