saw that but actually very much a storm in a t-cup ...... branch openings are of much greater import both to profitability and, more importantly, market sentiment towards the company

have cut my losses ...... sorry to say it, but DOM has now underperformed for too long, and though rsi looks o'sold, i see no immedaite likelihood of a strong recovery especially with, imo, every likelihood that the markets are due for a sharp correction ..... for all that, i shall continue to watch and may well come back in in due course
for general info, am keeping faith with RTN at least for the time being

prob high sugar too ...... good old Nanny State strikes again! ...... what chance of changing a nation's eating habits? ...... bugger all! .... next time you are in the super, have a look at the next trolley at check-out and see how many pre-prepped meals and crisps and sweets and biscuits etc etc .... even the bread has a high salt content compared to that at a true baker, rare beast that it now is

it's not exactly rubbish, but we do make an awful song and dance when really, it is a combination of many factors from busy lifestyles with both partners working to lack of ability to cook to lack of compulsory sport and exercise in schools ...... of course we do now have a significant groundswell against all the crap that is sold, so very very slowly eating habits may change, just as has our attitude towards global warming

The problem was the rise in the price of mozarella cheese and wheat !!!!
The overreaction yesterday was ridiculous - it seemed rude not to buy a few at 201p yesterday afternoon ...... so I did ;o)
The Daily Telegraph seem to agree - see today's Quesor column.

If my reading of the chart is correct, the sp hit the 200 DMA & then bounced down again. If it tries again & still doesn't breach the line then I would not be happy holding.

Judging by the amount of empty pizza boxes around the student areas of leeds and smokers (who are health concious!) now drinking at home. I hope this is just a blip for dom.

Surprised you haven't been shorting this one, cynic.
Surely the trading range from 140 - 160 is a possible support level?
I also thought that the divi date is sometime in december which might help a little.

Latest RNS says trading statement will be released on 8th January 2008. Preliminary results announced on 18th February 2008. Perhaps they are in a hurry to tell us how well they are doing before the media knock the sp down to 1.

i followed DOM for quite a while, but suspect i lost money overall ...... however, i still think it's a really good company, but timing (re)entry is very tricky
