two prospects have been identified in the Ruvuma basin, Sudi-1 and Mikindani-1. Tullow plans to drill its first well in Tanzania, Mikindani-1, in the second half of 2009.


so drilling still a little way off, as i think TLW's first priority will be the massive and proven Jubilee field off Ghana

Still AEX should be a lot higher with their gas discoveries, increased production and future potential.

had the briefest of scans of the last figures dated April 2008 (no interim figures or even a trading update after that????) and they do not make very happy reading ...... AEX also seems to get little broker or other coverage so all in all, not surprising that sp is depressed

cynic not up to date, see interim results 29/8/08 and management satement dated 14/11/08, RNS newsflow quite good.

really? ..... went to the AEX website and there was bugger all on it, except as i have posted ..... not very efficient of them, to say the least!

just found it and thanks .... had a quick scan and must say, it would not encourage me to buy, albeit that sp in June was closer to 25p than 7p ..... when those figures were compiled, oil was surely $120/130, and it is now $55 ..... apart from anything else, Ruvuma was supposedly spoudding in "early 2009", and that looks to have been put back at least 6 months ..... would not matter much to TLW, but will sure as hell hurt AEX ..... hence the bombed out sp

Hmmmmmm can't see a clear future, at the moment they just maintain what they have, no message regarding anything new and promising and price of this shares seems to be very closely connected to price of oil and gas only:(:( I wouldn't be surprise if they will just cruise during 2009 just consuming money they get from existing explorations :(

cynic is it time to look at this minnow which has a joint venture with your favourite oily(TLW) in Tanzania? EK is long and interims due shortly.Recent placings give them sufficient cash to fund the forthcoming drilling.

Results received well, with drilling news from Egypt and Tanzania to come shortly, up 10% today.

I wouldn't put too much on for the Egyptian well, 2 dry wells already but the one with Tullow oil looks promising...but then again it could be hit or miss...500 million barrels of oil possibly...I'm in, but i'll believe it when I see it.

Nice to see this moving now. I have built up a nice sized holding in Aminex ahead of the big drill later this year. Bound to be loads of speculative money pouring in given the massive upside potential. The ongoing Egyptian well has little downside but potential for a little bit of upside, but all eyes will be on East Africa later this year.

".........The big news in the Aminex portfolio for the remainder of the year is the spudding of the Likonde-1 well in the Ruvuma Basin of Tanzania, one of the last under-explored river deltas in the world. Aminex has a 50 per cent stake in the Tullow Oil-operated project but is looking to farm this down to manage its exposure to this high impact wildcat. The Likonde well will be drilled to 3,200 metres to test multiple targets throughout the Tertiary, Cretaceous, Jurassic and Permo-Trias Karoo intervals. The well, which has the potential to hold up to 500 million barrels of oil, is expected to spud in early December........"
