Morrisons on the way back from the dead (MRW)

Kivver - 22 Dec 2005 16:16

Not the most exciting share, but with safeway conversion now complete (and how much better the old safeway stores are now) the shares should start to come back. Already started a nice rise from a recent low. Costs for conversions will still hold the price back but when that is out of the way, should be be nice. 190p

cynic .i have done most things in life .i here these people complain they have no money for food petrol and heating but they can have sky and mobile on and talk all day . it is a bloody joke .stop all benefits .they should only be for the disabled
and if they can not find a job then put them to do cleaning around where they live
do work at hospitals old peoples homes if they do not then let them starve

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 08:28 - 132 of 508

tanks - you have friends on the gaza thread i think lol! ..... actually, i don't disagree with much of your underlying logic, but believe me, jobs are in very short supply even if you have a good education, and totally dire if you do not ..... for sure some play the system, but the majority genuinely try very hard to find gainful employment

TANKER - 13 Apr 2011 08:34 - 133 of 508

cynic. i would say that 80% do not want work .

have added a few more this morning . 300p plus is on its way .and a nice div for the
next 4 years it will be over 4.75% next year
cynic i will have enough 100k next tues hope they do not go up to much this week
will put it all in these good return and growth. and safe

TANKER - 13 Apr 2011 08:35 - 134 of 508

but remmember it is only 35k before 40p tax but 70k for hus and wife

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 08:56 - 135 of 508

in that case you're very seriously out of tune with reality ....

2 of my 3 children have been made redundant 2/3 times each over the last couple of years .... both have really good degrees yet my daughter in particular found it unbelievably difficult to get a job in her field and it's not particularly esoteric ..... children of one of my clients who are not so fortunately educated, struggled for over a year - one for nearly 2 - to find even menial jobs like driving or working as builders' labourers

clearly your children have been more fortunate

TANKER - 13 Apr 2011 09:05 - 136 of 508

cynic .yes both of mine have there own business .my grandson is at uni he is going to be a maths teacher he also runs a gym and leasure center he comes home on friday and goes to the centre all weekend and loves it and they al iike him . my grand daughter is a artist and going to start her own business . but hope your children find there future . i have thought about starting a small company for something else to do i could get plenty of work in building and could employ about 8 .

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 09:48 - 137 of 508

art as in fine art or as in designer?

fortunately all 3 of my children are gainfully employed - grandson excused as he's only 6 months old (but claiming incapacity benefit already)!

TANKER - 13 Apr 2011 12:09 - 138 of 508

designer . just back my local mrw it was packed . i spent over 120

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 12:18 - 139 of 508

and jolly good luck to her, especially if in fashion ..... very high mortality rate, and an awful lot more to running your own biz than just having talent (as i know you know) ..... furthermore, and i expect you've budgetted for it, she's going to need very significant financial support in that field!

TANKER - 13 Apr 2011 12:38 - 140 of 508

cynic . i have more than enough she can have what shre likes but she is no fool

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 13:08 - 141 of 508

if you had private e-mail i'ld write to you at length ..... my daughter is in fashion having graduated ex St Martins, and as you should know "being no fool" is a million miles away from having the expertise to run a fashion biz

TANKER - 13 Apr 2011 13:17 - 142 of 508

cynic . iwill let her get on with it her mother my daughter is nt daft she as 6 shops . but not in fashion letting and estate all in the south doing very well

TANKER - 13 Apr 2011 13:20 - 143 of 508

.

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 13:38 - 146 of 508

harry - this one's a bit easier to follow ..... important bit is sustained break through 200 dma, though possible resistance at 286

HARRYCAT - 13 Apr 2011 13:44 - 147 of 508

Am aiming for 3 then out. If I get the divi then fine, if not at least made some good profit. When it goes ex-divi I expect the sp to head back to 250/260p pdq!

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 14:13 - 148 of 508

why should it?

HARRYCAT - 13 Apr 2011 14:38 - 149 of 508

Because historically it has, as per the graph. MRW seems to be stuck within a fairly tight trading range.

TANKER - 13 Apr 2011 14:53 - 150 of 508

harry remember they are buying back 1b of shares over next 3 years
