THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I have a bit of trouble reading what you post up and I'm sure others have the same trouble as me. You certainly have plenty to say and you contribute on here such a lot. So I strongly get the idea you really do want us to read what you have to say.

However, your spelling and grammar are utterly atrocious and this conflicts with how you communicate to us.

You obviously don't give an utter toss about it, IMHO. You can't be bothered to use any Capital Letters; there are hardly any full stops or commas; you don't look back over what you've written to see if it's clear and makes sense grammatically.

Now you are so strong and forceful with what you have to say that 'how you say it' is in utter conflict with the message you want to get across.

For goodness sake! You say you are proud to be British but you just don't appear to give shit about the English language. You are so lazy with it and your effort on it is utterly pathetic.

As I say, it just totally conflicts with what you have to say.

Rant over.

Try a bit harder! Please!

Suggest that some read the rules and regulations regarding NHS treatment of non UK residents.

Suggest they also, look at the reasoning for NHS treatment of immigrants.

Suggest that some read what was covered under old Public Health regulations and reasoning behind the.

Would suggest that some think before trying to whip up or ferment sectarian sentiment as it may come back to haunt them.

If a society breaks down into them and us, you never know which group you may end up in.

As far as public opinion is concerned, that is as fickle as the weather and can be manipulated by the media.

The labour party won a landslide victory and lost the public support later. The tories scraped to power, but may have poll well in the last few weeks, but they wouldn't have a majority by themselves.

That is before the cut backs and downward path of the economy and shrinkage of public services take place.

=====

Immigration is a problem, but a minor one, lack of cohesion and future public disorder, criminality, are more likely to be the major near time real problems.

Scapegoating of one section of society, does not relieve the other portion of society of its problems.

It may act as an escape valve.

-----

(One of the reasons the "Irish" problem "was" resolved was due to an improvement in the "social wellbeing and economy of the Catholic section" and the Irish economy as a whole.)

----------------------------

Not the only reasons

-----------------------

Bur when you see a society, where you can see individual members go out and spend more on a dinner for two, than some families may have to keep a family of four for a week, then it would seem more than likely that there will be friction.

Especially when this is "exposed" so easily, in the media and press.

EXec,

I suffer from the same condition, but I am "trying". Or so I am told. 8-)

When I've gone shopping in my local town, I didn't realise this:

There are currently more than 500 cameras covering the town

Since some of them have never, and would probably never ever record any crimes or have any effect on arrest rates, they are going to switch some of them off.

So that's nice.

A very intelligent post (14087) Fred, and coincidently being broadcast right now on R4 is a program about the lousy treatment of migrant works in China and what they are tying to do about it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0184v2q

Why don't people just use the spell checker before posting ?

iturama - 15 Dec 2011 11:16 - 14090 of 81564

Since english appears to be a second language to many, and to make Exec happy, following is your first lesson in english writing (it is different to the spoken english).

is- third form of the word "to be"- as in "she is"
his -possessive pronoun - as in "that book is his"
there - adverb meaning in or at that place - as in "he is there"
their -another possessive pronoun - as in "that is their house".

Never too late to learn.

Stan - 15 Dec 2011 11:22 - 14092 of 81564

aldwickk - 15 Dec 2011 11:35 - 14093 of 81564

Yes Stan, "Thinking " would make a change from " You ", they are both diffident word's .

Very smart of you to spot that, give him another biscuit Fred.

ahoj - 15 Dec 2011 14:42 - 14103 of 81564

As long as Medvede needs a visa (3 days) to travel to Europe, the crisis can not be resolved.

I think some of the big Yanks are playing up with everything to prevent any progress. I wonder why!!
