Media Corp (Gaming Corpoartion GMC)Attracting Some Big Names. (MDC)

goldfinger - 05 Dec 2003 00:33

Up nearlly 15% today and I beleive there could be more to come.

Evil Knievil has tipped it on EvilCast and has bought in 100,000 worth of stock a notifiable interest. He rates the management very highly and says they are attracting all the big bookmakers to the online casino site including punters the likes of William Hill, Chandler, and Ladbrokes. The company are now running at a profit every month and should break into a yearly profit from the years previous loss very soon. The company also ownes in partnership with a Swiss firm Boss another casino site and by all accounts that is doing well.

Im looking at this one as a momentum play pretty high risk as there are competitors out there but I feel the management will give it the edge.

Please DYOR, and remember you are responsible for your own buying and selling actions.

cheers GF.

Just sold half and will give it another hour before I jump back in. Oh what fun it is!

EWRobson - 25 Feb 2005 13:03 - 159 of 1117

24 million shares traded today against a share cap. of 164M, that nearly 15% of the share capital. So there is an acute shortage of stock. Could mean it could go too far too fast like Humpy Dumpty - mind he probably didn't climb his wall that fast! On the other hand, supported by the Evil minions so its worth staying in board. 60p - here we come, ever faster, ever higher!

Evils just been on tips.com and said that there is a rumour going about that SBT met up with GMC this last monday and there is a 25p bid on the table from SBT. Just broadcast.

cheers GF.

Paulo2 - 25 Feb 2005 13:34 - 161 of 1117

From the man.

I see that Gaming Corp (GMC) is now 17p. Who was it who suggested that the shares were overvalued at 7p? Diarist, diarist where for art thou? Anyhow there are rumours that Sportingbet (SBT) is going to bid at 25p a share and that the two companies met on Monday. By Jove that would be a result. I have not got the foggiest whether the rumour is true or not and really don't give two hoots. All I know is that Gaming is really humming and I am happy to stay long. Not a share will I sell.

Sooner44 - 25 Feb 2005 14:13 - 162 of 1117

Hey all. I've just come in on this, late I realise, but better late than miss it all together. Any more info on the bid spec?

Sooner44 - 25 Feb 2005 14:18 - 163 of 1117

All seen the statement from the Management. We were up at 18.25 mid and within minutes we're down to 17.5 mid - despite some more buys. No comment on the Bid spec?

jimmy b. Same here. Its really annoying when you see a gem u have missed, but its even more annoying when you think about getting on board and pass it over on the grounds that its took its course. How wrong I was. Is anyone holding still buying?

chad - 25 Feb 2005 14:33 - 166 of 1117

snaylor - 25 Feb 2005 15:09 - 169 of 1117

I bought in today at 17.3, and its proving to be the best decision ever. Cant leave the screen though, GMC brings too much excitement. I thought it was too late but was proved wrong over and over. Get on board, it really is better than watching from the sidelines!!

bhunt1910 - 25 Feb 2005 15:28 - 170 of 1117

I bagged my profits last night (as I had only borrowed from the bank on a day trade)- so missed the early action this morning - but have gone back in 3 times today at 16.16, 16.25 and 16.75.

Will have to sell again tonight to clear my position as I am fully invested elsewher in SEO and NLR amongst others

Dont want to sell anyhing at the moment - its soooooooo exciting.

Memo to self - find out more about CFD's

marshy69 - 25 Feb 2005 17:18 - 173 of 1117

hello gentlemen

rolling with this share for the time being

Fill the boots!!!

mickeyskint - 25 Feb 2005 17:50 - 174 of 1117

That was a fun day. Now what is going to happen next week. Can we belive Evil when he said that he is not going to sell? Yes of course we can. 60p would do me very nicely. The fact that an offer of 25p is on the table would indicate to me the shares are worth a lot more. 25p may well be the opening bid. If the Directors are as good as Evil thinks then 25p won't come near.

LOL

EWRobson - 25 Feb 2005 19:55 - 175 of 1117

Agree, mickey (hey, I've just agreed with you somewhere else!). Good thing would be to have a 25p bid - turned down. Interesting RNS. Read out to me by blue index and my response was - nothing new there! I suspect just to divert the flak! Hold for 60p folk or at least a decent part of the journey. Won't take long at supersonic speeds!

bhunt: re CFDs, drop me an e-mail if you want to discuss.

NEWS

POKERS BOOM HITS ONLINE GAMBLING

A study has revealed that the recent poker boom has not only reached casinos across the world, but computers world wide too. A study completed by consulting firm MECN analyses one of the hottest topics in the gambling industry online poker.

As gambling reinvents itself constantly it seems online poker is the product that seems to be the current guarantor of future growth rates.

The success story of online poker began some years ago, and as Martin Oelbermann, co-author of the study, explains "Online poker is the perfect symbiosis of two mega trends in gambling: online gambling and poker."

What began as triumphant advance in the USA is now leading to a global poker wave on the Internet with tremendous potential.

- The amount gambled on poker websites around the world in 2005 is estimated to be more than USD 60 billion.

- More than 60% of the industry experts surveyed believe that online poker will be the dominant offer in online gambling in 2-3 years.

- 75% of the industry experts surveyed believe that the global annual rake/commission in the 2-3 years will be more than USD 4 billion.

Another important reason for the rapid growth of online poker is the increasing number of successful TV shows featuring poker, and as Martin Oelbermann explains, "When poker is on the air, it's the online poker sites that profit instantaneously." There are many examples of successful poker TV coverage, among them the World Series of Poker on ESPN, Celebrity Poker on Bravo, and the European Poker Tour on Eurosport.

Online poker has also gone up in the estimation of the global business and financial community. Betting heavyweight Sportingbet just recently bought poker site Paradise Poker for about USD 300 million. "Not a bad price for a site launched in 1999, but more than 53% of the experts surveyed believe this price to be appropriate investors just seem to love the online poker story," adds Martin Oelbermann. A statement that seems to be confirmed by whispers that PartyGaming/iGlobalMedia (PartyPoker) is planning an IPO with an estimated evaluation between USD 4 billion and 8 USD billion.

But the MECN study also points out that the online poker market will become a tougher market in the future. With decreasing revenues per active player and growing competition, the poker operators have to find successful strategies for the future. The industry insiders surveyed recommend as the most important strategies for the future the creation of poker networks, the entry into the market by more betting brands such as Ladbrokes, and the consolidation of poker sites.

When it comes to geographical expansion, Europe seems to be the place to go; 52% of the experts believe that Europe offers the greatest future potential for online poker. Market leader PartyPoker, for example, is planning to launch its presence on television throughout Europe very soon and already operates its site in one other language besides English, namely, German.

The study can be obtained at http://www.poker.mecn.net
