cynic - 20 Apr 2007 13:21 - 1573 of 2511

did not say buy at that level ..... more inclined to look at shorting at this level and then perhaps close position at 40 ..... not the same thing

robvernon - 20 Apr 2007 14:43 - 1574 of 2511

cynic... you didn't miss anything in the article...you clearly have more of an insight than I do, I didn't realise these could just be rantings from Mitvol so thanks for the views..I guess that's why the SP hasn't dropped any further. I just hope VOG isn't another EEL as I will have no more fingers left to be burnt if this goes down the pan!

cynic - 20 Apr 2007 14:56 - 1575 of 2511

confess i only skimmed the article, so i may be wrong ..... as for VOG, i am afraid that having been a long-time fan a year or so back, i burnt myself quite badly (damn fool!) by buying back in when i thought sp had dropped sufficiently, following which it tanked almost o'night ...... does not feel to me that there is anything good for VOG, certainly in the immediate future ..... that is why i am quite tempted to short

HARRYCAT - 20 Apr 2007 15:49 - 1576 of 2511

I agree, except that I think that the following:

" Drilling begun at Well 73, first of six new wells at Kemerkol oil project"

will produce the usual hype & boost to the sp as each peice of news becomes imminent.

"Well 73 will be drilled to a depth of 1,350 metres updip of Well 20, which has
been producing oil since March 2006. Well 73 will be constructed in two stages
with a static rig used for drilling and a truck-mounted work-over rig to be
moved in for completion and testing. This operation is expected to take around
two months."
So I think early June should be the first piece of news.

new boy - 22 Apr 2007 13:24 - 1577 of 2511

Still debating about this stock, some things never change.

Kemerkol might be producing 500 bpd by mid summer. and well 103 is still on test and was last flowing at 350 bpd of condensate hardly any thing to get exicted about, with a market cap of 60 million this would fall further if it wasnt for the unproven resources.

What a joke, at this price its worth a small flutter, but being relistic theres plenty of time to get into the action , if and when its producing 1000s of bpd and cash flow positive.

Each to there own, some times its best to wait and watch, good luck to all those who hold though.

cynic - 22 May 2007 08:33 - 1579 of 2511

arguably worth a small punt, but to trade rather than hang on to for grim death

700202 - 22 May 2007 08:37 - 1580 of 2511

News soon after write up in the Times today on update west/m gas fortune.

skyhigh - 22 May 2007 09:23 - 1581 of 2511

Rumour of the day (The Times today)

Shares in Victoria Oil & Gas rose 2p to 45p on talk that the company was close to providing a drilling update on its West Medvezhye gas project in Siberia the first since a management shake-up in January. The shares reached a high of 274p last year after an independent study showed 5,500 billion cubic feet of gas at the site, although that figure was reined back later.

lizard - 22 May 2007 09:35 - 1582 of 2511

rns- more delays.

skyhigh - 22 May 2007 09:38 - 1583 of 2511

another false dawn damp squib...can see this drifting below 40p maybe even sub 30p beckons...ouch!

cynic - 22 May 2007 09:42 - 1584 of 2511

glad i resisted temptation (greed) but i don't think i can persuade myself to short either

lizard - 22 May 2007 09:44 - 1585 of 2511

more delays but it aint all bad imo.

cynic - 22 May 2007 09:48 - 1586 of 2511

why is it not all bad? ..... the parson's egg wasn't either! ...... 40 is certainly the next support, but there is no obvious reason why even that should hold ...... VOG has disappointed far too often and the market has had enough ....... see EME and ELP for similar share performance

geoffsh - 22 May 2007 17:44 - 1587 of 2511

An update from Kazakhstan is due out within the week, let us hope it is very positive.

cynic - 22 May 2007 20:56 - 1588 of 2511

am i even more stupid that i thought? ..... i was under the impression that today's rns said no news for a further 6/8 weeks

geoffsh - 22 May 2007 22:02 - 1589 of 2511

It will be approximately ten weeks before further news on well103.An update regarding Kemerkol should definitely be released within the next week.Perhaps they have chosen to get the negative news out of the way before they announce some positive news.

HARRYCAT - 22 May 2007 22:07 - 1590 of 2511

Well now, Cynic, there's a question!
Not wishing to cast aspertions, but it depends on whether you consider Russia to be a seperate entity from Kazakhstan.
West Medvezhye field is in Russia, Tamdykol & kemerkol fields are in Kazakhstan.
West Med has just reported; geoffsh thinks that one of the fields in Kazakhstan is due to report.
But, having just scraped through O'level geography a while back, I am still using an atlas that shows the USSR! :o)

WOODIE - 24 May 2007 07:11 - 1591 of 2511

good call geoffsh

Test Results Exceed Expectations for Well 73 at Kemerkol Oil Project, Kazakhstan

Initial flow response of 450 barrels per day on 12 millimetre choke,
significantly more than initial expectations
Three oil-bearing intervals intersected with a combined gross thickness of
30 metres
Drill rig on site at new target Well 62

The Board of Victoria Oil & Gas Plc ('Victoria' or 'the Company')(AIM:VOG), the
oil and gas development company focused on the Former Soviet Union, today
announces better than expected test results from Well 73 at its wholly owned
Kemerkol oil project in the Atyrau Oblast of Kazakhstan.

The first of a new six well development programme at Kemerkol, Well 73 was
successfully drilled to a depth of 1,250 metres penetrating the Triassic
formation updip of Well 20. The well intersected three oil-bearing intervals
between depths of 1,169 - 1,208 metres with a combined gross thickness of over
30 metres.

The intervals flowed oil at a rate of 450 barrels per day with no water and only
traces of gas from a 20 metre perforation interval on a 12 millimetre choke.
During the flow period for the pressure build-up survey, the well produced 440
barrels per day at a reduced choke size of seven millimetres. The choke will
remain at this reduced size during an initial production period of four to six
weeks, after which it can be enlarged to optimise oil output.

Meanwhile the drilling rig has been mobilised to the site of the next well, 62,
on the eastern side of the licence block. The eastern side was not mapped in
detail by the previous 2D seismic survey, but the Company's own 3D survey has
revealed a number of potential targets.

The workover of Well 20 has been completed, but the Company is awaiting the
necessary permits to be issued by the relevant Kazakh authorities before test
production can recommence.

Tony Porter, CEO of Victoria Oil & Gas, said today, 'Well 73 has exceeded our
expectations and given us the perfect start to our development campaign for
Kemerkol. We had anticipated a flow rate close to that of Well 20's original
production level, but instead it is significantly higher. I should also point
out that we are still not at the crest of the formation. We are almost ready to
begin drilling of Well 62, our next target on the other side of the licence
block. This area had not previously been explored in as much depth and a good
result could be very significant for Kemerkol and Victoria.'
