I'm probably wrong but if there is an RNS out tomorrow and the news is good I would expect the sp to be firming up by now imo

Don't know if this has any significance for VOG, spotted by a motley poster.
The head of Russia's National Oil Institute Fund, a fund that promotes the development of small oil and gas producers, was shot dead this morning in Moscow, according to Russian media reports.
The Itar-Tass news agency report quoted local prosecutors as saying Zelimkhan Magomedov, 50, general director of the National Oil Institute Fund, was shot twice in the head.
The website of the institute says it is a non-commercial organisation founded in 2003 and works to foster development of small and medium-sized oil and gas producers.
A woman who responded to a telephone call at the National Oil Institute but would not identify herself by name declined to comment on the incident.
"A criminal investigation for a contract killing has been opened," Svetlana Petrenko, an official at the Moscow prosecutor's office, told AFP.
Magomedov's death is the latest in a series of apparent contract killings in Moscow in recent months, including those of investigative reporter Anna Politkovskaya and the deputy head of the Russian Central Bank, Andrei Kozlov.

Just read the two page 'Shares mag' press column on VOG, rated as high risk buy.

Yes very high risk given the fact that the Russian may forced them to sell the business off at a very low price...this would finish VOG off for sure.

Think it could be one of the big boys such as BP or Shell who bid for VOG, to get a foot in Russia.

Surely all exploration stocks are high risk buys??? That is the nature of the business.

probably on the back of the extended article in Shares Mag ..... for myself, am very happy to sit with my current holding and will consider adding if sp falls far enough ..... have not yet set a target for that, though 68p is a support level from memory

as a chartist i am often ridiculed for my view that all there is to know about a company is reflected in its share price, and can be read and interpreted from the share chart.
unlike many, who rely solely on fundamentals, and who may ridicule us few, many also
quietely , and out of sight , look at a chart.
I do not ridicule fundys.
price has been very weak of late, and a "bounce is due" . beware the Bear, for unlike the bull, it is subtle and and once it gets its paws on us and gives us a bear hug we just cant get enough. until it starts to squeeze just a little too tight, then we become aware of the dangers, it is just at this very moment that the bear senses and backs off.
it even offers us a glimpse of hope, just at that very moment when we were about to give up on our position, why , even a ray of sunlight. so much so that we think that all that pain was so worth it that we shall even buy some more, that ray of sunlight might even tempt in a few more longs. those Bears , they do know how to tempt and tantalise us. after all, what can be better than a cheap share? and then they close it on us and all those new entrants that they have been so successful in attracting. Not next time we say, but of course, next time is different.
maybe this time , on this share it will be different, but how many times has it been?
not just vog but beware the bear.

jkd .... a bit theatrical, but basically not untrue ..... i have a relatively small holding and may be tempted to buy more at say 68 ..... am certainly intrigued by the 16% holding by Barclays, though i dare say that could easily be cfd traders .... tomorrow's interims may shed a little light, though i rather doubt it; in which case, expect further weakness

cynic You mean barclays has a 16% shareholding. that must be good . it will certainly stop me from selling, in fact i might buy some more.( gotta love them Bears)
