Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Perhaps not...the news is out....and was expected....could be a lull for a while...

markymar - 04 Jun 2010 09:19 - 1544 of 6294

Depending on how quick they can get the equipment to the Falklands then I suppose it is possible when Fogl release the rig it could possibly flow test before it goes to Ernest and on the back of good news from flow test raise additional funds and drill more prospects..as said OG wont be leaving the waters of the Falklands for a long time.

Proselenes - 04 Jun 2010 09:19 - 1545 of 6294

Why sell ?

Sit back, ignore short term movements, wait for flow testing, watch SP double and more.

Simple and no risk or worry.

Anyone with stop losses should remove them to prevent the shorters and MM's getting your shares again like they did to some on Wednesday.

markymar - 04 Jun 2010 09:20 - 1546 of 6294

well said

Where's Cynic ?....any views on all this ?.....

Proselenes - 04 Jun 2010 09:21 - 1548 of 6294

zz1974,

They said today "testing equipment is on its way" and it will be flow tested "as soon as possible".

Patience needed, thats all, ignore short term movements.

Sell for jam today, or sell for caviar later on.

Balerboy - 04 Jun 2010 09:23 - 1549 of 6294

if rig moves to fogl then your looking at 2 months before testing can start.

zz1974 - 04 Jun 2010 09:24 - 1550 of 6294

Thanks Proselenes and nice image!!! Cheers...

robstuff - 04 Jun 2010 09:26 - 1551 of 6294

This is just the first of many drills and the results are better than expected and improves the prospect around the area, also like DES as they have similar geo and prospects this yr should prove more successful

markymar - 04 Jun 2010 09:28 - 1552 of 6294

Balerboy catch up the rig has already spud at FOGL and could be back over Sealion within 35 to 40 days give or take down time with bad weather ect

aldwickk - 04 Jun 2010 09:29 - 1553 of 6294

Got a limit order to sell 25% @ 400 good for 2 days , and yes people do take notice of tips in the weekend papers to buy.

Balerboy - 04 Jun 2010 09:29 - 1554 of 6294

it's these early mornings marky....

Proselenes - 04 Jun 2010 09:31 - 1555 of 6294

Balerboy, its already at FOGL and already spudded.

About 4 more weeks there and then its free to move on.

Please do some research............ mind you, you were telling everyone to sell this at 90p so that about sums you up.

cynic - 04 Jun 2010 09:31 - 1556 of 6294

cynic is sweltering in dubai, so only on line intermittently ...... not sure why you want let alone need my opinion, as i'm a self-confessed dickhead!

anyway, at time of writing, i note that the offer book is a fair bit longer than the bid ..... my inclination, though it is greed driven, is to place a further smallish order at say 312 .... if it gets filled, then well and good and if not, then no matter either as it implies sp is strengthening.

and to be very open, i am also long DES and in a smallish way FOGL

Master RSI - 04 Jun 2010 09:34 - 1557 of 6294

Moving bullish now after reaching a low of 306.50p after profit taking

a few minutes ago a buy of 25,000 @320p got the shares well ahead

There is no way that the rig will be back there in that timeframe....50 days minimum.....to move the rig and tow it plus repositioning will take 10 days....in good weather.....and they might go straight to ernest and that is more probable....I cannot see them setting the rig up again just to flow test....more likely that an appraisal well to find the limits of the reservoir or something like that at a future date...
