More good news tomorrow too??? - and probably of more immediate consequence to the sp?

blackdown - 24 Oct 2008 08:05 - 1668 of 2087

The problem with tomorrow is that it never comes.

Sharesure - 24 Oct 2008 09:47 - 1669 of 2087

You're right - it didn't! 'Reliable source' was not quite as accurate as usual.

Sharesure - 27 Oct 2008 13:11 - 1670 of 2087

And that news has still not been released - when?????

niceonecyril - 28 Oct 2008 09:33 - 1671 of 2087

Empyrean has been advised by Texas Crude Energy Inc ("TCEI") that a coil tubing unit has
arrived to the TCEI JV Block A-4 well in order
to commence procedures to flow back and clean up the well to remove drilling fluids/mud and
conduct a production flow test.

The well intersected at least 1500 feet of high gas readings and gas flares during
drilling of the horizontal portion of the well in the
target upper chalk zone. The operator has commenced drilling fluid clean up and flow back
operations to recover drilling mud.
Empyrean has a working interest of 7.5% in this well.
Should get an update tomorrow from Kowalik, so possible flow rates from two wells (which is needed) in the near future?

Empyrean Energy Plc, the oil and gas explorer and producer with assets in Germany and the USA provides the following update on operations on Block B which is part of the Sugarkane Gas and Condensate Field:

Kowalik -1H Well

Empyrean has been advised by the operator, Texas Crude Energy Inc ('TCEI'), that at 10.30pm Texas time on the 25 October 2008 the Kowalik -1H well had been completed and the Patterson #130 rig was released and commenced mobilisation to the next drilling location.

Once the well site has been cleared, preparations will begin for the production test of Kowalik -1H, which is anticipated to commence within the next 3 days. Results will be announced as soon as possible thereafter. The location has been tied into production and export facilities so that when the test is complete the production can be immediately switched to sales.

Weston -1H

Empyrean has also been advised by TCEI that the next well to be drilled within the Sugarloaf AMI will be the Weston -1H well. The wellsite is located approximately 1.5km to the east of the Kennedy -1H well and it is designed with a 6000 ft horizontal section drilled to the south east.

The well is targeting the upper chalk interval that has successfully produced gas and condensate in Block A wells (A-1 and A-3 wells) and gave positive indications while drilling in the Kowalik -1H well. The well design continues to build upon the knowledge gained from recent operations and offset data.

The well is expected to take approximately 65-90 days from spud date which is anticipated following the rigging up on site of the rig over the next week.

Empyrean has a working interest of 18% in the above wells.

Further updates will be provided following developments.
The information contained in this announcement was completed and reviewed by the Technical Director of Empyrean Energy Plc, Mr Frank Brophy BSc (Hons) who has over 40 years experience as a petroleum geologist.

The future of eme is at last building up into a promising outcome. with such a small mkt. cap. the flow rates should send this up fast. Anyone want to hazard how high?

cynic - 29 Oct 2008 15:18 - 1674 of 2087

anmd what if they disappoint yet again?

Sharesure - 29 Oct 2008 16:48 - 1675 of 2087

Not this time, cynic - that much seems to be assured - it's just how much the reserves are and how much can be extracted/day, from what I understand.

cynic - 29 Oct 2008 16:53 - 1676 of 2087

rotfl! ...... heard that one too often and mopped up the blood afterwards

Sharesure - 30 Oct 2008 09:33 - 1677 of 2087

Don't know what your abbreviation stands for ...but I guess it is not complimentary. Take your choice, but if you are short prepare to take a big hit. I won't try to give you any further gypsy's warnings!

cynic - 30 Oct 2008 09:50 - 1678 of 2087

roll on the floor laughing ..... and no,. i am not short of EME - only WPP and CSR and Dow

Sharesure - 30 Oct 2008 14:35 - 1679 of 2087

Oh, that's very original. Seems the market thinks that there is some good news coming on this one; you stay on the floor if you like.

cynic - 30 Oct 2008 14:36 - 1680 of 2087

shall be delighted to be proven totally and utterly wrong and at least the chart is promising for the moment, though volume is nothing to get excited about

Sharesure: can you get your gypsy to put her fluence on another stock please. You probably know which one!

Sharesure - 30 Oct 2008 17:24 - 1682 of 2087

I do know which one, but let's do one at a time. The other will have its day!

niceonecyril - 31 Oct 2008 08:05 - 1683 of 2087

Sharesure Like today, the start of something big? But then its is
"CRAP"

TCEI JV Block A-4 Well

Empyrean has been advised by Texas Crude Energy Inc ('TCEI') that the well has been opened to flow during testing and has flowed on a choked back basis using 10/64' choke at initial rates as high as 2.5 million cubic feet of gas per day ('mmcfgpd') and 260 barrels of oil per day ('bopd') with flow tubing pressure of 4400 psi. This equates approximately to a gas equivalent rate (10:1) of 5.1 million cubic feet of gas equivalent per day.

Flow rates over the test period have consistently been in excess of 2.0 mmcfgpd and 200 bopd using 10/64' choke. During flow back operations the well has continued to clean up. It is understood that the operator intends to continue flow back and testing for a day or so and then shut the well in temporarily while production facilities and a sales pipeline are connected to the well. Pipeline sales are typically with the well wide open at a flow tubing pressure of 1000 psi.

Preparations for the sales pipeline connection and production facility have already commenced. The pipeline and facility are expected to be connected during December 2008.

Commenting today, Empyrean Executive Director - Tom Kelly said 'This un-stimulated flow from a 1500 odd foot interval of horizontal well is a great result for the A-4 well. This further de-risks the project and provides another successful well that will shortly go into production to a sales pipeline. There is still great potential for wells that have longer horizontal completions in the productive zone to have

S'sure. OK, next please!

niceonecyril - 31 Oct 2008 08:52 - 1685 of 2087

From the above,
and has flowed on a choked back basis using 10/64' choke at initial rates as high as 2.5 million cubic feet of gas per day ('mmcfgpd') and 260 barrels of oil per day ('bopd') with flow tubing pressure of 4400 psi.
A choke of just 10 one 64th's is extremely small and 4400psi and OIL not condensate, slowly does it, "what rates once its opened up to reduce presure to say 1000psi?

bwd, We have not finished here yet - by a long way. Next week should bring further news. There are a few other prospects as well as our favourite other share which might also merit a look.
Cynic has gone very quiet; hope he closed his position.
