Might have got this wrong but decided to bank a very good profit because this could slip tomorrow morning as news feeds through...market cap of 1.5 billion pounds....pretty hefty that....

cynic medium term like CEY but not happy about their lower production estimates, lot of speculation about uranium price which may turn out to be premature, gold price may plateau short term depending on strength of US$, like oil.

Could have done better...but also sold some more earlier on, above 190p....so not bad but I fear this could drop 20p on opening tomorrow....

hali - CEY lower production was flagged in september, so already in the price .... actually doubled up earlier today at 161.7, but may use those to trade

Looks like it was a pump and dump with the takeover rumour.
Made a nice profit yesterday on the rise yesterday, so cannot complain but these pump and dumps are getting all too frequent - is it related to II's wanting to get their money out after a placing so they create some PI interest and a spike and then sell heavily into it ?? ;)
Same thing happened on DES, placing 140p and spike to 170p followed by dumping.

more garbage from the usual source ..... let's take DES .... DES spiked because the lemmings convinced themselves that DES was going to hit it rich .... it didn't, so why the surprise when sp tanked?
here (GKP), it was just a loose and vague rumour in the market which may or may not ultimately have substance ..... but again, it's always bad strategy to buy on ANY t/o rumour or likelihood .... even when a t/o offer is actually tabled, it often falls through
so the usual crap about conspiracy and manipulated pump and dump is codswallop .... it's more like greed reaping its natural harvest

that last post is brevity at its most potent Cynners. Nice one lts pure greed .For once i fully concur with all salient points ..BUT some of the wild guess/estimates reg s/p aired on this thread read like something written by Enid Blyton on crack . GKP are operating in the madness that is lraq!! NOT nestling in leafy Surrey. Obviously never been to lraq what with many of its established wells contaminated during the early stages of the war by U308- courtesy of American uranium tipped missiles designed to penetrate the heavy armour the lraqis employed to protect its fields ...eg; the dome et kirkuk.. And any new wells and their prerequisite infrastructure acting as a high power magnet for sabotage and extortion at best by any number of insurgent groups . l thought it was like something from Dantes lnferno in 2002. but after going back in 2008 it was even worse. By then even those who had supported the initial liberation from SH had turned against America and its wild west disgraceful behavoir . F***g Philistines ...........as long as GKP are in lraq they will need the American army and mega dollars to employ a virtual standing army in the way of private security firms . Chilling place- one where your heart often beats in your underwear

TFC, a very good post and reminder of where and who gkp are dealing with, but with such a huge amount of oil in play gkp can't be ignored. At the same time, one shouldn't get carried along with the hype and get too greedy......I will repeat this post to myself 20 times before going to bed. Had to work today so missed the high, like rf I would have, and still might take some profit whilst it's there.

cynic, can you read ?
You say "may or may not have substance" and yet the company put out an RNS to clarify it has NO substance. You really need to read more and stop shooting from the hip, you are becoming wrong far too often.

now try not to quote out of context or even quote the whole - e.g. include the bit about "loose and vague rumour" ..... you will recollect that you were ranting about conspiracy and similar to rig the market
as i said, you persistently spout slurry

i am certainly happy to hold, but given the area and a multitude of other uncertainties, i am equally happy to be somewhat underweight at cost
