Whats stunning ?

niceonecyril - 14 Apr 2008 11:06 - 1407 of 2087

Market warming to the news, now at the days highest and almost 4m traded.Peeps were paying these prices not so long back before confirmation of discovery, also worth considering this is its in the USA,so no problems on that account.
Todays result is from one of the 5 wells drilled, so much more to come, with
another 7 planned of which EME have the option to participate.
imho

Ah well, Big Al, even previous disappointers, can make good :-)))))

Big Al - 14 Apr 2008 15:56 - 1409 of 2087

Only back where they were at the start of the year unfortunately, John. Can't see much room for being too overjoyed. The last of posts all day seem the confirm EME shot their bolt with the punters some time ago. They gave up. I also suspect a few will take the opportunity to cash in on what seemed like dead money.

At the end of the day, it's not a huge gusher now, is it?

A few traders in there today, obviously. Will see if it lasts. ;-)

hushpuppy - 14 Apr 2008 18:07 - 1410 of 2087

Probably quite a good result, considering
a) testing was only on half of proposed drilling length
b) Normally these formations have to be fracced.

b) is something to do with sweet spots, though can't understand what golf clubs and tennis racquets have got to do with it

PapalPower - 15 Apr 2008 04:07 - 1411 of 2087

Even if it flows on production at 6.5 million, that, with EME just having 7.5% working interest is not even half a million a day nett for EME ? Not earth shattering, but much better than Glantal and Eagle !!

niceonecyril - 15 Apr 2008 09:12 - 1412 of 2087

PP their is a 16 well program with 3 levels,and EME's share varies from 7.5 to 18%,
so this result is from is just the start of this discovery. The SP has more than doubled
in the last 2 days, since the news and as i pointed out sometime ago that at sub
20p it was amazing value. For those who failed to take advantage could i offer
another tip in FEP, which will by the end of this month announce production from
its field Galoc which maybe as much as 500bopd from just a 2.27% interest. It
recently hit 32p on news of pending production, so a good short term trade?

Petralva. i haven't forgotten, its just seems to have been missed by others?
Two of our JV's in aussie although not party to Block A have rise over 40%
on the strenght of this news, as they have interest in Block B.

Up almost 12% on opening, maybe a forerunner to a bit of fund raising? Well worth considering at this level.

21 April 2008

Empyrean Energy PLC
("Empyrean" or the "Company"; Ticker: (EME))

Sugarloaf Block A, Texas USA
----------------------------

- TCEI JV Block A-1 well begins to flow at commercial rates direct to sales
line.
- Well was being prepared for a fracture stimulation program and was not
expected to flow without stimulation.
- Very early encouragement as the well is expected to be stimulated during
forward operations.

Empyrean, the AIM listed energy company with exploration and production assets
in Germany and USA today announces the following initial test results from its
TCEI JV Block A-1well on Block A at the Sugarloaf Project in Texas:

The TCEI JV Block A-1 well unexpectedly began to flow commercial quantities of
gas and condensate during operations to prepare the well for a fracture
stimulation and flow testing program. As of the latest report the well was
flowing at approximately 0.66 mmcfgpd (million cubic feet gas per day) with
approximately 130 bcpd (barrels of condensate per day) and 45 bwpd (barrels of
water per day) with a FTP (Flow Tubing Pressure) of around 2300 psi.

On the present day prices for condensate and gas whilst converting the
condensate to a gas equivalent, the most recent recorded equivalent gas flow
rate exceeds (using a 10:1 conversion) 2.0 mmcfepd (million cubic feet gas
equivalent per day).

The well will now be shut in for a pressure build up test. It is expected that
this well will be fracture stimulated during forward operations. The exact
timing of the program is not known and will depend on how the well performs in
the coming days without stimulation.

Commenting today, Empyrean Executive Director Tom Kelly said "This gas and
condensate flow has come as a very pleasant early surprise as the well was not
expected to flow without stimulation. We could see a multiple on these
production rates if fracture stimulation proves successful. This well also had
liner cemented in place whereas future wells are likely to be completed without
cement using perforated liner slotted into the open hole. We now have 2 wells
flowing commercially from the 5 wells already drilled to date (3 of which are
yet to be tested) further de-risking the project."

The information contained in this announcement was completed and reviewed by the
Technical Director of Empyrean Energy Plc, Mr Frank Brophy BSc (Hons) who has
over 40 years experience as a petroleum geologist.
