On 18 May'09 there was news of StatoilHydro has reached agreement with BPC to become the
operator of three offshore exploration licences

Chief Operating Officer Paul Crevello said :
"Some of the structures are very large. There is potential for multiple 500 million cubic meter (of reserves) fields,"
"BPC was also interested in "farming out" to partners its remaining five licences offshore Bahamas."

Now at 3.75p, Broker Fox-davies has a 13p price target on the company.

I posted a few weeks ago that "BPC are pricing rigs at the moment, ready for drilling up to 7 wells on the Cuban side of the Bahamas. Because the Bahamas government is not looking to interfere with existing licences and is not granting any new licences, despite being swamped with applications apparently, BPC has the field to itself."

I haven't seen or heard how things are going but maybe the SP is just following prospective progress.

so tell me why the bahamas should have loads of oil any more than say southend or skegness?

Why not? Or because it's a nicer place to have to drill big holes in the seabed? :o)

If i had a choice of Skegness or Bahamas to dig a hole.......defo bahamas!!

you could also have southend! ..... BVI does ok for me .... not many virgins; even fewer of them british, but at least the services they offer are tax free!

I'm all for a bit of tax free at the southend, if you know what I mean!

rearend however can be very taxing without the benefit of a some gentle lubrication to ease things along - or so i am advised

What with no more licenses to be granted by the Bahamas govt it looks like BPC has a total monopoly in h/carbon exploration in this region ,,,, l opened a position at a tad shy of 5p what seems about 10 minutes ago .....but wish id bought in volume now and played the % on this one ... Will be awaiting any retraction in s/p ..,,,,,,,,,,,But who knows ? That day may never come; as this is one heck of a resilient powerhouse of a stock......................

TFC - apart from playing the momentum game, what makes you think there's any oil?

It has been said somewhere, I admit I cannot remember where but I will investigate, there is oil seeping up from the sea bed. Not that it means there are billions of gallons underneath of course. It is certainly worth investigating though!
