VOG is presently drilling Well 104 in its West Medvezhye field, and expected to reach depth in 4 weeks from spud date of 30th June, that makes 27th July(this week).
Results of testing will be sometime mid/late August, with a positive outcome
it could be HUGH.
With estimates of 134BILLION cubic metres of GAS and 201 Million barrels of Gas
Condensate,it will be a Company Maker. The field is in the area of the largest gas field in the WORLD.
Other assets include Kemerkol in Kazakhstan, with C1 reserves of 8.7MBO
and C2 reserves of7.8MBO. Another acquistion is Tamdykol with potental
reserves of 34MBO, it also has interest in 2 blocks in the North Sea.
You can check it out on www.uk-wire.com, and its own site of www.victoriaoilandgas.com.
It has excellent management team led by Kevin Foo, who hopes to turn it into
a Mid Cap Company(500m+) in the not to distant future.
As i stated earlier in the post, Drilling is almost complete so it won't be long to Lift Off?
Well, Well worth checking out.

Well 103 Results Confirm Hydrocarbon Presence at West Medvezhye Project, Russia

Three hydrocarbon-bearing intervals totalling over 55 feet of net pay
sands confirmed by petrophysical interpretation of open-hole logs
Intervals located in or around the Bazhenov shale, the source rock for
some of the largest gas and condensate accumulations in the world
Well to be put on test for 90 - 120 days to determine accumulation
characteristics and size

Victoria Oil & Gas Plc ('Victoria' or the 'Company')(ticker: VOG), the AIM-
quoted oil and gas company focused on the Former Soviet Union, today announces
results of petrophysical interpretation based on the open-hole logging at Well
103 at its West Medvezhye gas and condensate project in Russia.

The well was drilled to a total depth of 3,900 meters and open-hole logs were
obtained with petrophysical interpretations generated by the Company's technical
team, Baker Atlas and Krasnoyarskgeophysika.

The log data obtained from the wellbore and subsequent interpretation has
yielded the following results:

Interval 3,730 - 3,737 metres: hydrocarbon-bearing sands were observed
in the Bazhenov horizon with hydrocarbon saturation of 50% and
porosity of 11%.

Interval 3,794 - 3,799 metres: hydrocarbon-bearing sands were observed
in the Jurassic (J2) horizon with hydrocarbon saturation of 75% and
porosity of 15%.

Interval 3,812 - 3,817 metres: hydrocarbon-bearing sands were observed
in the J2 horizon with hydrocarbon saturation of 75% and porosity of
17%.

The logs give a strong indication of the presence of gas or gas condensate,
however, the Company cannot rule out the possibility of independent oil
accumulations as several wells in nearby licence areas have produced crude oil
from the J2 horizon. The horizons indicating hydrocarbon shows are either within
or close to the Bazhenov shale. This is the source rock for the Nadym-Pur
hydrocarbon province, which hosts some of the largest gas and gas condensate
fields in the world.

On the basis of these results, casing will be set to a depth of 3,880 metres and
mobilisation will begin for testing to determine reservoir productivity,
characteristics and reserve volume size. This testing will take place for a
minimum period of 90 to 120 days and the Company anticipates commencement before
the end of the year.

The Company will also be using the subsurface data gathered from this well to
refine its interpretation of its existing seismic data. This will remove some of
the uncertainty inherent in the identification and selection of the targets for
the further exploration of the licence area.

Commenting today, Managing Director William Kelleher said, 'Today's results are
extremely important for Victoria as they confirm the presence of hydrocarbons at
Well 103 in over 55 feet of net pay sands. These same intervals produce from
adjacent wells in nearby licence areas and the subsurface data we have obtained
will greatly enhance our analysis of the new exploration targets to be drilled
this winter. Presently the well is stable, in good condition and will be cased
prior to extensive testing to confirm the nature and overall size of each
accumulation as well as potential productivity.'

Good to see that the statement is sensibly worded rather than gung-ho ...... will be interesting to see how sp reacts, not only today but over the coming week(s)

skyhigh - 12 Oct 2006 07:28 - 1310 of 2511

guess the reaction should be favourable ! but not expecting any fireworks with the sp! hope I'm wrong though!

soul traders - 12 Oct 2006 11:49 - 1311 of 2511

Morning all. The SP reaction is cautious rather than excited, but could bode well for a steady rise in the SP rather than the volatility we have been seeing. Or am I just being far too optimistic and this is going to drift some more until those test results come out?

Anyway, I'm happy with having hung in there and am optimistic that there will be more upside to these shares.

maddoctor - 12 Oct 2006 11:51 - 1312 of 2511

take a look over the other side , seems to me nobody can make head nor tail of the news

soul traders - 12 Oct 2006 12:02 - 1313 of 2511

MD, I think that's the reson why I can't be bothered to read the thread on the other side - about 1,800 posts by people scratching their heads or positing extreme theories about why one should buy or sell.

VOG has found hydrocarbons at the bottom of a deep hole in Russia and needs to spend time testing to see in what kind of quantities these can be brought to the surface. It's as simple as that. Or have I missed something?

IMO there are too many people who expect the SP to treble on the release of an RNS and who get all lost and confused when this doesn't happen. They need to do their homework.

hlyeo98 - 12 Oct 2006 13:28 - 1314 of 2511

Good news but why is it not moving up???

maddoctor - 12 Oct 2006 13:34 - 1315 of 2511

soul traders , the oil man on the traders thread has said wait for the testing , nothing much to be read into the rns , well thats what i think he said :-))

lizard - 12 Oct 2006 13:35 - 1316 of 2511

three hydrocarbon zones of 55ft total net pay. good sign. i also have been following gold oil (goo) who have reported from drilling two hydrocarbon bearing sands zones of 250ft gross and 315ft gross (565ft) total. to be production tested over next few weeks.

seawallwalker - 12 Oct 2006 14:10 - 1317 of 2511

Big Al on Traders said:-

"Can't read much into VOG other than what they state. Horizons are thin, but without knowing the geology you can't be sure of the extent acreage wise. EWT will tell them more. Price reaction probably about right IMO, but then WTFDIK? ;-) "

Big Al - 12 Oct 2006 15:51 - 1318 of 2511

I didn't say that did I? ;-))

cynic - 12 Oct 2006 18:28 - 1319 of 2511

i for one shall continue to hold ..... i have a "sensible" holding, which if all goes well could be worth quite a tidy sum i dare say, and if all goes pear shaped, nasty but far from terminal

soul traders - 12 Oct 2006 19:02 - 1320 of 2511

MadDoctor, Big Al is right, but I'd certainly take today's news as an encrouaging sign to hold on until the testing is complete (unless I really wanted to cut down my overweight risky holding and pump it into SOLA instead, which might happen!).

cynic - 12 Oct 2006 19:40 - 1321 of 2511

or even good old Petrofac (PFC i think) which continues it steady upward climb

Big Al - 13 Oct 2006 08:17 - 1322 of 2511

Hmm, back to where it was before yesterday's news, although you could argue there was a leak late Weds and it isn't back that far yet.

maddoctor - 13 Oct 2006 09:59 - 1323 of 2511

comment over the other side " consider the zone between 3100 and 3500 metres , primary targets revealed no hydrocarbons"

not checking 14k of postings to see if this is true but perhaps somebody following more closely would like to comment

maddoctor i have re-pasted the rns no mention of above that i can see

maddoctor - 13 Oct 2006 10:27 - 1325 of 2511

Woodie , his implication was that they have only found secondary targets , still no wiser :-((

WOODIE - 13 Oct 2006 10:40 - 1326 of 2511

agree thats why the market is still not sure about the news, some muppets on the other side see an rns then expect a jump in the s/price of about 20% when it does not happen they wonder why.

cynic - 13 Oct 2006 11:50 - 1327 of 2511

quite so Woodie ..... for my part, i was more than pleased to see a sensible and conservative RNS ...... with the shares dropping back i am sorely tempted to buy again but do not want to get overweight through greed
