Its against human ( and company) nature NOT to release good news as soon as possible.
Think on that.

Not much going on on the markets, oil rising but not sparking the share prices very much.....bit of a lull in exploration news as well.....I'm just waiting on a lot of companies....XEL being one of them.....not sure about SEY,....stuck in that and might get my fingers burnt there.....but others hopefully will make up for one or two duds....

Ok,have I got this right?
We have Statoil's AGM scheduled for 19th May - a day after XEL's AGM and 'Special' meeting - coincidental? 'Special' meaning a resolution being tabled which requires a 75% majority for it to be carried - must be important then.
Fugro seismic boats contracted to Statoil and XEL trawling adjacent areas of seabed contemporaneously - perhaps collecting more detailed data for the RR to maximise value?
A CPR which has been shelved in favour of a RR (to protect IP relating to heavy oil extraction) which has been anticipated for the last month or so and could be issued any day.
Rumours of Statoil opening an Aberdeen office soon and some brinkmanship with Georgie Osborne regarding viability of the Bressay/Mariner fields to the North of Bentley in the current tax regime.
I smell something bigger going on in the background than what's currently available in the public domain.
Further research required so I'm off to Banchory Tesco's to camp out in the Champagne aisle :-)

We have got it right, the cpr is due this easter 2011. Just wondering if it was 2012.

i phoned the company to have a little whinge about the lack of investor info being put out, not least because the CPR was promised (again!) on/before easter ..... it seems that the director(s) whose responsibility this is had decided that a bit of salmon fishing or somesuch took precedence and will not be back at the office until tuesday - how nice for them!
the charming receptionist said she would contact said director(s) on mobile and ask one of them to call me - i pointed out that i would also be in the office tomorrow as international biz does not grind to a halt for a wedding and would be easily contactable
i shall report further in due course

XEL were as good as their word and i have had the call returned ..... me, among others, were expecting the (easter) rns to be a CPR ..... not so; it's a reserves update which, though assessed by an independent 3rd party, is slightly different
it was (truthfully) pointed out that though this report had been hoped for by easter, it was not actually promised ..... it was also fairly commented that it is far better to be a bit late than to rush out a report that subsequently turns out to be inaccurate
nevertheless, it was acknowledged that us poor PIs felt somewhat bereft of news and i hope that that will be remedied, even if only by way of a non-event rns saying that the reserve report will be published asap

Thanks Cynic, sometimes you feel these companies forget common sense. They get so involved in their work and forget the investors.

"investors"?
aka Owners.
But it`s just the answer one would expect, so the report is"a bit late", but not really because it was never` promised`to be issued by now, and if it was it would probably be inaccurate?
Roll on the (hopefull) spike when it comes out, when I shall rapidly follow-out!
Cynic, why don`t you just c&p the e-mail, it`s in the public domain mow and never should have been merely given to you, with respect.

Apologies, but that`s even worse, to give verbal info. to one holder verges on the discreditable, or as Sam Goldwyn said---
"A verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's (not) written on.

As a reminder of last report:
28 February 2011
Xcite Energy Limited
("Xcite Energy" or the "Company")
Reserves Assessment Process Update
Following the successful Bentley 9/3b-6 well test in December 2010, the Company's 100% subsidiary, Xcite Energy Resources Limited ("XER"), has been working on a Reserves report that will update the RPS Energy Competent Person's report dated February 2009.
TRACS, part of the AGR Group, was appointed as the independent third party engineers to undertake the Reserves report on behalf of XER in the second half of 2010 and RPS Energy will continue to advise the Company to optimise the report.
The success of the Bentley 9/3b-6 well test requires XER to re-assess all material aspects of the reservoir model as the starting point for the input to the Reserves report. The information and data available from the well is still in the process of being received and collated and the Company intends to use as much of this material as possible for input to the Reserves report.
The Reserves report will be focused on the First Stage Production ("FSP") of the Bentley field, for which the work programme is underway and the Rowan jack-up rig has been contracted. The Reserves report will assess reserves in connection with the FSP only, while also providing a further update to the resources on a field-wide basis.
The Company expects the completion of the Reserves report to be around the end of March 2011, but will take the time necessary to maximise the value of the report.

S - don't be such a pratt .... i phoned as an individual and had a reply as such which divulged nothing particularly new nor remotely confidential, but at least clarified to me the diff between CPR and reserves report/update
