Victoria Oil & Gas Plc

Operational Update at Kemerkol Oil Project, Kazakhstan

Approval of test production project granted by Kazakh authorities
Well 62 drilling completed
Drilling commence at new target, Well 72

Victoria Oil & Gas Plc ('Victoria' or 'the Company'), (AIM:VOG), the oil and gas
company focused on the Former Soviet Union, today announces an update on the
development of its wholly owned Kemerkol oil project in the Atyrau Oblast of
Kazakhstan.

The Company's test production project for the proven reservoir in the western
section of the Kemerkol licence area has been approved by the Kazakh Ministry of
Energy and Natural Resources. This will extend the permitted production period
from three months to three years for all wells drilled in this area, which
currently includes Wells 20, 72 and 73.

Although, the marketing of all oil is still limited to the domestic market, the
project also allows the Company to process its production before sale. This
processing can increase the sale price by 10 - 15% and the majority of surface
infrastructure is already in place.

The project will also permit production to recommence at Well 20, which was shut
in to allow for work-over operations. The reactivation of this well will be
coordinated with a feasibility study for the conversion of Well 45, also
currently shut in, into a water re-injection well.

On the previously untested eastern section of the licence area drilling has been
completed at Well 62 and hydrocarbons were encountered at a depth between 367 -
370 metres. The interval will be completed and perforated for testing purposes,
but the Company does not expect to encounter commercially viable volumes of
hydrocarbons. The Company's mid-year production therefore, exclusive of affects
of the testing programme at Well 73, was 450 barrels of oil per day slightly
less than its target of 500 barrels.

The next target, Well 72, has been spudded and completion is expected in the
next 4 - 6 weeks. This well is located 300 metres north of Well 73 and will
further appraise the proven reservoir in the western section of the licence.

Tony Porter, CEO of Victoria Oil & Gas, said today, 'The approval of our test
production project for the western section of Kemerkol will lengthen the
permitted sales period for our production and allow us to add significant value
through in-house processing. As such, this is an important intermediary step
before we can upgrade Kemerkol to a full production and export licence.

Porter added, 'We will continue to pursue our goal of increasing reserves
through exploration of promising targets in the eastern part of the licence
block. Through Well 72 we aim to increase the yield from the proven structure in
the west and bolster our cash flow, but we shall then return our attention to
further exploration.'

not a very nice update is it ? sp dropped.

lizard - 19 Jul 2007 12:18 - 1622 of 2511

the city are WAITING on 103 still.
needs to be good otherwise the continuous slump will remain.

scottinvestor - 19 Jul 2007 14:16 - 1623 of 2511

is this share ever likely to recover?

Peter123 - 19 Jul 2007 14:26 - 1624 of 2511

Yep your are correct Lizard we are waiting for an update on 103.

skyhigh - 19 Jul 2007 14:37 - 1625 of 2511

when's 103 announcement likely ?

lizard - 19 Jul 2007 16:08 - 1626 of 2511

for about the last week.

nav1000 - 27 Jul 2007 12:28 - 1627 of 2511

been told by george donne, well 103 results will be released early aug/mid aug.

So next week or the week after not too long now.

"Tony Porter, CEO of Victoria Oil & Gas, said today, "The well has so far been
producing at a rate of around 350 barrels per day, but we believe that this may
not be indicative of the potential hydrocarbon flow. This test is very important for the future exploration of the asset and achieving the best quality results possible is vital, even if this lengthens our testing period. An early thaw of the permafrost has frustrated our efforts to commence the test sooner, but we anticipate that the new test will prove more productive."

Waiting to see how productive this test will be!!

A bit of movement here oday - up - down; spread is getting thinner on 79 trades (!), is this a cear sign of imminent news on 103? PT - any TA analysis on this?
Thanks- Simon

HARRYCAT - 02 Aug 2007 14:43 - 1630 of 2511

A good article on VOG on the oilbarrel.com website (dated 25/7/07), outlining it's prospects.
Last para: "We reported at the end of May that Well 103 on the field was successfully perforated in the J2 Jurassic horizon between 3,794-3,799 metres earlier in the year with an initial flow rate of 350 barrels a day of condensate and light oil. But the well also produced water. The company believed the flow rates from the test might have been negatively affected by this water and so planned a second accelerated well test. This was expected to spud in June and take six to eight weeks."
So news should be due soon.

sned - 02 Aug 2007 14:55 - 1631 of 2511

total chart novice - so would know what the chart says, the yuk! bit ....

Harry - and what would improved flow rates be 700 bpd..? and this woud then represent a better portfolio for them .... may be the charts don't lie then if I am to go by C analysis

cynic - 02 Aug 2007 15:00 - 1632 of 2511

very simple these charts ..... sp is at the bottom of its pit with no inclination to rally ..... 25+50 dma (daily moving average) are the red and green lines and are likely to pose some quite solid resistance unless the news is unexpectedly good ...... don't buy!

maddoctor - 02 Aug 2007 15:00 - 1633 of 2511

presently sitting on the old support at 38 (from mid 2005 ) little else to say except if it drops from where it is at the mo then its decision time

there is another support at 30

sned - 02 Aug 2007 15:04 - 1634 of 2511

Thanks all - gd 2 talk, nearly dipped in the when the SP eased ...

HARRYCAT - 02 Aug 2007 15:08 - 1635 of 2511

Don't know the answer to that, sned.
VOG are underfunded & under resourced so these results are going to be critical to future plans. Anything under 500bpd is not going to impress the investors, imo. But often the sp goes up just on expectation with these companies so possibly worth a very speculative, high risk punt.

maddoctor - 02 Aug 2007 15:15 - 1636 of 2511

sned , its all sanity here now , you should have been around when they were going to find 10 trillion million barrels :-)))

sned - 02 Aug 2007 15:18 - 1637 of 2511

hmm! at 350 bpd, now that would have been a waste IMHO

cynic - 02 Aug 2007 15:22 - 1638 of 2511

VOG have disappointed too many too often for too long ...... sp is unlikely to get carried away by hype and expectation ..... if by some fluke VOG come up with something approaching Eldorado, there will be plenty of time to jump in

HARRYCAT - 02 Aug 2007 15:27 - 1639 of 2511

If they come up with Eldorado they are going to be speechless, 'cos it aint the solid stuff they are after!!!:o)
