Bluelady, my system is virtually perfect.
Good morning Spacie. Best of luck with your studying, if you have any questions just ask, I'm sure that someone here can provide the information.
Not sunny here at present, it's as grey as a grey thing!

Bunny, there is a 2 acre garden out there, no danger of tripping over your cold frame. Just for you I have planted a large plot of carrots. Its in the part of garden with a 3ft fence around it. That is to keep out carrot fly, they only fly about 12" from the ground.

I don't think so Spacie, but they know a thing or two about carrots, like they don't grow on trees.

Good morning stockbunny and Spaceman,
Socrates- with the aid of the internet I have been doing some research on carrot flies. Apparently, the adult fly locates carrots by a number of means, including scent. So there are two possibilities here, one is to peg their noses so they can't smell the carrots or that we all donate our perfume/aftershave to you and you dab it around the fence!!!

Time for elevenses, where is Bunny?
I went to the antique fair at the NEC and scored a resounding victory. Managed to come away without spending any money, apart from refreshments. I've never seen so many Auntie Wainrights in the same place all at once before. Some lovely items there, could have spent a fortune. If only I had one to spend!

I'm here! Actually you can combat carrot fly by interplanting onions as they hate the smell of those....OK lunch....aubergine bake or cottage pie.

Yes please Bunny.
PS carrots don't ward off onion fly, so what then?
