From ROC Oil
ROC Oil sees Mauritanian govt taking up option on 12 stake in Chinguetti field
AFX
LONDON (AFX) - Oil exploration group ROC Oil Co Ltd said it expects the Mauritanian government to exercise an option on a 12 pct stake in the offshore Chinguetti field.
'ROC believes that it is now likely that the Mauritanian Government will exercise its entitlement to acquire a 12 pct interest in the Chinguetti Field development on a prorata basis from all current Chinguetti participants prior to that entitlement lapsing on 20 November, 2004,' said ROC chief executive John Doran.
Doran added that if the government does take up its option, it will be responsible for its share of development and past exploration costs related to the field.
The biggest stake in Chinguetti is held by Australia's Woodside group of companies, which is also the operator.
Other companies with an interest in the field include Australia's Hardman Resources, BG Group PLC and Fusion Oil & Gas PLC.
Ends.
Now you all know why the price of 97mil is so high.
If Sterling are on behalf of ther Mauritannian Government buying ther 12% share, thr exploration and developement costs have to be paid as well.
No real problem with this though, this is a commercially viable field, and a good time to take the option up.
Any other views?

Mmm.....
Nothing new as you say proptrade.
Got a really nice deal at Threshers bogof Gallo Sycamore Canyon Chardonnay 8.99.
Also Turning Leaf is 4.99 which is a nice price.
Worth topping up for the weekend and Christmas.
Bought a few PRE a the price has dropped off lately. Danbury Dome is looking very promising for the 750 billion cu feet of gas. Result of that expected in 5 weeks plus they are looking to aquire European or African ventures.....
Profit locked in previously so all seems a good deal.
Not much with SEY seems to be marking time on the run up to the EGM. The we will see something!

Will do.
Word is that consolidation of smaller companies is the next viable outcome in that sector.
Your views on ESY thread to that?

Hi DD
I had a mixed case of reds delivered today from Laithwaites. Special offer 3 bottles of Rioja free 15 bottles in all 54.99. The trouble when you buy by the case is you drink more. That's why I stopped doing the booze run to France. I like drinking!
