If they don't get the news out this week I can see us testing 23p.
Credibility shot to pieces on this one.

The latest news from Bondi while hopefully successful will help, although nothing
to get excited about. Something i just read which is a worry,COP the major has pulled out. Not sure how true this is(still a rumour) but would be a real blow to the propects of this field.

Sounds good today. Will wait and see, though. It wouldn't be the first red herring causing a smell. They're running a tieback string on the other well to have to pressure rating to frac. Seems sensible. ;-)

Big Al,
I'm interested in something. When you worked in the Austin chalks, did you do any long horizontals. If so did you use conventional mud motor or rotary steerable? Also if you did, did they use water based mud or oil based mud? Third was the Austin chalk normally drilled with water-based or oil-based (where the old angle of the dangle) is not a concern (ie near vertical).
Thanks, in advance

John,
Back then rotary steerables didn't exist so it was motors. WBM from memory. Not sure OBM is OK onshore US. I guess the latter answers #3.
Not sure what you mean by long. 1000 - 2000 ft were about the norm if I remember.
In the late 80's / early 90's it was a big play. To be honest, it's one I beleive was extensivle played out. To that extent what remains is scraps in my view, hence the belief EME will get a wee bit if they're lucky. It'll let them tick over at best. Personally I think it's a flaw in the business plan for amking EME a bigger outfit. All their acreage, be it Texas, California or whatever is all for scraps, nothing more. So far it's playing out that way.
Anyway, where are you these days. Me SNS. EO. doing well ain't they? ;-)))))

Al,
Funny thing about the States though is start with a small market cap, get enough scraps and you can sell out with a big increase in company value. Apparently EME's acreage is in a fairly neglected part of the Austin chalks. Presumably earlier wells drilled in the same general area had been bummers and the area had been written off. Same sort of even happened in the North Sea, everybody thought all the decent sized fields had been found then along came Edinburgh Oil & Gas with a share in the Buzzard field.
Anyway EME is a complete speculation nothing more.
Currently working on land job near Lincoln, then back to the North Sea.
DGO doing well ain't they? ;-))))) Has a lot more to come if they get a market for their rather large gas resources which is beginning to look very possible.
