A bit of movement here oday - up - down; spread is getting thinner on 79 trades (!), is this a cear sign of imminent news on 103? PT - any TA analysis on this?
Thanks- Simon

A good article on VOG on the oilbarrel.com website (dated 25/7/07), outlining it's prospects.
Last para: "We reported at the end of May that Well 103 on the field was successfully perforated in the J2 Jurassic horizon between 3,794-3,799 metres earlier in the year with an initial flow rate of 350 barrels a day of condensate and light oil. But the well also produced water. The company believed the flow rates from the test might have been negatively affected by this water and so planned a second accelerated well test. This was expected to spud in June and take six to eight weeks."
So news should be due soon.

sned - 02 Aug 2007 14:55 - 1631 of 2511

total chart novice - so would know what the chart says, the yuk! bit ....

Harry - and what would improved flow rates be 700 bpd..? and this woud then represent a better portfolio for them .... may be the charts don't lie then if I am to go by C analysis

cynic - 02 Aug 2007 15:00 - 1632 of 2511

very simple these charts ..... sp is at the bottom of its pit with no inclination to rally ..... 25+50 dma (daily moving average) are the red and green lines and are likely to pose some quite solid resistance unless the news is unexpectedly good ...... don't buy!

maddoctor - 02 Aug 2007 15:00 - 1633 of 2511

presently sitting on the old support at 38 (from mid 2005 ) little else to say except if it drops from where it is at the mo then its decision time

there is another support at 30

sned - 02 Aug 2007 15:04 - 1634 of 2511

Thanks all - gd 2 talk, nearly dipped in the when the SP eased ...

HARRYCAT - 02 Aug 2007 15:08 - 1635 of 2511

Don't know the answer to that, sned.
VOG are underfunded & under resourced so these results are going to be critical to future plans. Anything under 500bpd is not going to impress the investors, imo. But often the sp goes up just on expectation with these companies so possibly worth a very speculative, high risk punt.

maddoctor - 02 Aug 2007 15:15 - 1636 of 2511

sned , its all sanity here now , you should have been around when they were going to find 10 trillion million barrels :-)))

sned - 02 Aug 2007 15:18 - 1637 of 2511

hmm! at 350 bpd, now that would have been a waste IMHO

cynic - 02 Aug 2007 15:22 - 1638 of 2511

VOG have disappointed too many too often for too long ...... sp is unlikely to get carried away by hype and expectation ..... if by some fluke VOG come up with something approaching Eldorado, there will be plenty of time to jump in

HARRYCAT - 02 Aug 2007 15:27 - 1639 of 2511

If they come up with Eldorado they are going to be speechless, 'cos it aint the solid stuff they are after!!!:o)

cynic - 02 Aug 2007 16:07 - 1640 of 2511

so far they have come up with solid SHIT, so gold would make a change .... lol!

Victoria Oil & Gas Plc

Drilling Update at Kemerkol Oil Project, Kazakhstan

Victoria Oil & Gas Plc ('Victoria' or 'the Company'), (AIM:VOG), the oil and gas
company focused on the Former Soviet Union, today announces that it has
completed drilling of Well 72 at its wholly owned Kemerkol oil project in the
Atyrau Oblast of Kazakhstan.

The well was drilled to a total depth of 1,279 metres to further appraise the
aerial extent of the producing reservoir in the western section of the licence
block. The well location was determined using logs from Well 73, a producing
well drilled earlier this year and existing seismic data. The main marker
horizon (reflector) used for the seismic data interpretation was the Top
Triassic, which was encountered in Well 73 approximately 90 metres above the
producing horizon.

At Well 72 the Top Triassic was drilled 18 metres higher than in Well 73, as
expected, but the target horizon was encountered at 1,198 metres, almost 130
metres below the Top Triassic due to an incursion of additional strata between
these two horizons. As these strata occurred below the main reflector, they were
not accurately determined on existing seismic maps. The target horizon was
therefore intersected below the oil / water contact and oil saturations in this
horizon are not sufficient for commercial production.

Tony Porter, CEO of Victoria Oil & Gas, said today, 'Our plans for the
development of Kemerkol have not changed. We aim to increase both production and
reserves by adhering to our exploration programme and we firmly believe that
this is still achievable. The next well, Well 70, will be spudded in a matter of
weeks and will target a promising new structure in the south of the licence
block. Furthermore, with the completion of this well we will have sufficient
data from all new wells to improve greatly our seismic model.'

Ugh! groan on !.......................................another duffer! another sp drop !

cynic - 06 Aug 2007 08:32 - 1643 of 2511

from bad to worse ....... 40p was a significant support (conversely now a resistance), and with that now broken significantly, this stock is well worth considering to SHORT ....... from being the market's darling only 18 months ago, it is now the pariah and it is not obvious from where its salavtion will come ...... arguable support at 30, but thereafter, nowt but the pit

smiler o - 06 Aug 2007 09:00 - 1644 of 2511
