Yesterday's charting from the UPS

p.php?pid=chartscreenshot&u=5H%2Fw80QD8m

Master RSI - 27 Sep 2010 11:04 - 155 of 183

Holding for a breath at 10p, on a strong Level 2 of 3 v 1, it was a bit earlier 10.125p

5 days chart
Chart.aspx?Provider=Intra&Code=ANR&Size=

Master RSI - 29 Sep 2010 09:43 - 156 of 183

spread 10.25 / 10.75p +0.25p

on the UP with positive Level 2 now 4 v 2

the last 10.40p trades were buys from EVO ( not sell on -moneyam - trades ), that just move up on the bid 9.37am after the second trade at this price.

Master RSI - 29 Sep 2010 10:13 - 157 of 183

up on the bid 10.50p and only 1 MM at offer 10.75p

Master RSI - 29 Sep 2010 11:13 - 158 of 183

Ready to break the 11p as the Market Maker AMBR went to 10.75p bid is a 100K size, WINS has join in ( can not be trusted, up and down like the hore's knickers) after the 2x25K buys at 10.90p, but now buyers are paying close and last one full price 11p offer

halifax - 29 Sep 2010 16:02 - 159 of 183

through 11p heading for 15p!

Master RSI - 21 Oct 2010 11:01 - 160 of 183

From the "UPS" thread ( short term ).......

KEEP an EYE

ANR 10 - 10.25p +0.375p

Has moved into 5 MMs on the bid and volume buying is building up, should move higher this time as EVO
went into the bid, large trade most likely will appeared later

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=anr&Si

Master RSI - 21 Oct 2010 12:07 - 161 of 183

As it went higher is on a larger spread at the moment as the MMs have change price recently, needs someone on a large size pay more than 10.50p then someone will go at bid 10.50p

only 1 MM at 10.75p offer, next 11p

8 at bid 10.25p

Master RSI - 21 Oct 2010 14:08 - 162 of 183

10.75 / 11p

Is certainly going places today and EVO the dominant MM on the stock is on the bid
Level 2 is 1 v 2 at the moment as it just change the price

Master RSI - 21 Oct 2010 14:56 - 163 of 183

And UP she goes now 11 / 11.50p+1.375p on the day

and 6 v 3 on the level 2 on volume of 3.3M

not large volume bu so far almost all buying, so MMs are upping prices on any small size

What to do? is rising today

I guess the main arguments against are:-
(i) ANR has such asset backing and such a low price that downside risk is probably very low for the patient investor
(ii) one might miss a rise in ANR while out of Altona
(iii) one should have a diversified portfolio and moving may concentrate risk (depending on the portfolio makeup).

I dont wish to say anything against Altona, and Gene Grant may well be right. I will keep some funds here, and in several others with strong potential, as part of my balanced portfolio.

Although I wouldnt go as far as the message from these gals .....

Yesterday's EVOLUTION note .........

08 November 2010
Altona Energy (ANR.L) Buy -
Heating up
A recent visit to South Australia exhibited the potential of Altonas
Arckaringa coal project. The company has good relationships with the
South Australian authorities and, we believe, is laying solid foundations
for the future. The Chinese joint venture partners are now building
critical mass in Adelaide and we expect that this stage will be completed
before the end of the year. In the meantime, considerable background
work is ongoing and we believe that the parties will be able

Valuation
We have undertaken a range of updated valuations for Altona focused on a
mixture of where we currently perceive the group and how we anticipate the project
to be developed over time. From a current 12-18 month valuation of around
35p/share we see considerable longer-term upside to 60p as the project moves
closer to production.

Recommendation
We expect that Altonas news generation is set to move up a gear in 2011 as the
company pushes ahead with the work required to complete the various studies that
will feed into a development decision. Given the nature of the Chinese joint venture
partners this may be made ahead of completion of a formal bankable feasibility
study, in which case CNOOC-NEI is required to arrange bank finance for the project.
This would ease Altonas financial requirements and potentially enhance equity
value. Against this backdrop, and with a 35p target price, we reiterate our
recommendation on the stock. Buy.

ALTONA - Evolution note

Long term winner this cynic, buy in and tuck it away if you can. No probs! Brought in at 10p. Give it two or three years, then it will be rocket time. 8-)
