What is going on with this stock it seems to be getting worse by the day. Tempted to count my losses and move on

Peter123 - 08 Dec 2006 12:00 - 1395 of 2511

This fucking stock is also pissing me off!

dcb - 08 Dec 2006 12:58 - 1396 of 2511

lol p123 me also

cynic - 08 Dec 2006 13:28 - 1397 of 2511

you could buy GOO instead and almost guarantee to make a loss, even at today's price

hlyeo98 - 08 Dec 2006 17:58 - 1398 of 2511

Looks like VOG is down and out.

cynic - 08 Dec 2006 18:38 - 1399 of 2511

sp is actually bang on a notional support level ...... i think that boredom more than anything else is causing the weakness, though I agree that some decent news would not go amiss

jkd - 08 Dec 2006 22:35 - 1400 of 2511

cynic I know we may appear to have locked horns on this one, but i do presently agree with your last comment, apart from the boredom bit that is.
i would just like to add that support to the downside does get broken, just as resistance to upside can and does get broken also.that is part of the fascination of stock price movements. to "bet" on it is extremely dangerous. as you say "and takes your chances". thats why i am flat and staying out.
for trend followers the trend is still down, and therefor not a buy. for existing holders it is in my opinion a hold and hope with fingers crossed that this support level holds fast, contrary to the existing trend. it appears to be the last stand. the alternative of course is to sell into a bounce, which may then prove to be more than a bounce.
what a dillemma!
i guess the moral of the story is always use a stop loss and never ever average down.
that way no dillemmas.
all just my opinion
best regards to all

Falcothou - 09 Dec 2006 18:12 - 1401 of 2511

Investor's Chronicle has put a buy on Vog for those at the end of their tethers, cheered me up anyway, especially after goo!

janetbennison - 09 Dec 2006 18:29 - 1402 of 2511

falcothous there may be hope for vog yet. I have had a bad time with this share. I got tempted yesterday to buy some more at 65.5p but resisted. thursday and friday both seemed to have seen vog drop quite a bit and then go back up again. I have been with this one for 18 months now. good luck to you.

hlyeo98 - 18 Dec 2006 23:05 - 1403 of 2511

Time to bail out of VOG...institutional SELLING.

Peter123 - 18 Dec 2006 23:39 - 1405 of 2511

It does not mean a damn thing!

cynic - 19 Dec 2006 06:05 - 1406 of 2511

i noticed that too hyleo, and am certainly not happy with break below 68

seawallwalker - 19 Dec 2006 07:21 - 1407 of 2511

Don't hold here, but I do know that Fidelity International Limited are cleasring out a fair few oilers across the section.

VOG is not an exception to their new rule.

I would not worry on that one account.

cynic - 19 Dec 2006 07:31 - 1408 of 2511

i think barclays also reduced a bit, but again, not of great concern in itself

hlyeo98 - 20 Dec 2006 13:31 - 1409 of 2511

It certainly does not mean a thing, Peter...down to 61.75p now.

skyhigh - 20 Dec 2006 14:12 - 1410 of 2511

Grim isn't it ! drifting down and down 40-50p on the cards!

cynic - 20 Dec 2006 14:43 - 1411 of 2511

don't disagree .... sold 1/3 of my holding a couple of days ago ..... nothing untoward; just general boredom and lack of confidence in E&Ps - qv GOO, CHP et al

skyhigh - 20 Dec 2006 15:15 - 1412 of 2511

going down, deeper and down

cynic - 20 Dec 2006 15:24 - 1413 of 2511

quite probably
