Youll all recall the Blogs musings on Nostra Terra Oil & Gas at the height of the Basher attack last year. Well we havent been idle or taken our eyes off the company ! And it is with great pleasure that I now find myself having to eat some humble pie.
The position of the Blog on Nostra has been to wait and see which way the wind was blowing vis-a-vis all the allegations swirling around the internet. As Ive stated many times I have no personal axe to grind here and I genuinely respect Matt Lofgran who after having been installed as the new CEO set about initiating a full fundamental review of the company.
I have spoken to many here re the company and I have been in email/telephone contact with Nostra over the last 6 months or so trying to evaluate how Lofgran has been performing; ergo Nostra.
To say that the CEO has been putting in a decent performance doesnt really do him justice. Lofgran has excelled over the last 3/4 months the recent announcement of a parting of the waves with Hewitt now gives Nostra a thumping $1.2 million dollars once the agreement is closed and full operational control of Boxberger and Bloom with a 100% working interest.
They have also dipped their toes into an agreement with New Century Exploration re Vintage Hills although these are small by industry standards it is my understanding that these small Bread and Butter investments are designed to bring incremental revenues into their coffers as well as establishing Nostra with a foothold in the areas of operations they also have the added advantage of allowing Nostra to build up industry relationships.
But they are not key to Nostras strategy. I asked Matt Loftgran this question in a 2 hour telephone conversation
Q/ Considering the small WI in some of Nostras interests, Vintage Hills etc Does the company believe that this strategy represents the way forward for Nostra?
A/ No, this is not our strategy. Taking small non-op positions serve several purposes; the return, the information, relationships, and more. The relationship is an important element. It gives us a chance, with a relatively small investment, to see how the other party operates in order to evaluate a bigger potential relationship. On every small investment we still spend considerable time to evaluate all aspects of the investment as were always looking beyond the one well.
Our focus is to go into existing producing fields, take them horizontal to revalue the field, then monetize through various options. While this may not always be through taking a field horizontal, we do believe that this is where were best suited to make the biggest impact and create shareholder value. We are currently evaluating several candidates, which include producing assets and new leases. Ownership will range from 25-100% WI with our preference being towards operating.
Now by my calculations the company are generating approximately $3000/$4000 net per day from their various interests and with cash in the bank of just under 1,000,000 as of June 10th interims with a further $1.2 million dollars on its way from Hewitt this gives Nostra a healthy cash pile given their relatively small size. So it looks and feels to me that reading between the lines Nostra are in the market for further acquisitions which will almost certainly increase their BOPD this year 2011. This was confirmed to me by a source who expects their BOPD to significantly increase through-out 2011 both by further acquisitions and increased production from Nostras current assets particularly Bloom and Boxberger.
Now heres some very good pointers as to how well the company have been performing over the last 3 months or so.
1/ Nostra Terra Oil & Gas are DEBT FREE.
2/ BOPD is expected to increase significantly this year (2011)
3/ Nostra are rumoured to be opening offices in Dallas TX this year.
4/The share price is in the ascendency.
5/ Further acquisitions are rumoured to be close to agreement.
6/ A whisper of an institutional buyer.
Now take into account that the SP is still way under-value and you have all the right ingredients for further increases here this year.
They are increasingly looking likely to at the very least double possibly treble from where they now sit over the coming weeks and months expect further good news from Nostra. The future is getting significantly brighter!
They should be trading at 2.5p with a 12 month 5p target. Woefully under-value as of today!
I will as of now upgrade them.
Well done to the Nostra Terra Board. Keep up the good work!
Viva!

Vintage Hills Well Successful
4 March 2010
Nostra Terra Oil and Gas Company plc (AIM: NTOG) is pleased to announce the results of the Agnello #1 horizontal well in the Vintage Hills prospect unit. The Company has a 1.2% working interest before payout (1.0% after payout) in Vintage Hills, which is located within the established Giddings oil and gas field in Brazos County, Texas.
Initial flow tests from the target Austin Chalk formation, taken in 1-hour intervals, started on 26 February 2011. During the 3-days of testing the range in production was from 402 barrels of oil equivalent* ('boe') to 139 boe.
Flow tests confirm a well's producibility and provide some indication, though not definitive, of its likely production performance. Austin Chalk wells typically deliver rapid payout while having relatively steep decline curves, and Nostra Terra will provide an update on the well's ongoing productivity in due course.
The Agnello #1 well, operated by New Century Exploration, Inc., was drilled to a vertical depth of 10,400 feet followed by a horizontal section extending approximately 4,000 feet into the one of the Austin Chalk zones. Further lateral sections may be drilled in future into the other Austin Chalk zones, which are also known to be oil-bearing. , Additional pay zones have been logged from previous drilling within the Vintage Hills unit in the deeper Eagle Ford Shale, Buda and Georgetown formations.
This Vintage Hills prospect is Nostra Terra's second participation in an Austin Chalk well, following its acquisition of a 2% interest last year in a horizontal redevelopment well in Lee County, Texas, which achieved payout in just 35 days.
Matt Lofgran, CEO of Nostra Terra, said: "We are pleased that the Agnello #1 well has confirmed the presence of commercial oil and gas in the first zone we targeted within the Vintage Hills prospect, and by the initial flow rates which are in line with our expectations. The natural gas in this field sells at a premium to market rates which will also lead to a quicker payout."
He added: "The results give us further confidence as we pursue our basic strategy of winning new oil from old fields - through careful screening and prioritisation of projects, and through the use of leading-edge horizontal drilling techniques. We see opportunities to apply this strategy effectively and on a growing scale in other established sandstone and carbonate reservoirs."
The technical information within this announcement has been reviewed by Alden McCall, the Company's Chief Operating Officer, a Certified Petroleum Geologist and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
*Barrels of oil equivalent are calculated as 1 barrel of oil per 5,800 cubic feet of gas.

i wonder how many peeps will get burnt here again today - that hpi agreement is not worth much was 75% stake now 100% --- of not much boe! never mind sure there will be sheep led to a loss here!
US-focused explorer Nostra Terra Oil & Gas Company plc has split with the operator of its Kansas properties, where it says production so far has been below expectations.
The move follows a review of redevelopment operations on the properties, including engineering practices and operational efficiency, and discussions with operator Hewitt Petroleum, Inc (HPI).
The parties have entered into a settlement agreement to end their relationship.
Three properties within the Central Kansas Uplift are being redeveloped: Hoffman, in which Nostra Terra has a 25% working interest and which has two producing wells; and Boxberger and Bloom, in both of which Nostra Terra has a 75% working interest before payout, with two and three producing wells respectively.
Nostra Terra will acquire the interests of HPI and related entities in the Boxberger and Bloom properties, giving it a 100% stake. Under a newly formed operating company, it will operate both properties. The group will assign to HPI its remaining interests in all other HPI-operated assets - Hoffman, the undeveloped adjoining acreage within the Trapp field and the Koelsch property, and its interest in the Liberty #1 exploration well.
Nostra Terra will receive $1.2m in cash from the HPI entities, including $0.2m in respect of the sale of its interest in the Liberty well.
CEO Matt Lofgran said, 'Assuming operatorship of the Boxberger and Bloom properties will provide us with greater control over the pace, cost and technical aspects of field activities.
'We continue to believe there is scope to improve the performance of these two properties. In the coming months we plan to carry out additional work designed to improve the productivity of the existing wells and this work will be scoped during the closing period.'
