From the RNS 12 Oct 06:

Well to be put on test for 90 - 120 days to determine accumulation
characteristics and size.

Thus it will be mid Jan or Feb 07 before we will know the extent of the find. Some may consider this a long time to wait for positive news, but depends upon whether investors have a short, medium or long term strategy.

cynic - 16 Oct 2006 15:31 - 1334 of 2511

any of those as far as i am concerned! .... have yet to work out whether greed will get the better of my brain at these levels!

Victoria Oil & Gas Plc

17 October 2006

Issue of 20 Million Convertible Bonds

Victoria announces the private placement of up to 20 million of Secured
Guaranteed Convertible Bonds due 2009
Proceeds to be used for the Company's on-going exploration and development
programmes in Russia and Kazakhstan

Further to the announcement made on 7 September, 2006 Victoria Oil & Gas Plc
('Victoria' or the 'Company') announces today the closing of the private
placement of up to 20 million of Secured Guaranteed Convertible Bonds (the
'Bonds') to fund the exploration and development programmes of its assets in
Russia and Kazakhstan. Victoria today has issued 11.5 million Bonds, with an
option to issue an additional 8.5 million of Bonds in the next 90 days subject
to Shareholder approval. The placement of the Bonds was managed by Jefferies
International Limited ('Jefferies') acting as Sole Placement Agent.

Proceeds of the Bonds will be used to finance the Company's exploration and
production programmes at its assets in Russia and Kazakhstan. Victoria has
announced that an interpretation of open-hole logs from Well 103 at its West
Medvezhye gas and condensate project had confirmed the presence of hydrocarbons
in three potentially productive intervals. Following this discovery, the Company
will begin immediate mobilisation for testing of the intervals and further
analysis of its next exploration targets

The Bonds were privately placed at 100 per cent of the principal amount and are
denominated in Sterling. The Bonds bear a coupon of 2.5 per cent per annum until
17 April, 2007 and 6.25 per cent per annum thereafter, mature in 2009 and are
convertible in to ordinary shares of the Company. The initial conversion price
was set at a 4 per cent premium to a price determined in a pricing period
leading up to closing. The Bonds also contain other terms, including a price
readjustment provision, restrictions on issuances of certain future debt and
anti-dilution protection in the event of certain future issuances of ordinary
shares.

The Company has also secured a floating rate exchangeable note facility with ING
Bank N.V., (the 'ING Facility'), which provides for finance up to a maximum of
25 million on a draw down basis. The Company's ability to draw down on the ING
Facility is restricted until early 2007 by the terms of the Bonds, (please see
Appendix for further information).

Commenting today, Chairman Kevin Foo said, 'We are approaching a critical period
in Victoria's development with testing of our new discovery at Well 103, the
drilling of up to three further exploration wells at West Medvezhye in Russia
and development of Kemerkol in Kazakhstan. This financing has secured our
ability to complete our current development programmes and puts us in a strong
position as we head towards 2007.'

thats very good news. No need for a placing then.

soul traders - 18 Oct 2006 12:00 - 1337 of 2511

I'd be interested to know more about the conversion proce of the bonds, though, as clearly a small amount of dilution will still arise.

FWIW I have decided to take a break from VOG - sold my shares on Monday and bought SYM as I am hoping that this will enjoy a strong run in the near future, whereas I see VOG trading sideways for a bit. We shall see . . .

bingobingham - 19 Oct 2006 08:06 - 1338 of 2511

soul, I think you've done the sensible thing. It's the only stock in my portfolio that has made such a loss. I didn't have a stop loss in place, when I really should have. I still believe West Med will come up trumps for those who wait.

cynic - 19 Oct 2006 08:13 - 1339 of 2511

bingo .... thoroughly concur ...... even those who drilled the famous Saudi Dome didn't hit a gusher every time .... in fact, even the very best in the very best locations consider themselves very lucky to achieve strike rate in excess of 50% .... perhaps the biggest worry for VOG is the potential political interference, though indications are that they have greased the right palms in one way or another.

i am staying put

soul traders - 19 Oct 2006 12:24 - 1340 of 2511

Don't worry, I shall be keeping an eye on this one.

VOG mentioned in Shares today...stated that it may take about 90 days for further news on amount of reserves. Also noticed that Shares has no column of BUY shares this week. Maybe it is because that their previous tips have not live up to their expectations.

maddoctor - 20 Oct 2006 11:10 - 1343 of 2511

small caps have been caned and Shares has recommended many

cynic - 20 Oct 2006 11:12 - 1344 of 2511

very happy for VOG to be prudent and quiet and sensible until they have something solid to announce

robvernon - 24 Oct 2006 12:40 - 1345 of 2511

Can anyone shed some light on this?, I can't find reference to Barclays holding previously (I have probably just missed it).
If they do hold, have they increased or reduced?
If they didn't hold before, this is good news.
Thanks,
Rob.

It's all gone quiet...are you all peering down the hole of 103 to try and see what's there ;-)
Can anyone shed some light on the Barclays holding?
Thanks.

cynic - 25 Oct 2006 14:50 - 1347 of 2511

VOG have already said there will be no news until end this year or early next.

skyhigh - 25 Oct 2006 15:43 - 1348 of 2511

Grim isn't it !

cynic - 25 Oct 2006 16:18 - 1349 of 2511

no ..... if you believe in the company, this is not a bad level at which to buy more if that is your inclination ..... i probably have enough already, but if sp falls to say 70/75, then greed may get the better of me ..... the likes of VOG are often driven by sentiment and (overexcited) news, so as VOG decline to go down that route, drift is to be expected

HARRYCAT - 08 Nov 2006 16:16 - 1350 of 2511

Up nearly 9% in the last couple of hours! Are we expecting news???

janetbennison - 08 Nov 2006 17:28 - 1351 of 2511

i am still holding 70000 of these shares. I am on a terrific loss on these. Lets hope there is good news to come. I had stopped looking at this one for a while. I can still remember the day they went up .80 pence in one day. this was on good oil find. good luck all holding.
