Reading today about all the holes in the latest EU summit agreement(sic).
This one tickled me especially.
One of the methods of raising the Squilions, thats so many noughts that no one actually knows how much it is, is called a Special purpose investment vehicle, or SPIV.
Remember how after the world financial problems came to the fore, with much being blamed on the toxic debts taken on by countries, institutions and private investors, investment vehicles with the words 'Special purpose investment vehicle' were deemed to be none understood, due to containing wrap packages of debt that no one, including professional investors could unravel or understand what they actually contained.
And yet, we have another SPIV being touted.
No doubt this SPIV will tempt even more mugs who will only look at the no doubt very tempting interest figure.

Definition of SPIV......... A person who makes a living by underhand dealings or swindling; black marketeer.

Shows you how acronyms can backfire.
Years ago I joined a newly formed unit called, Fast Action Response Team.
We in the unit immediately realised what we would be called, and it quickly came to pass that we where known as The Farts.
This title was as usual thought up by some overpaid wally sitting in his office.
You would have thought that anyone with half a brain would have seen that one coming.

We quickly changed it to the Fast action response squad.

Judges also heard Gilmour had taken LSD and valium before joining the protests. - Enough said.

Unless he had previous form, the sentence seems disproportionate and vindictive.

To me, his actions were "stupid", but of less consequence that some of the attempts of thieving carried out by some MPS.

If it was setting an example, it could have started at their level.

I am sure he would have paid restoration for any actual damage he inflicted, if given the chance.

Hi Aldwick, no I dont know him but know of him. I sold the busines about 3yr back although i still have 20% stake. Well 19.9 %.

Must admit this semi retired lark isnt all its made out to be. Im 39 now and bored to death with these markets. Its just a lottery at the moment.

Do a lot of fishing, but getting bored with that.

Id love say a 35 hour week doing a job like Ken barlow on coronation street . pushing supermarket trolleys. Straight up no joking. no stress etc.

Although brilliant and funny, they are undeniably true.

I do mentor in an area that is one of my main interests. I tutor advanced drivers for RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders (RoADAR). This is voluntary work.
We are not as well known as the Institute of advanced motorists (IAM) but whereas to qualified for IAM you only have 1 pass level, whereas we have 3 levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
With IAM you also stay a member as long for as you wish to pay the yearly fee, without ever having to take another test, so in effect you could pass the test years ago and still call yourself an advanced driver say 40 years later, which to my mind is ridiculous, whereas with RoADAR you have to take a re test every 3 years.

What I am always amazed at is the very few people who ever show interest in advanced driving, when it has been shown that advanced drivers tend to save on insurance, fuel, wear an tear, but most of all have far less accidents.

With RoADAR you receive as many lessons as you require for free, and are only allowed to become a member on passing the test which costs 45 for cars, 54 for M/cycles.
Membership is then 22.50 per year and that includes that re-test every 3 years, with refresher lessons.


I presume as a none profit organisation, MoneyAm rules will not mind if I put the link to the RoADAR site. Some might find it interesting.
