So far we've had grannyboy the cheerleader, grannyboy the poodle, now we have grannyboy the philosopher, lamenting the state of society. As you tend to be abusive and patronising to other posters who don't agree with your master, dont be surprised if those same posters have a giggle at your expense. It's called reaping what you sow. But if you had read all I posted you would have noticed that I hoped no one was in too deep. Ta-da

Precisely. I seem to remenber I got squelched for suggesting that RKH's costs of extraction per barrel would be substantial.

I can't believe people are already talking on the assumption that the upper three targets have failed. We don't even know if the first target has failed because the results have not been released. They haven't even reached the Target Depth of the upper target alone.
Pro - "The only one left is Three Bears - by the time the crew change happened last Friday its unlikely they were into Three Bears, so thats an unknown." Actually, there're all unknown

Although the RNS didn't have any bad news, it wasn't exactly trying to reassure us!!
More importantly, what clues can we pick up from the fact that they had to "run an additional string of casing in the top section of the well"????? Does that sound suspicious or not?

Cortez - My thoughts on this are now well clear - and I am not expecting anything commercial from Loligo - thats in my opinion.
There are some very interesting conclusions to be drawn from the drilling results - which I will go into only after the results are out - and I have purchased a lot at a low price on a duster (or purchased a top up on any good news - but not expecting that).

so after 1500 posts of pseudo-science purporting to prove that the kingpin of FOGL was a shoo-in certainty for finding oil, then gas (120% certain), suddenly all is sackcloth and ashes

cynic - nobody has ever claimed FOGL will find anything on this drill.
The speculation was purely over what it could be worth if they did - obviously if they do not then the Loligo prospect is worth nothing.
Thats quite simple to understand - unless you are an idiot.
You can keep going on all you like - do you honestly think anyone cares ? in particular me ? ;) LOL

i confess i could not be bothered to wade through your reams of "research", hard thugh assuredly you worked to put them together ..... however, your hypotheses sure gave the impression that Loligo was a red-hot certainty and indeed, i recollect picking up the customary abuse - not necessarily from you - when suggesting that the odds of finding anything were 5/1 at the very best, and probably longer.
i'm sure your wallet is hurting badly, even if you bought at an average of +/-50p, for you stubbornly resisted my own recommendation that you should take at least partial profits when sp was very considerably higher ...... your logic for not so doing was always faulty, as i propounded

cynic, I have considerable profits already - the question was would they have been raised by 3000% or lowered by 50%.
The end result, so far, is they were lowered by 50% - but still giving me 50%.
Had Loligo come in with a big strike I would have been looking at 3000%+ profits - not just 50%.
I am more than happy playing that game :)

The only blessing cynic, going forward - is that the drill was quick and trouble free.
BOR had terrible trouble with abnormal gas pressure - they were drilling in the Fold Belt - very high pressure area, lots of potential stringers and all sorts - bad place to drill and they found out.
FOGL were out drilling in the channels - well away from the nasty high pressure stuff that lost BOR so much time with their drilling.
So it bodes well for the next drill that there will be no issues with high pressure and drilling will be quick - on budget and not over running by tens of millions of dollars - like BOR.
Just need to hit something of value in a reservoir - the key - nuff said Sherlock.

No they don't rf. All just speculation and trying to read between the lines in the RNS.
