THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

My first thought was what on Earth is the Archbishop of Canterbury getting involved for. But then I thought - he probably knows as much as the experts.

aldwickk - 02 Nov 2011 07:51 - 12945 of 81564

Maybe his just getting on the anti capitalist band wagon.

skinny - 02 Nov 2011 07:54 - 12946 of 81564

This brings new meaning to Estate Agent jargon "The property has a wonderful aspect".

Barry caravan park cliff landslip inquiry continues

Investigations will continue into how a landslip left 15 caravans teetering on the edge of a cliff in south Wales.

Haystack - 02 Nov 2011 09:34 - 12947 of 81564

Why on earth would anyone be interested in the opinion of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Do all leaders of religious sects and believers in the paranormal and faries get to have their views on financial matters published irrespective of how little they know about it.

tabasco - 02 Nov 2011 09:39 - 12948 of 81564

And thats coming from Haystack? lol

Haystack - 02 Nov 2011 09:45 - 12949 of 81564

I suppose you think we should take advice on financial matters from fairy worshippers.

tabasco - 02 Nov 2011 09:48 - 12950 of 81564

Not at allI would just steer clear of your advice!not been too clever in the past.

Haystack - 02 Nov 2011 09:56 - 12951 of 81564

I am not giving advice. And if you are referring to Blinkx, I still think its valuation is absurd and it will crash at some point. I have no quarrels with its share price as that is based on sentiment. It is the real valuation that is wrong. Iam sure peopke willmakemoney at present on Blinkx, but some will end up losing a lot at the end. There have been so many tech stocks like Blinkx over the years that prove popular and have silly market caps. Blink is just another one.

greekman - 02 Nov 2011 09:59 - 12952 of 81564

Haystack,

Fully agree.
What a hypocritical lot the church leaders are.
The church is one of the largest land owners in the UK.
They also have a huge share portfolio, investments in property, fine art and many other areas of 'Capitalism'.
Practice what you preach (pun intended) springs to mind.

I will pray for the church to see the light.

I must add that I as a believer in fairies and the paranormal, I am slightly insulted that you couple me in the same sentence as religious fanatics.

Greek.

tabasco - 02 Nov 2011 10:04 - 12953 of 81564

OK Haystackyour continuous 3p valuation on all the BBs with various avatarsand for two years is a genuine piece of advice to all potential investors.you are the one that talks to the fairies!
Not to be trusted in any shape or form my friends!

Haystack - 02 Nov 2011 10:07 - 12954 of 81564

Not advice. Just my valuation. I have said many times that there is nothing wrong with buying Blinkx despite its silly valuation because money can be made from it in the short term before people find out what a silly company it is.

tabasco - 02 Nov 2011 10:09 - 12955 of 81564

Yerwe all buy into your sincerity.

Someone's little darlings.

Rowan Williams, as an individual and the leader of quite a substantial group of individuals, is entitled to give his opinion on economic matters.

At the least his opinions are usually thought out and not knee jerk reactions based on short term "self interest".

Also, he is CEO of quite a successful ongoing business with significant UK and over sea's exposure.

(Not sure what the employment numbers are, for his variety of "church".)

Also, his argument has quite a lot support and if the policy was implemented, "may" lead to a dampening down of a crazy market.

==================

He seems, to me, often talk more sense than the present "lame duck coven" in government.
