cynic - 20 Aug 2012 08:55 - 1304 of 2393

i would expect any attack to be much more subtle than missiles and bomber squadrons ..... the israelis have already shown themselves very adept at cyber warfare and similar ..... an sas/mossad operation against one of the major installations would certainly not be out of the question nor so obviously overt as to trigger general carnage in the region

at least as potentially scary is the aftermath of the inevitable demise of the assad regime in syria .... that is likely to be a real pandora's box

mcgrath1958 - 20 Aug 2012 09:04 - 1305 of 2393

You right about Syria Cynic , i not a war monger but some thing has to be done about Iran , they ben stringing the West along for years about it's peace full etc! Funny how they wont alow the Atomic Inspectors in to alay our fears, bomb the Fucker's back to the Stone age, not the people just the Mullah's and Goverment!!!

greekman - 20 Aug 2012 09:39 - 1306 of 2393

Do the powers that be ever learn.
Remember how they allowed Hitler's Germany to build up their military power whilst they listened to all the peace makers.
Peace in our time and all that.

Some countries rulers only understand forceful actions as anything less indicates weakness that they exploit!

mcgrath1958 - 20 Aug 2012 10:04 - 1307 of 2393

Greekman , your so right about weakness from past History unfortuately , and Iran is exploiting the West's weakness big time , afraid to say with Obarma and EU Liberal's in Power no change with Syria/Iran. The French are pushing for force over Assad , and we helping with Itelligence from our base in Cyprus to the FSA !

markymar - 20 Aug 2012 10:05 - 1308 of 2393

Some intresting people in FI at moment one company is Knights Consulting Ltd.

cynic - 20 Aug 2012 10:37 - 1309 of 2393

perhaps Knights Templar would be more use to scare the Argies!

grannyboy - 20 Aug 2012 11:43 - 1310 of 2393

No just the threat of the presence of submarines/ new Destroyers should keep the argies to giving out jaw jaw and not war war..

coeliac1 - 20 Aug 2012 12:32 - 1311 of 2393

mcgrath you can't blame the EU for lack of action on Iran/Syria. You need to look at the Chinese and Russians for that.
UK are looking pathetic over Assange and Ecuador as a result we have managed to ensure the whole of South America is united against us and nobody will take us seriously on pretty much anything from now on, and you can't blame them. Whether destroyers in the Falkands will make any difference is a moot point. Let's get some oil first and see how powerful we are.

mcgrath1958 - 20 Aug 2012 12:52 - 1312 of 2393

Coe 1 , i know i didn't mention the Chinese/Russians backing Assad , you are of course spot on. Trouble is Syria is to Russia what Israel is to the US. Yes i agree on your Sth American angle against us! I know we gone on to Geo Politics lately on here , not a bad thing whilst we are waiting this drill bit to hopefully discover lots Oil on these two drilling programs.

greekman - 21 Aug 2012 07:32 - 1313 of 2393

When it comes to the Falklands and the Argentinian problem, the only consideration that will decide what action is required will be what that action means to politicians careers.
If the Argies do spit their dummies out big time, there is no doubt that the UK would act forcefully, as not to do so would be the end of Cameron and his already weak coalition government.
Most politicians always put themselves, first second and last and have always done so.

cynic - 21 Aug 2012 12:27 - 1314 of 2393

shares generally misbehave with good reason and this one is certainly now on amber alert

HARRYCAT - 21 Aug 2012 12:49 - 1315 of 2393

I don't agree. I fully expected this to drift much further than it has while investors wait for news. There is no reason that I can see why it has maintained it's high valuation during drilling.

mcgrath1958 - 21 Aug 2012 12:55 - 1316 of 2393

MM's probably keeping this higher due to the big potential if there is a successful stike on either drill, that's my take , i could be bloody wrong! We all just have to wait as you do with this stuff!

cynic - 21 Aug 2012 13:26 - 1317 of 2393

as far as i can determine, there should be news within the next couple of weeks - not long, so not good though nothing panicworthy

cynic - 22 Aug 2012 09:00 - 1318 of 2393

prudence and common sense ruled ...... sold all bar my initial modest holding ..... took a loss but who cares and that is the name of the game ..... market does not enthuse at all and shall also be away next week and out of direct contact

Balerboy - 22 Aug 2012 09:15 - 1319 of 2393

get on yr bike cynic......hope it's better weather where your going.,.

Proselenes - 22 Aug 2012 12:15 - 1320 of 2393

Last week you had sold all but kept a "small holding" and now you sold more and have "a modest holding".

I am lost, modest is bigger than small and you keep selling but keep also "have some left over"........... LOL

Why not just say how many shares you have left and let people know - stops the imaginary sells but "still got some" (in case of good news !!)...

I have 400K FOGL, not selling any of them until after the Loligo drilling results.... so how many shares do you have cynic ?

I am glad I am on holiday, the bulletin boards are going downhill at the moment, you can tell its summer holiday time.............

cynic - 22 Aug 2012 09:00 - 1318 of 1319
prudence and common sense ruled ...... sold all bar my initial modest holding .

required field - 22 Aug 2012 12:21 - 1321 of 2393

Have I missed the third world war or something ?.....

cynic - 22 Aug 2012 12:38 - 1322 of 2393

arsehole - i have 5,000 left which i deem more than sufficient and indeed, arguably i should have sold the lot ...... i could just as easily tell you 50,000 or 500,000, just as you like to say (pretend?) that you stupidly (imvho!) have 400,000

cynic - 22 Aug 2012 12:39 - 1323 of 2393

no RF ..... MrP is just a complete and utter areshole some of the time - others would say all of the time
