Cineworld Group plc was founded in 1995 and is now one of the leading cinema groups in Europe. Originally a private company, it re-registered as a public company in May 2006 and listed on the London Stock Exchange in May 2007. Currently, Cineworld Group plc is the only quoted UK cinema business.
In December 2012, the Group acquired the Picturehouse chain of cinemas consisting of 21 cinemas, and in February 2014, the combination with Cinema City completed, creating the second largest cinema business in Europe (by number of screens). The enlarged Group now has 217 sites and a total of 2,000 fully digital screens. Our portfolio includes four out of the ten highest grossing cinemas in the UK and Ireland. We pride ourselves on outstanding picture quality and atmospheric surround sound; the soft, deep-down comfort of our modern seating; the crunch of our popcorn; and, most importantly, the friendliest customer service around. All our sites are digital, and we are one of the market leaders in 3D, a format which will become increasingly important.
In 2014, Cineworld accounted for 82.9 million admissions, had revenues of £619.4 million and an Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) before exceptional items of £126.6 million.

Dont mean to be a kill joy lads but earlier today flipping through twitter very fast I saw someone I think a broker mentioning the World Cup could have a negative effect here on attendances during the duration of the tournament. obviously would effect revenues for about a month.
Ill try and find it again.

MARKET REPORT: Cineworld warns that World Cup will have negative effect on business during summer
By GEOFF FOSTER
PUBLISHED: 22:00, 8 May 2014 | UPDATED: 22:00, 8 May 2014
It's 35 days before host nation and red-hot favourites Brazil kick-off the World Cup in Sao Paulo against Croatia.
England are currently 33-1 no-hopers. The mega soccer bonanza will take over millions of households during a four-week period until the final on July 13.
Pubs, which are being allowed to stay open to accommodate late kick-offs, should benefit from increased sales, as should supermarkets and the off-licence trade.
But there will be casualties within the business fraternity. Cineworld, the UK’s largest cinema operator, yesterday became the first quoted company to warn that the World Cup will have a negative effect on business during the summer. The shares were sold down to 336p before they rallied strongly to close 10.25p better at 352.75p.
Putting a brave face on it, Cineworld said it was banking on blockbusters such as Godzilla, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Maleficent to get bums on seats before the World Cup kicks off. After that, who knows.
Admissions at its UK and Ireland cinemas increased by 1.9 per cent between December 27 and May Day, while a 4.8 per cent increase in average ticket prices fuelled a 6.8 per cent increase in box office revenue.
Its market share in the UK and Ireland has increased to 27.6 per cent from 26.9 per cent.
Broker Panmure Gordon remains a seller and has a target price of 295p.

Good point GF but (and i hate football with the same passion that people love it) surely England won't be in it for long so everyone can go back to the flicks ! ..
Plus , and just a thought, CINE should get a film on of the 1966 world cup ,build up and all , to coincide with when England go out which will be at the earliest possible opportunity .
I shall quickly apply for a seat on the board .

The quality of the near term releases are more important than The World Cup for the first two weeks to Cinema goers.
