Up 7 already on DES.

Should have jumped in first thing!

Twit!!

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:31 - 1580 of 7811

FOGL:- they are 3 years behind DES, and are in a different area with differnet rock strata, so the rises IMO are not sustainable.

Sounds like a decent plan to spread the risk. We all wish we had more funds to buy as much of everything we want, unfortunately it doesn't work that way for most of us. One day though!

As far as Mauritania goes, happy with just holding SEY for a play on that area. If was to take another in that area it would be HNR, but happy with SEY. Also PCI for a punt and SIA for a few years. Vietnam looks like it could be big for SIA. Agree about the waiting games. Money flying out of PCI, no doubt to buy others and feel they will be back in a couple of weeks.

Also holding some other stuff, MPH, AHT, NLR and in and out of some others.

Apologies to all for going O/T.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:40 - 1583 of 7811

May be outside the thread, but most likely holders of SEY will hold other Oil & Gas.

Always good to swop opinions.

gavdfc - 11 Nov 2004 09:46 - 1584 of 7811

Agree SWW about swapping stock ideas. Always good to hear others opinions and what they hold.

Wonder if you will make the Sea Wall today?? Or glued to your screen all day watching the DES action!!!

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:48 - 1585 of 7811

Been out and done the Sea Wall, just as the dawn was breaking!

That is why I missed the off..............

It cost me 10p per share.

Mind you it has done well for me already.

ps I am now broke. Well my share account anyway!

If the Sterling placing is so heavily oversubscribed, can somebody explain to a simpleton like me why it is that evo won't come off the offer?

Keep your purse buttoned up for now Dazzling D.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:51 - 1587 of 7811

Hil sorry, outside of my experince.

Nice colours though!

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:53 - 1588 of 7811

Gav:- DES people who are taking profit are investing in PRE see the price rise?

Picked up that info on ADVFN.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 09:57 - 1589 of 7811

Dave make your own decison.

Any doubts then stay out!

Same with you hilary.

gavdfc - 11 Nov 2004 10:03 - 1590 of 7811

SWW, noticed that PRE moving up. Maybe your Danbury news is on the way. Don't know too much about them though. Seems to be money moving from one oil stock to another at the moment. Quick profit for you on DES though.

Hilary, couldn't comment on EVO. Not been checking L2 as my trial ran out a few days ago.

hilary - 11 Nov 2004 10:03 - 1591 of 7811

SWW,

I'm not here to knock your stock and I'm not here to get personal ..... I'd go to ADVFN for that!! I'm just trying to help a few others.

hilary - 11 Nov 2004 10:04 - 1592 of 7811

gavdfc,

EVO have been on the offer for days. Ask yourself why that is.

gavdfc - 11 Nov 2004 10:11 - 1593 of 7811

Hilary, fair comment, but we all make our own decisions in what we do.

proptrade - 11 Nov 2004 10:28 - 1594 of 7811

good morning all....

late start and it took me 10 minutes to get through the postings!

SWW, into DES. I have to say this is one that i believe will take a breather over the coming weeks when the euphoria dies down. it is one of those stocks where you are in at 15p or you are not and can sit back and wait for the pullback. I hope that it stays above 60p for your sake but if the possibilities are that great then i think there will be some consolidation when the news abates and switchers move into the next story. i do of course respect you for putting your money where your mouth is....

Hilary, I wouldn't read anything about EVO being on the offer in SEY. Tactically if they were on the bid it would look like they were attempting to support the price. As with any MM, especially one underwritting the issue, politically they have to be involved on the touch and in reality with such a small NMS they would be your first port of call if you want to deal in size. If they weren't on the touch at all and missed a chunk of secondary business they would not be doing their job or indeed taking advantage of a lead position in what has become a more widely held stock and hopefully one that will increase mkt cap.

a long winded explanation but one i hope dismisses any vicious rumours about the success of the placement.

sandrew64 - 11 Nov 2004 10:28 - 1595 of 7811

SWW
Thanks for the comment re FOGL, a bit distracted by PET at the moment so not looking into other possibles fully. Also hold HNR,PRE,PCI and a small holding in FTO. Others include:MPH,ASC and DFD(oddly enough one of my most profitable holdings..but seems very few people in on it).But enough of that....nice to see HNR on the rebound today...trying to remember how the share price reacted to last drilling campaign in terms of disappointments but just remember lots of good news. Nearly had these for two years so may as well hang on another month for tax drop...although if PET is a no go tax will be irrelevant.Thought it would make more sense to top up SEY as future return should be a lot higher than HNR.
Need tea and toast after all that!

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 10:32 - 1596 of 7811

Call me a bottler, saw the pull back on DES and sold +7.

A long term hold indeed.

seawallwalker - 11 Nov 2004 10:34 - 1597 of 7811

PET is looking horrible!

PRE is looking good.

Bolivian news expected there and Danbury Dome.

proptrade - 11 Nov 2004 10:42 - 1598 of 7811

great trading SWW. you had me worried there for a moment!
