Lambykins's Dutch Coffee House - ADULTS ONLY (LAMB)

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2005 23:56

CLOSED - THANKS to all customers for the last few years

JStratford - 11 Apr 2007 09:56 - 14243 of 24230

Spacie... You sound like you have the same philosophy as me regarding cars, apart from the fact that I reckon a 45 year old car is even more eco-friendly! Can't cope with modern cars with all this power-assisted rubbish and front wheel-drive. Give me a big old V8 and I'm happy.

Bluelady, I apologise for the car talk... it is my one weakness. Please forgive me and let me have a cup of tea ;-)

stockbunny - 11 Apr 2007 09:57 - 14244 of 24230

Nice and relaxed now Bluey thank you :>)
Spacie I didn't think you did eco-friendly when it came to vehicles, thought you were more in Clarkson mode on such matters ;>)

optomistic - 11 Apr 2007 10:01 - 14245 of 24230

Blue, I'm eco friendly, can I have a pot of tea please.

Bluelady - 11 Apr 2007 10:02 - 14246 of 24230

Hi J Stratford- Ahh you are reverting back to my poster name, lol. Have a cup of tea. Btw, you don't need to apologize about talking about cars, football or even computers it's just that I get a glazed vacant expression which is normally associated with my brain shutting momentarily down....just one of those minor things I am sure I'll grow out of it one day!!!

Hi stockbunny - pleased to hear that :0)

Bluelady - 11 Apr 2007 10:04 - 14247 of 24230

Hi optomistic- sorry missed you, of course you can have a pot of tea.

mg - 11 Apr 2007 10:05 - 14248 of 24230

Blimey, you lot don't half go on - took me ages to read all those posts.

Anyway, I've just had a full english at Frank's caff on the corner - only 4.10 - witha large mug of tea and 2 slices of toast - and it got me thinking.

There never seems to be any discussion of costs at this place and then I realised - MoneyAM is taking the charges straight out of my bank account every time I have a cup of tea or lemon drizzle cake - and have you seen the prices - they do it on a monthly basis as well - whether I have anything to eat or drink or not !!

This thread represents a way of softening the blow of those extortionate stealth taxes - this is supposed to be an open and transparent BB - I'm going to complain to the management, my MP and that bloke who writes for the Sunday Mail.

Harumph

Moaning mg of Moravia

JStratford - 11 Apr 2007 10:11 - 14249 of 24230

Bluey, just thought I should be a little bit more formal when asking for forgiveness!

mg, you mean you haven't filled out form A112xdeFG67 part 3iii section C2? It allows you to reclaim fully all costs at 250% due to the location of the cafe in a tax haven. It's the only way I make any money out of this shares lark!

Bluelady - 11 Apr 2007 10:16 - 14250 of 24230

Hi mg-
first sentence- yes isn't it nice as they are such a friendly bunch.
second sentence- they let you out for day release, lol.
third sentence- MAM must be treating you differently than myself. Is that a good thing for me or a bad thing ie I'll get an annual fee.
fourth sentence- go for it!!!

Hi J Stratford- That was very kind and polite then ;0).

Spaceman - 11 Apr 2007 10:16 - 14251 of 24230

Dont worry about mg, he is still sulking about me and Uma.

Spaceman - 11 Apr 2007 10:20 - 14252 of 24230

Still not talking about cars...

Here are pictures of the types of car that make up the rest of my fleet ;-)

2007 VW Golf R32

1997 Audi A6

1987 Porsche 944S

To complete the eco friendly picture, I manage to get an infinte MPG figure out of 2 of them all the time, this is due to the fact that there are only 2 of us so at least 2 of the cars are not being driven even when we are both out in a car. I regard this as the ultimate eco friendly car ownership scheme.

And whats more they are all fully taxed and insured.

Fundamentalist - 11 Apr 2007 10:24 - 14253 of 24230

Morning all

coffee and bacon sarnie please

yes Jeff it was a great game and yes Arsenal fans are gutted (and slightly worried if they lose on saturday they wont even be in next yrs comp)

Bluelady - 11 Apr 2007 10:27 - 14254 of 24230

Hi Spaceman- LOL, great cars, I really enjoy looking at cars and discussing their merits....so after careful consideration the only thing which I can say about them truthfully is 'Great colours'.

Good morning Fundamentalist, coffee and bacon sarnie on it's way.

Bluelady - 11 Apr 2007 10:36 - 14255 of 24230

Ok I was trying to post a photo of my eco friendly transport BUT I'll have to try another time!!!

JStratford - 11 Apr 2007 10:40 - 14256 of 24230

Spacie... all too new for me I'm afraid, apart from the Porsche, although I do prefer the early 911 air cooled turbos. Don't own anything post 1986 (with one exception) although I do have the misfortune to drive more modern vehicles if I'm not very careful! Regarding multiple vehicles per person - my point exactly, you can only ever drive one vehicle at a time and in my case I rarely manage to have them all running at any one point, so I need spare vehicles for when the others need some TLC.

Bluey, me kind and polite? You've got to be kidding ;-)

Spaceman - 11 Apr 2007 10:44 - 14257 of 24230

JS, in fact 2 of mine are not running at the moment (944s and A6) but they only have minor issues that I will sort out this week. What cars do you have ?

The pictures above are not my actual cars although the 944s is exactly the same as mine, my A6 is a 1.8T base model with different wheels but it is green and my R32 is silver. The R32 has DSG and is a fantastic car to drive.

stockbunny - 11 Apr 2007 10:49 - 14258 of 24230

As I thought Jeremy Clarkson is disguise ;>)
Buy a motorised carrot - totally eco friendly, runs on carrot juice and completely recyclable - well it is if your a bunny ;.)

JStratford - 11 Apr 2007 10:54 - 14259 of 24230

At the risk of boring everyone...
Morris Minor saloon 1098cc complete rebuild and now in show condition
Various Land Rovers ranging from the 1950's through to my beloved 1985 V8 90 (Sad I know)
Jaguar XJS V12 (awaiting serious rebuild work!)
Toyota Corolla GT Coupe Holomogation unit
Westfield 1800

Sorry nothing fancy, in process of trying to find a 1978 pontic transam and a 60's Mustang Fastback, but both have to be manual's

stockbunny - 11 Apr 2007 10:59 - 14260 of 24230

Boys 'n' toys gentlemen...boys 'n' toys ;>)

Spaceman - 11 Apr 2007 11:01 - 14261 of 24230

JS, That sounds like a fun stable.

Is the 85 V8 an original build or a conversion of some sort? (army)

Spaceman - 11 Apr 2007 11:02 - 14262 of 24230
