optomistic - 26 Jun 2007 09:14 - 16177 of 24230

Yes lots of water here Blue. I'm not affected at home but had a hazardous journey home from Leeds yesterday.

Bluelady - 26 Jun 2007 09:16 - 16178 of 24230

It can't be easy driving in floods. I was also reading about the 3 deaths which was very sad.

optomistic - 26 Jun 2007 09:18 - 16179 of 24230

Looking at the depth and flow of the water I think we have been fortunate that there has not been more tragedies.

Bluelady - 26 Jun 2007 09:22 - 16180 of 24230

I suppose that is one way of looking at it especially as they have discovered cracks in the walls of the Ulley reservoir.

JStratford - 26 Jun 2007 09:30 - 16181 of 24230

When I was on the teaching rounds last weekend I had to cross the local river at a couple of seperate places. Every time there was a group of teenagers playing around. When I stopped and asked them what they though they where doing, they replied that it couldn't possible be dangerous because that wouldn't be allowed!

optomistic - 26 Jun 2007 09:37 - 16182 of 24230

Tme for a cuppa!

Bluelady - 26 Jun 2007 09:40 - 16183 of 24230

I suppose that is always the problem isn't it with teenagers, they never see the danger and think that adults are boring!!! The boy who was killed went with friends, out of their way to see this unusual event after school.

Bluelady - 26 Jun 2007 09:40 - 16184 of 24230

Optomistic, that would make three cups in an hour, lol.

Socrates - 26 Jun 2007 09:41 - 16185 of 24230

There is one rule for driving in floods.......DON'T.

As for tea in bed in Yorkshire, the neighbours would know immediately because of the footprints in the mud.

Now for a cuppa, well a mug actually, I'm more of a mug person at this time of day.

JStratford - 26 Jun 2007 09:44 - 16186 of 24230

Opto, coffee, tea of guiness?

Morning Socs, good advice :-)

Have to say I don't think it's just teenagers knowing everything again, after all I can remember being one of them, it just seems that they couldn't comprehend that there was any danger at all, almost as if it wouldn't be allowed to be dangerous. Still, that's the playstation generation for you... rsi in the wrists instead of broken bones from falling out of trees.

optomistic - 26 Jun 2007 09:44 - 16187 of 24230

Morning Socco, I like mugs, cups are so small hence the three in an hour Blue :-)
Guinness JS... not so early!

stockbunny - 26 Jun 2007 10:52 - 16188 of 24230

Morning - what a week! Hope no-one in here is affected by the flooding, awful....
Reminder for one and all there is also a postal strike on Thursday to add to the chaos so basically put together that and the weather and if you're expecting anything important thru the post you may as well forget it.

Cuppa for me, dry here today, trying to clear a mass of washing LOL

JStratford - 26 Jun 2007 11:23 - 16189 of 24230

Morning Bunny. One cup of tea, looks like the grey clouds are rolling in again so good luck with the washing :-)

stockbunny - 26 Jun 2007 11:29 - 16190 of 24230

Well as long as it skirts round my washing line! LOL
Fancy a choccie biccie?

JStratford - 26 Jun 2007 11:45 - 16191 of 24230

That's a difficult one... biscuit yes, choccie bad for ones figure. Perhaps one of those with fruit in might be better for one, but only the one thank you :-)

stockbunny - 26 Jun 2007 11:59 - 16192 of 24230

Okey-dokey :>)

ptholden - 26 Jun 2007 12:08 - 16193 of 24230

I'll eat all the choccie ones then, no figure to speak of here, never mind a six pack, gotta little barrel to look after :)

stockbunny - 26 Jun 2007 12:13 - 16194 of 24230

Plenty for you to munch on PTH :>)
Quiet in here isn't it?

ptholden - 26 Jun 2007 12:15 - 16195 of 24230

seemingly quiet all week bunny, talking to myself half the time, but then I have the luxury of sitting here, putting off all the other stuff I should be doing. So I'll munch away. Guess Socs and Bluelady are wrestling with 'cups of tea' in the bedroom. The mind boggles :))

JStratford - 26 Jun 2007 12:18 - 16196 of 24230

Think K.'s still in his room with the trout :-)
