Clean Air Power
DUAL-FUEL Combining diesel and natural gas for clear cost efficiency
Clean Air Power has pioneered the move towards natural gas by developing Dual-Fuel technologies that provide customers with diesel engine performance, cost savings and low emissions.
Clean Air Power's flagship technology is its patented Dual-Fuel system, which enables heavy duty diesel engines to operate primarily on natural gas with diesel fuel acting as a "liquid spark plug". By burning up to 90% natural gas, customers benefit from a combination of low emissions and high efficiency.
With the increasing cost of diesel fuel, stringent emissions regulation and the need for a cleaner, quieter environment, Clean Air Power receives constant requests for its technological solutions and has two main product variants for its Dual-Fuel technology:
Integrated Product
The integrated product is a solution where the Clean Air Power technology works hand in hand with the manufacturers technology, whereas the Genesis application is a more generic retro fitted solution.
Genesis Product
The Genesis product has currently been developed for the DAF CF85 and Mercedes Axor Euro III platforms in the UK.
Clean Air Powers Dual-Fuel technology has been installed on over 1,600 vehicles worldwide by over 50 companies.
With its unique Dual-Fuel technology, Clean Air Power has pioneered an immediate solution to reduce emissions and fuel costs in the truck industry. Dual-Fuel enables a 50% natural gas substitution when fitted to a diesel engine, resulting in a carbon saving of 8.4 tonnes a year, based on 200,000km annual mileage; representing a cost saving of 5p/km, or 10,000 per vehicle yearly.

The sale was over 23 times NMS, and i think there is only one MM. What i should have done was to sell in small lots.

Some good news :-)
Clean Air Power said Mitchell Corp Australia Pty Ltd has exercised its option to extend an earlier order for 50 of the company's proprietary Dual-Fuel engine systems by another twenty systems. The total incremental order value is around 0.9 mln stg bringing the total order size to 2.4 mln stg, the emissions control technology developer said.
The company also said the issues leading to the earlier-reported delays to installations under this contract were resolved under a collaborative engineering project involving the company, Mitchell and Orbital Pty Ltd.
'The project was mainly funded by the truck operators and Australia Greenhouse Office (AGO), a government body, and has resulted in many improvements to the company's Australian software,' Clean Air Power said. In addition, it said Mitchell has ordered 84 of the company's optional secondary intercooler products, and added that following completion of the collaborative engineering project, the rate of installation will now ramp up with all conversions planned to be completed by mid-2008.

More good news!
Clean Air Power has predicted that an increase in liquefied natural gas (LNG) production in Australia is likely to help sales of its dual-fuel technology. The AIM-listed developer of technology enabling heavy-duty diesel engines to run on natural gas said it should benefit from the decision by gases producer BOC to triple the production capacity of an LNG plant on the East Coast from 50 tonnes per day to 150 tonnes per day.
Clean Air's chief executive John Pettitt said: 'Clean Air Power is very encouraged that this global industrial gas organisation is recognising the clear benefits of LNG as a road fuel. Australia is a key market for our patented Dual-Fuel technology and we believe this significant investment will prove beneficial to our sales efforts on the East Coast.'
It also hailed as good news a move by Mitchell Corp Pty Ltd, one of its largest Australian customers, to exercise an option to order an extra 20 of its dual fuel units following its initial order of 50 units announced in January. 'The company believes this represents a clear indication that the wider market is reacting positively to the increased sales momentum being achieved by Clean Air Power's Dual-Fuel technology,' Clean Air said in a statement.
BOC is part of Linde AG and the upgrade of the East Coast plant, due to enter service in August 2009, follows Linde's development of another LNG plant, due to open in 2008, in Western Australia.
In a separate statement, Clean Air said it was granted a significant US patent entitled Method and Apparatus for Controlling Transition between Operating Modes in a Multimode Engine, covering the future development of its Dual-Fuel technology, on Sept 18. A corresponding European patent application is in progress, it said. 'It is Clean Air Power's strategy to develop and patent significant elements of Dual-Fuel to ensure future protection of its technology to deliver an efficient, cleaner and lower cost alternative to conventional diesel fuel,' the group said in a statement.

Clean Air Power said it has received a new order worth 0.5 mln stg to provide nine catalytic converters for a major manufacturer of gas compression equipment in the US. This order is due for delivery in the first half of 2008 and will further strengthen the company's emission reduction business, it said.
The company said the contract increases its order book for the coming year which now stands at 2.7 mln stg for delivery in 2008, representing a significant improvement on the same period last year when the order book was less than 0.5 mln.
Clean Air said it expects to enter into a formal cooperation agreement in the first half whereby its Dual-Fuel technology is adopted by a major manufacturer. It added, at the end of 2007, it had 1.8 mln stg in cash exceeding its expectation of 1.3 mln.
'The company enters 2008 with a strong order book and we expect to maintain this momentum going forward,' chief executive John Pettitt said.

Some good news for a change:
Volvo Powertrain is to use Clean Air Power's Dual-FuelTM technology in truck engines.
Clean Air Power said the system will cut greenhouse gas emissions reductions and bring significant fuel cost savings compared with standard diesel engines. It said Dual-FuelTM trucks would be around 20% more efficient than equivalent spark ignited natural gas engines.

Market likes this news, but then I looked at the 10-year sp - - WOW!
This has been a disaster for L-T investors reaching nearly 4 before the DotCom world tore apart.
Recently there has been Dilution (and with Warants) to prop up their finances.
NOTE also these are lowly-rated dollar/1000 stocks, being traded at a high multiple, even now. Furthermore I don't understand why Dollar-co's aren't registered in the US.
EDIT(26Oct09)-Grief this is nearly40p for a lot of "hope" and a 1-cent share...looks overpriced as well as "over-here" . . . . and just how many pounds of profit are made, now that diesel is reaching another peak? . . . . Bargepoles...

Some more good news and welcome relief for the SP:
Clean Air Power has signed a letter of intent with another major global truck manufacturer. The letter outlines a development agreement to deliver a joint demonstration vehicle designed to establish the technical and commercial viability of a jointly produced dual fuel vehicle with the possibility of formal contract and commercial production should the development project prove successful.
The board is also pleased to confirm that it is continuing its active discussions with Volvo and will update shareholders on further progress towards the formal contracts of both projects in due course.

In at 8.65p today.

A buy in this weeks shares mag - Full year results due Apr 4. The Lancashire company's Duel-fuel system allows heavy trucks to operate on a hybrid combination of natural gas and diesel which cuts costs and slashes emissions. The systems are sold toboth the new build and retro-fit markets either directly or through third party sellers. In 2011 Clean Air power sold 70 systems to heavy vehical fleet operators, but that jumped to 300 last year. Over a 100 system sales in January this year put it well on target to hit 800 by the end of December and get the firm into the black.
Many of the new sales are in the USA, where analysts estimate a fleet of 660,000
heavy trucks in operation. They have already struck an important manufacturing partnership with Volvo, one of Swedens biggest truck makers.

Successful Placing to raise £5 million
Clean Air Power (AIM: CAP), the developer and global leader in Dual-Fuel engine management software for heavy duty vehicles, is pleased to announce the placing of 51,948,000 new Common Shares at a placing price of 9.625 pence per share to raise approximately £5 million before expenses (the "Placing").
The Company is particularly pleased that two new strategic investors took part in the Placing; Ervington Investments Ltd ("Ervington"),
whose ultimate beneficial owner is Roman Abramovich, and Ms Zara Shvidler. Together, these two investors committed to subscribe, if necessary, for the entire Placing which contributed significantly to the successful fundraising. As a result of significant institutional interest, the subscriptions of each of Ervington and Ms Shvidler were scaled back and they will each have an interest in approximately 1.5 per cent. of the enlarged share capital of the Company.
