Time to Switch into ITV (ITV)

JRM - 17 Jul 2006 13:05

ITV must now be a bargain. The current team clearly are an issue but you'd think the big American companies would recognise the bargain.

The yield is also high and can be reinvested. That really does limit the down side. You can even win here if it drops further!

there will be more over weekend,

optomistic - 17 Nov 2006 15:39 - 16 of 519

Oh dear................. call in Capt Mainwaring :-)

Falcothou - 17 Nov 2006 16:30 - 17 of 519

From what I gather 'I'm a Celebrity get me out of here' is proving to be very popular which makes a change for ITV

bristlelad - 17 Nov 2006 18:37 - 18 of 519

oh dear ----you mis -CALLED-the wrong captain has arrive/?????

optomistic - 17 Nov 2006 19:46 - 19 of 519

BSkyB has bought 17.9% of ITV stock. Should make for a very interesting opening on Monday.

Falcothou - 17 Nov 2006 20:15 - 20 of 519

Yes 696miliion at 135p each !

TANKER - 18 Nov 2006 11:25 - 21 of 519

told you 145p bid on way , ludlow3 said this 2 weeks ago. on advfn.

hlyeo98 - 19 Nov 2006 08:01 - 22 of 519

I don't think 145p is on the cards. However 80p seems more likely as BSkyB has bought 15% of ITV preventing the merging of ITV and NTL. The Daily Telegraph on Saturday has said there will be a massive drop in sp next week. Good luck!

Quiet here this morning, maybe wondering where the sp is going.

now we will see if the fsa is anygood they have broken the law of market forces and insider dealing.

JRM - 20 Nov 2006 11:56 - 25 of 519

The move will make it better for BT

2517GEORGE - 20 Nov 2006 12:18 - 26 of 519

TANKER---------BSKYB said they checked the legalities prior to buying the stake, so presumably they had the OK to do so, what I don't understand is how they were able to buy nearly 18% of ITV @ 135p without the investing public being aware.

JRM - 20 Nov 2006 12:41 - 27 of 519

They did what NTL should have done and bought out two of the largest shareholders in one go. No wonder Branson's mad, he must be surrounded by monkeys!

2517GEORGE - 20 Nov 2006 12:48 - 28 of 519

JRM-----If they bought during the trading day, surely as soon as they had a 3% holding the market should have been informed. Re your comment about BT, do you mean better for BT to takeover ITV, or better for BT in general?

Almost clawed back to fridays closing price, feeling nervous so sold my call options @ 18p having bought @ 12.5p. If they should drop back then I may buy again ( options not the shares ).
