JStratford - 25 Apr 2007 18:26 - 14600 of 24230

Right... decided I'm feeling peckish again, so off to cook something. Don't know what, as I don't seem to have much in. Fish, fish, or fish by the looks of things!

stockbunny - 25 Apr 2007 18:29 - 14601 of 24230

Guess it's fish then ;>)

KEAYDIAN - 25 Apr 2007 18:47 - 14602 of 24230

I'd like to reserve a danish for tomorrow morning, just in case.

Socrates - 25 Apr 2007 18:53 - 14603 of 24230

OK, chicken butty it is. I've got some onion relish to spice it up a bit. A nice mug of tea and a sticky bun will round it off nicely.

stockbunny - 25 Apr 2007 18:56 - 14604 of 24230

Sounds like you've got it all sorted then Socs :>)
Ok Keaydian - I'll write it in the dust on the top if the fridge.....
;>)

Well that (beige book) made a bundle of difference LOL not that anything seems to at the moment, seems the Dow is hell bent on onwards and upwards regardless.

JStratford - 25 Apr 2007 19:27 - 14606 of 24230

Bunny, the Dow's performance really does lead me to believe that markets react to crowd psychology and have nothing to do with inconveinient economic or financial details!

Did an interesting piece of research for my Masters Thesis on market behaviour. Relatively inconclusive because of lack of data, but the results I did get basically said that everybody follows America, and America follows itself.

stockbunny - 25 Apr 2007 19:32 - 14607 of 24230

Absolutely the books I have read on crowd psychology in relation to the market seem to hold the greatest truth - guess its tulips all over again LOL

JStratford - 25 Apr 2007 19:42 - 14608 of 24230

No single asset this time, and hopefully we wont be seeing volatility of 2000% per month! The lack of a single asset appears to be the difference to the majority of previous bubbles. Of course the previous period that had very similar situations was back in the 1920's. Anyone remember what happened after that?

stockbunny - 25 Apr 2007 19:43 - 14609 of 24230

1920's are you kidding LOL Thats even before Socs time ;>)
OK I'm off - happy hunting and I'll see you bright and early tomorrow...oh yes and in the meantime inject a bit of sanity in the market! LOL

evening all,
JS re the no TV, we currently have more than one abode and at Sevenoaks we have no TV, its strange how our life when we are there is completly different than from when we are in Hastings with a TV, I dont miss having the TV at all when I am in Sevenoaks but when I am in Hastings I do watch it most nights.

Overall I like to have a TV but we have decided that when we move permanantly to Sevenoaks (or Norwich) we are going to put the TV in a small room and not have it as the focus of the lounge.

JStratford - 25 Apr 2007 20:02 - 14611 of 24230

Sorry to dissapoint Spacie, but it was me who shuns the TV (Although there is one back at the retreat) Suprising how many people are now starting to get rid of the TV, or at least not have it as the main focus. But then you've got the opposites who have the TV on the whole time regardless if they're watching it or not. Takes all sorts.

Spaceman - 25 Apr 2007 22:40 - 14612 of 24230

JS, yes sorry I meant you I just typed the wrong thing, I have now corrected it, I am a bit torn, there is some stuff on TV that I dont like to miss buts thats only about 2 hours per week, then there is some stuff I like to see (mainly Chanell 4 news) but if I cant I listen to Radio 4. I have a few friends who are anti TV, I am not like that but I really dont mind missing it for days on end.

When in Sevenoaks its either Radio4 or Radio 2 but a lot of the reason for that is that I dont have much music there, if I did I would listen to that more.

Socrates - 25 Apr 2007 23:01 - 14613 of 24230

I'm a confirmed ClassicFM listener. Too much political garbage on most other channels for me. I do watch some telly, but mainly nature, science and travel. As soon as an advert or news comes on I exercise the mute button. Life is so much more restful that way.

Morning campers, its a bit grey here in Hastings, but no rain so far although I could see lightning and hear Thunder in the distance at about 0100 this morning.

Driving over to Brighton in a couple of hours for my second exam (which I will probably fail) before a drive up to Sevenoaks late this afternoon.

Socrates - 26 Apr 2007 08:07 - 14617 of 24230

Good morning twice to you too Spacie. Best of luck with the exam.

I've just popped in for a quick snack before work, then I must be off.

stockbunny - 26 Apr 2007 08:16 - 14618 of 24230

Morning all :>)

optomistic - 26 Apr 2007 08:20 - 14619 of 24230
