I can smell a deal in the air today,gavdfc..

gavdfc - 11 Nov 2004 08:03 - 1567 of 7811

Hi Dave, like that smell. A couple of aces would be nice!

sandrew64 - 11 Nov 2004 08:07 - 1568 of 7811

SWW
Sorry didn't mean to appear so stroppy yesterday and would be very grateful for any tips, etc. for the chicken brick. Unfortunately the kind soul who donated it to the charity shop didn't include the instuction booklet....ah well, what do you expect for that price.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 08:35 - 1569 of 7811

sandrew64 - do not worry too much.

We all have to be big enough to realise that our own point of view is not always shared by others.

No offence taken.

I personally wish all contributers vry good fortune because ultimately we are all intertwined within the same web, trying to avoid the spider!

No that don't work, I'll try;

We are all little Leprechauns try to find our pot of gold.

Better, but not much!

Oh well you know what I mean.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 08:36 - 1570 of 7811

Hello People, and you Dave.

This board was lively before you came on it, but by golly, it really is busy and fun now!

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 08:49 - 1571 of 7811

Well, not having much knowledge of Desire Petroleum, I read up late into the night.

I jumped in this morning.

Another good prospect imo.

Is that what you thought sandrew64?

gavdfc - 11 Nov 2004 08:52 - 1572 of 7811

Hi SWW,

What price did you get into them at if you don't mind me asking? No doubt you'll be in profit already. They do seem to have gone up pretty fast though.

sandrew64 - 11 Nov 2004 08:58 - 1573 of 7811

Haven't looked into this one yet only briefly looked at fogl and goo. Need some profits from something before I can reinvest. Hopefully soon.......... a good one is it?

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 08:59 - 1574 of 7811

I took 60p.

This will be a long term hold till 2006/7 also.

They have found by seismic lakes of oil and gas.

They are looking for partners but will hold 50% of all tranches.

Looks very good.

We can all wish to have been in earlier but in this case, this is still early in the development so volatile it will be, nbut the results will come in.

Better bet than PET having seen that RNS I am no longer sure............

gavdfc - 11 Nov 2004 09:07 - 1575 of 7811

I wish you well with that SWW. I notice there was an article on Oil Barrel about DES this morning, I'm sure you'll have read it.

Does look good for the long term. FRom what I recall they are not drilling until the end of next year? Look for a partner on some and keep some, not a bad strategy. I'm sure they will get their partners if oil is there in recoverable quantities in the seismic.

It will be volatile in the short term, remember what happened the last time the sp rose so quickly on rumours, but seems different this time as seismic has been gathered.

As for PET, never been a fan. Don't like where they intend to drill, Iraq, far to volatile. But that's just IMO. Good luck with DES.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:11 - 1576 of 7811

gavdfc thank you.

Yes the oilbarrel.com did it for me.

Thne oil is recoverable they say so full steam ahead.

Have we all noticed our African Partnetrs are all creaping up today?

Not big volumes, the price of oil as far as I know is dropping, and they are going up.

It may be no coincidence that the wire kine logs are probably run about now on Tiof.

Mind you, I thought the drops were overdone for Capitaine.

gavdfc - 11 Nov 2004 09:21 - 1577 of 7811

Noticed that HNR moved up a touch. Perhaps we will get the Tiof-3 results next week, we should be getting them soon. Thought you might have gone back into HNR for a short term gain.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:25 - 1578 of 7811

It was a tough decision.

In the end, I decided with the cash I had remaining I would not put all my eggs in one basket.

SEY does have the best prospects out of that bunch plus the price is right.

Said that but I also have enough without going too silly.

Plain and simple.

I still hold some PRE, which are well in blue, so if I need to cut anything it can be them short term.

Mind you things are afoot there too.

Waiting games.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:28 - 1579 of 7811

Up 7 already on DES.

Should have jumped in first thing!

Twit!!

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:31 - 1580 of 7811

FOGL:- they are 3 years behind DES, and are in a different area with differnet rock strata, so the rises IMO are not sustainable.

Sounds like a decent plan to spread the risk. We all wish we had more funds to buy as much of everything we want, unfortunately it doesn't work that way for most of us. One day though!

As far as Mauritania goes, happy with just holding SEY for a play on that area. If was to take another in that area it would be HNR, but happy with SEY. Also PCI for a punt and SIA for a few years. Vietnam looks like it could be big for SIA. Agree about the waiting games. Money flying out of PCI, no doubt to buy others and feel they will be back in a couple of weeks.

Also holding some other stuff, MPH, AHT, NLR and in and out of some others.

Apologies to all for going O/T.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:40 - 1583 of 7811

May be outside the thread, but most likely holders of SEY will hold other Oil & Gas.

Always good to swop opinions.

gavdfc - 11 Nov 2004 09:46 - 1584 of 7811

Agree SWW about swapping stock ideas. Always good to hear others opinions and what they hold.

Wonder if you will make the Sea Wall today?? Or glued to your screen all day watching the DES action!!!

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:48 - 1585 of 7811

Been out and done the Sea Wall, just as the dawn was breaking!

That is why I missed the off..............

It cost me 10p per share.

Mind you it has done well for me already.

ps I am now broke. Well my share account anyway!
