Lambykins's Dutch Coffee House - ADULTS ONLY (LAMB)

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2005 23:56

CLOSED - THANKS to all customers for the last few years

stockbunny - 11 Jun 2007 14:27 - 15823 of 24230

I find an escape hatch to the top of the nearest hill is favourable for us warren dwellingers ;>)

JStratford - 11 Jun 2007 15:38 - 15824 of 24230

Talking of flooding... useless information for the day. When surveyed, the majority of Londoners said they would head for the underground stations if they heard sirens, assuming them to be air-raid sirens instead of flood warnings.

Socrates - 11 Jun 2007 15:42 - 15825 of 24230

They would be dead wrong then.

JStratford - 11 Jun 2007 16:02 - 15826 of 24230

Anyone for tea? (or Whiskey, Guiness, etc...)

KEAYDIAN - 11 Jun 2007 16:08 - 15827 of 24230

I'll have a wee dram.

JStratford - 11 Jun 2007 16:17 - 15828 of 24230

You want me to leave the bottle out for you as well? :-)

stockbunny - 11 Jun 2007 16:38 - 15829 of 24230

Bloody 'ell - how old were these Londoners....air raids? LOL

stockbunny - 11 Jun 2007 16:39 - 15830 of 24230

No weeing in the dram please ;>)

JStratford - 11 Jun 2007 16:57 - 15831 of 24230

I think the point was that must of them were too young to tell the difference between the sirens, and again not knowing that it is possible for London to flood!!!

Do you think we could start up our own distillery?

stockbunny - 11 Jun 2007 17:02 - 15832 of 24230

LOL what with Keaydian around? Could do assuming we don't want to have any stock! ;>)
Just strikes me as odd that's all,the idea of an air raid occurring to people who are below pensionable age...now if they had said a bomb warning siren, that would have made sense...it's just been an incredibly long time since air raids were an issue - unless they really are so out of touch they think terrorists have their own supply of planes!

stockbunny - 11 Jun 2007 17:09 - 15833 of 24230

Light early dinner I think....
salmon pasta salad with peppers and spring onions from the yard opps garden out the back...followed by yoghurt and fresh cherries.

KEAYDIAN - 11 Jun 2007 17:10 - 15834 of 24230

:O(

(Shouts through the door) I'm in the gents again, aaaaahhhhhhhhhh.

JStratford - 11 Jun 2007 17:12 - 15835 of 24230

If it was a bomb warning then I definitely would not be heading for the underground!

Perhaps we could produce more than K. can drink, after all we could keep him supplied with the rough stuff and keep him in a semi-concious state. That way no problem with him trying to find his axe either :-)

Dinner sounds good - Thanks.

Socrates - 11 Jun 2007 17:15 - 15836 of 24230

I am going to spend some time in the hammock eating my ice cream. My own make, rum and banana. A bit heavy on the rum but nice all the same. Use only a stainless steel spoon, cheaper metal ones seem to dissolve somehow!

Help yourselves if so inclined. (Government health warnings apply).

stockbunny - 11 Jun 2007 17:25 - 15837 of 24230

No I agree with you JS, people are strange aren't they...maybe heard stories from the last war of how people headed for the underground as safety, gawd more recent events would prove that a bad idea! Hampstead heath is possibly about the highest ground I suppose - for a flood - or better still the post office tower, having packed provisions first of course.

Wouldn't like to guess how much it would take to keep K in a semi-conscious state...sounds like a rod for our own backs to me...we need another string to our bow...but what?

JStratford - 11 Jun 2007 17:26 - 15838 of 24230

Don't ask me... but this ice cream is very good... hic!

stockbunny - 11 Jun 2007 17:26 - 15839 of 24230

JS - you#re not short the dow are you? Basing this question on the fact that you said always go in the opposite direction to you and my ftse short ain't doing a lot cos the dow is holding up! ;>)

JStratford - 11 Jun 2007 17:33 - 15840 of 24230

I was Bunny, but I've just closed out so you should be fine now!!!

stockbunny - 11 Jun 2007 17:38 - 15841 of 24230

LOL ;>)
Glass of wine?
wonder if Socs wants one? mind you on top of all that rum...him being in a hammock...may not be a good idea...

BTW it seems K is locked in the loo again, you'll have to get him out, I obviously can't go in the gents. (thats me off the hook!)
;>)

JStratford - 11 Jun 2007 17:49 - 15842 of 24230

Thanks muchly. Yep K. is locked in, I thought it wise what with the axe sharpner guy coming tomorrow :-)
