i have to admit i am on the sidelines with these having sold most at around 1. ultimately it is a straight debate over which will come first - the product to market and profitability or the cash runs out - and with news having been quiet for a while who knows - ultimately if they get it right and deliver the product to market there is a huge potential upside, but the longer the clock ticks the less likely it happening
good luck to all holders

I to mopped up some spare ISA cash by adding to my TRK holding. I felt it was a choice between getting in deeper or exiting. My head says that TRK has had plenty of time to deliver some of the promised good news and now is the time to move on, but my heart (greed?) thinks that a major deal is just round the corner and I don't want to miss out after holding for such a log time. (first bought in July 2000). I know this is the wrong way to make decisions but there you go.

Other BB's are are disscussing rumours of rumours.
The 4 MM buys around 2:30 and the dramatic change in price was enough for me to add to my postion. I sold 75% of my new shares just after 4. I believe, like me, there are a large number of people waiting for some (any) good news.

This has happened before,on speculation that news is imminent. The sp could easily reach 70p like last time.
However, they have been hinting at some sort of deal(?)with a heavy machinery manufacturer if I am not wrong.
There has been silence for so long that this is bound to happen now and then...look at GWP for a comparison...lot of buying on hopes of an RSN went on for ages...SKP similar. Then, when a really meaningful announcement is made,as in the case of GWP recently, the sp pops up for a day and falls the next.Everyone got used to short
I only hope that this is'nt a false alarm. If it is ,investors will become cynical and lose interest in the long term potentiality of this company.I hope they succeed in their ambitions,it would be a wonderful shot in the arm for our beleagured engineering/automotive industry.

I bought some of thes a couple of years ago. It was amazing at how the rumours of an impending deal were spread and in no time the SP reached something like 130p. I had already bought and sold at a profit, but made the mistake of going back in. As you say it may well be rumour again, but if TFK don't produce a gear box for one of the serious car manufacturers soon, surely they will struggle to survive. Let's hope that this time they have got something. At least so I can drag these from the bottom drawer, sell and re-invest in something more worthwhile!

Although I hold, IMHO it has all the hallmarks of a dodgy stock......Directors with far too many options, a narrow customer-base (car manufacturers, etc) and this is in an industry that is trying to cut the last penny in production.
Now look at the way cars are going:
With no obvious Oil shortages we are continuing to sell gas-guzzlers and "utility" vehicles that are not strictly necessary for life. Yet small "city" cars have no real advantage over a secondhand saloon - indeed they have many disadvantages (esp. in a crash - it's you that goes to hospital!)...yet we continue to allow our city-centres to be clogged by lorries and busses ( Oh dear, I mentioned that GREEN dream: when we all give up our cars!)...City centres should be designated for small electric vehicles by 2010 IMHO - start the construction so fossil-fuel vehicles stay out and there are easy ways to get shopping to the bus-station and railway....each major town will have to find its own solution but Plans need to be drawn up PDQ so we don't end up with the usual British Foul-Up. There needs to be a Head Honcho elected by BOTH parties to get on with the co-ordination of transport at the Local level and this will "eventually" create such a grass-roots force that major players will have to fit in. For a start he/she would not be a Political post, so no changes please. They should also halt any deals involving the loss of land or amenety for any Public or transport-linked operation - whether it be railways ( that sold-off much of their land to line shareholder pockets - this was wicked, since you can't make land....and Railway Co's are not just in the Transport Business ( really?) - they are in the communication business.
BACK to TRK
I do hope there is some Good News, this business has been fiddling about for so long their original Patents must be on Vellum.....but there is always hope. However, I see the car-future as small-engines with electric motors driving each wheel - pollution-free and braking that returns some energy. Electic charging points will need to be considered in every town and the city-centre reserved for 1/2 ton (max) electric vehicles/cycles.
-- Where does this leave TRK - I just don't see their technology as being essential to the plan. 20 years ago IVT would have been a "great alternative" to the clunky 3-speed auto boxes - but TRK's agitation of the industry has cut-off their perceived benefit - cars are common with 6-speed auto boxes. TRK needed to convince the Consumer "first" maybe even get some celibs to promote the idea.
TRK always has attacked the wrong-end of the problem IMHO.
- If I'm wrong, and the shares fly, I shall be rewarded. If TRK fails, I shall have myself to blame for not seeing it was fundamentally flawed in the approach, probably from year one. I've done it before with several telcos but I will never learn since all about me are so excited (about TRK) some rubs-off, I guess.
Regards and thanks for reading so far.
Late News ( Friday 22 April05.RNS 14.31)
It seems TRK are in moderately-advanced discussion regarding the Off Road transmission requirements; but no names just yet, nor timescale. Maybe this is what triggered the recent days' large trades......but then, the News wasn't out until this afternoon....At least it puts some flesh out for the rumour-mongers.

an interesting viewpoint.
re the rns - nice to see those with inside info getting in first - lets watch the toothless fsa do nothing about it!
there again they have been in discussions more times than i can remember, maybe this time?
currently on the sidelines and likely to remain that way - good luck to all holders

The "Italian-job" ( RNS recent ) just shows that there WAS something behind the sp movement. Maybe someone tracking the flight-pattern of TRK-execs - but it has shown a 20& rise today for retail shareholders - can't be bad but it's hardly a reward for the patience shown since TRK left BTG - so many years ago I almost "don't believe" they were ever together.
Maybe the Market is wary of jumping-in, until there are some manufacturing figures (eg sales units) as things can fall =all over the place.
I hold TRK from recent excitement but hardly what would be considered more than a punt.
TRK management is well lathered with Options, something I find unacceptable given that the sp has been very low at times - they should have Options based only on performance from the floatation price (3.60 was it?) as any lower sp represents losses for retail investors. Management should have bought shares on the open market and this would have helped to support investors that were relying upon what the Execs told us.
Let's hope this plays out and does finally reward those who held-on - I sold out above 1 as I recall. All IMHO.

this share is way too overvalued on the sales or short/medium term potential, hope people will realise

Charlielinks are you suggesting it's overvalued on their current turnover alone? I believe they do some research work associated with automotive, but cannot remember any details -even if they were released - they would "probably" be subject to a confidentiality ban as this Industry is always eager to keep things under wraps. This "turnover" is not really significant but may help to form connections within the industry, so it's not a stupid diversion in all probability.
OR
Are you saying it's overvalued on the likely potential, assuming a modest IVT-deal is struck somewhere? I've read rumours that each vehicle would attract a royalty of between 20-50 which seems pretty low, knowing that only a few buyers will want this initially and it may take a few years to convince a timid Public.
Unfortunately for PI (what I sometimes call Retail Shareholders, can't remember where I read it).....the automotive industry is conveniently tight-lipped - so rns are few and far between - particularly in this case where there is really no-news. I am ignoring all those RNS concerning Directors lathering themselves with options, benefits and share sales by interested parties.
What no-one seems to be able to establish is whether this product really works well enough to be a viable contender in automotive circles and whether a small outfit like TRK (by turnover) can negotiate a decent deal with anyone larger than Dinky Toys.
/Could ou express yourself in some greater detail so I may gain from you r thoughts,? thanks.
/
May I ask you if your disagree that TRK has always approached the "wrong end" of the problem (ie significantly larger automotive firms), as I've suggested a few msgs ago. .
[[However, we must separate our thoughts based on the nuts and bolts of a company and its customers in the future.......this sp is driven by much sentiment and oodles of hope, in the minds of Private Investors.]]

The best RNS yet, price at present up 31%, and rising.
Although not a full BD, this is the biggest hint yet for the future. 100,000 units, you don't commit to that amount if you don't have 100% faith in the product. We have been waiting for the flood gates to open, who would bet against them opening now. My own thoughts are that we will not have to wait till further into 2006 for another RNS on similar lines. Well done to TRK management.

Results showed a historic loss but we should be looking foreward now to the change from a research company to production with funding from a partner. Blue skies somewhere on the horizon!!! Maybe that explains all the sells from smaller holders and the buys from larger more patient holders?

Wow. A day of rising sp. Let's hope a delayed RNS will explain it.
Maybe Tesco is to market a new hover-mower with a torrobox.
