Marchpole - Nice New Clothes (MPH)

Socrates - 30 May 2003 18:58

Marchpole is one of those stocks which have had a really bad time. Boardroom battles, losses, price collapse, profit warnings up the ying yang.

Now all of those things seem to be sorted out, new management are getting to grips, new contracts and the price is on the up. So much so that Monday ought to see a 50/200 day MA golden cross.

DYOR of course, but I think I will be putting a few of these away at the open.

Super news and super day rise too. What more can one ask from a share?

Kivver - 21 Sep 2004 17:53 - 157 of 715

40p!!! or is that greedy?? well done to all holders.

gavdfc - 21 Sep 2004 19:45 - 158 of 715

Depends when you think it will hit 40p! I'm in this one for the long haul as I think the prospects are excellent. Look at the recent newsflow, profits rising, sales up, new licences, paying a divi, an excellent growth share IMO. Cracking share. And lots of director buying, putting their own money on the line.

m100 - 22 Sep 2004 08:34 - 159 of 715

so having chikened out 28p - a little too soon? sorry if I have missed this, but when are results due - is there a moneyampage that you can see when results are coming?

gavdfc - 22 Sep 2004 08:43 - 160 of 715

Last years results were out 22/10 so would expect this years to be around the same time.

capa - 22 Sep 2004 09:10 - 161 of 715

m100, no reason not to get back in again. The price may drift a bit and any dip will present an excellent buying opportunity. I am looking to top up if the offer drops below 30p.

gavdfc - 22 Sep 2004 09:24 - 162 of 715

Capa, agreed. Topping up if it drops below 30p also. Run up to the results should be fun, and after of course!

capa - 23 Sep 2004 09:44 - 163 of 715

Missed the chance yesterday to buy under 30p, took advantage of drop in price of AMT and topped up there instead.

Typical, you wait for a buying opportunity and two come along at once !!

capa

gavdfc - 23 Sep 2004 09:54 - 164 of 715

Capa, think quite a few holders were waiting for a drop under 30p of a couple of pence or so. Don't know if we will see that though. If we hold at this level then may add again, def adding if it does drop back though.

Up on a down day, very nice.

Some large trades today also which make interesting reading. Institutional buying maybe ?

capa

m100 - 29 Sep 2004 11:05 - 168 of 715

so is this the start of a little run? see the results will be out soon accoridng to their website

gavdfc - 29 Sep 2004 11:21 - 169 of 715

Should be a good run up to the results, which I think will be good. Added some more last week, waited for a pullback but it didn't happen. Results were out last year on 22/10 if I remember correctly.

capa - 29 Sep 2004 11:25 - 170 of 715

Bit miffed about missing chance to buy at under 30p the other day, not sure now whether this is going to drift down to that level again. Thinking about adding right this minute, whats a penny when these are likely to be 40p+ come interims next month.

capa

capa - 29 Sep 2004 11:27 - 171 of 715

Blow it, thats my 7,000 at 32.25 :-)

NMI results look good

capa

gavdfc - 29 Sep 2004 11:32 - 172 of 715

Capa, Snap! Felt the same last week, waited for a pullback, didn't happen so took the chance and bought more. Over the last few days, end of last week, some decent sized buys. The way I saw it was long term hold for me so what was a penny or two!

Gav

capa - 29 Sep 2004 11:43 - 173 of 715

Gav, agree totally. Nice to buy at the bottom of a dip but how many times to you get it right? Best to look at the wider picture and buy on value and if a dip occurs all the better.

My holding on these is 67,000 now at an average of 25p, started buying at 18.25p and been averaging up ever since. :-)

Looks like that T trade was holding things up, should get motoring now.
