Annual General Meeting trading update - Wednesday 24th May 2006

Vislink plc ('the Group'), the leading supplier of microwave radio and satellite transmission products for the broadcast and security markets and CCTV systems for the marine security market, will hold its Annual General Meeting later this morning.

The Chief Executive, Ian Scott-Gall, will give a trading update to the meeting
including the following comments.

'The Group has made a very strong start to the year. For the first four month's
trading in 2006

Order inflow is 35% ahead of the same period last year
Sales are 72% ahead of the same period last year
Adjusted operating profit for the period, being operating profit before
the amortisation of acquired intangibles, is over 50% ahead of the
3.2million reported for the first six months of 2005

Both the international and domestic markets remain strong for MRC our US
broadcast business. MRC's recent success in winning two Broadcast industry
awards at NAB 2006, the world's largest electronic media show, demonstrates
continued progress with new product introductions.

Our UK broadcast business continues to benefit from the growth of Link Research
with increasing demand for their new HD products and from sales growth and the
return to profitability of Advent, the satellite communications business.

Hernis, the specialist marine safety and security business, has made an
excellent start to the year with orders currently 50% ahead of the first four
month's of last year. Hernis continues to win significant orders from both
marine and offshore oil and gas projects.

In summary, the Board is pleased with the progress made so far this year and
looks forward to the rest of the year with enthusiasm and confidence.'

Email just received :

RTVV, the Spanish broadcaster, selected OVIDE RF to cover Pope Benedict XVIs recent visit to Valencia where more than a million people congregated in one of the largest public gatherings in Spain during recent years.

A crew of fourteen technicians installed fifteen LinkXP systems for point-to-point applications, and seven LinkXPR systems with camera control, which were all used during 30 hours of live TV production when OVIDE RF provided feeds to all of the international broadcasters.

yep - flying.

PapalPower - 22 Aug 2006 11:11 - 167 of 301

And flying again today :)

cynic - 22 Aug 2006 11:25 - 168 of 301

I rather fear that if one is not already on board, now is not the time to do it ..... Figures at the end of the month will, I am sure, be fantastic, but the sp has already rocketed and the odds must be pretty short on some quite heavy profit-taking just after the figures.

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 11:38 - 169 of 301

Interesting, Cynic, (and I thought so regarding your mail too, for which, thanks very much!).

My view is that if they make as little as 7 mil post-tax (estimated/extrapolated for the full year; next expected results are for the half year), that leaves them on PE 15.5 at current SP, for EPS of 5.1p.

This leaves a PE/growth ratio plausibly around 0.28, although I'd be prepared to accept a more conservative 0.5 as a fair estimate.

I'm inclined to be a touch more bullish.

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 11:42 - 170 of 301

Additional:- you may be right regarding a dip in the short term, but with five weeks to go before the results, I think this could grow nicely in between whiles. Looking ahead to the end of March 2007, I'd say the prospects are good for a decent rise.

Disagreements welcome as always. :o)

cynic - 22 Aug 2006 11:43 - 171 of 301

hi soul* ..... as i mentioned to you, the figures will assuredly be terrific, but they are already well flagged ..... for myself, i shall wait until after they are announced as i do not feel the odds are well stacked at the moment for continuing upward spiral.

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 11:49 - 172 of 301

We shall see - I'm still young and dumb enough that I have to try everything out and sometimes learn the hard way :o)

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 11:53 - 173 of 301

got in at 80p including costs, anyway!

PS I don't know much about RSI's, not being a particularly dedicated technical analyst. However, I would have thought that amongst the smaller caps, the RSI tends to be less applicable due to the obvious volatility inherent in such stocks. It would be another thing to compare, say, FTSE-100 stocks with the index as that would compare like with like. What do you think?

cynic - 22 Aug 2006 12:00 - 174 of 301

I am no analyst either, but RSI must have relevance whatever the stock ..... with RSI for VLK standing at 80, my view is that one needs to be quite or even pretty brave to dive in now.... of course, it may be that the figures are just so stunning that any profit-taking is easily absorbed, but surely the odds do not favour that?
