THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I would like to see Ashes without his coronet. Of course the tory party should refund any bribes given them over the last 20 years.

How many bribes were paid for in the last honour system at the New Year?

Is this government going to be the most corrupt one for 50 years?

How much is the city putting in the coffers of political parties?

Is the stripping of Fred a distraction from other city figures and corrupt practices.

Of course there is no attention paid to money tucked away in Cayman isles by ?some cabinet members over the period before the last election.

Check it out.

---------------

But, I would think that this is a distraction from the cock up that Cameron is making in Brussels.

How many bribes have been paid by the unions to the Labour party?

greekman - 01 Feb 2012 07:28 - 14643 of 81564

Read a Government article yesterday regarding the feed in tariff paid for solar power, and the governments attempts to reduce the tariff.
Not taking sides here, but the governments main reason given was that,
'It is one of the most ridiculous schemes that has ever been dreamed up. It is already costing the consumer £7 billion pounds for only £400 mill of net value.
This is on a product where you need the electricity when the sun doesn't shine'.

Substitute wind power for solar energy.

Consumer costs well above return.
Product where you need electricity when the wind doesn't blow, or it blows too much.

The main difference of coarse is that under the solar tariff scheme the government is losing money (yes I know its our money), but its the government thats moaning not the consumer, whereas under the wind power subsidies the cost is put directly onto the consumer and it is the consumer that is moaning.

What a lot of bloody hypocrites they are.

I've been asked to pick a white emulsion for some decorating, so I thought I'd have a look at the B&Q site - there are 96 options for white emulsions - FFS!!!!!!!!!

Haystacks,

"How many bribes have been paid by the unions to the Labour party?" Answer: None.

Now tell us which Employers and Associates the Con outfit get their money from exactly?

Fred1new - 01 Feb 2012 09:58 - 14646 of 81564

Did Cameron get a grant for the windmill gimmick he put on his house when he was green?

I was told that the euroseptics are calling him U-turn Cameron.

I would think in the few months time he will be called U-bend Cameron.

How many U-turns is this listening PM going to make before the knives are sunk in his back.

Typical of this elitist old boys' government, scaremongering and scapegoating an dumping your ex-mates.

The tarrif for feed-in solar panels is being reduced in line with the fast falling prices of installing the panels.

Stan - 01 Feb 2012 10:04 - 14648 of 81564

Can't here you HS.

greekman - 01 Feb 2012 10:05 - 14649 of 81564

Hi Haystack,

As to the actual reduction, I agree with it and that it was a total miscalculation by the government.
Of course the solar panel providers are moaning like hell, as it will greatly effect their business. I don't blame them for this!
My post was mainly to show the similarities of when both solar panels and wind farms are useless.
Solar panels being faulted by the government because they often are useless when the power is mainly required, and yet they still push wind power like it is the Holy Grail, although the same weakness applies, although I am a great believer in solar panels (without subsidies, but with incentives such as low cost loans and the like) over the wind option.

r branson gives out cheap hols to the police for ?
is this not a bribe and if so when is he going to be arrested

Fred1new - 01 Feb 2012 13:54 - 14651 of 81564

I have had Solar panels on my motor home for 15years.

Not had to connect to the mains other than for heavy duty work for the majority of that period.

Even use the power generated for some cooking, computers, lighting etc.

Marvellous, when out in the wilds.

N,

It depends on what turns you on.

8-)

One of the things I wish is that the Gas guzzler would run Solar power.

C'est la vie.
