thought for the day ......
it must be very likely that young george will be offering some pretty serious incentives to the north sea oil producers in the the budget this week
that being so, the likes of TLW and perhaps more so, PMO would be beneficiaries, and therefore perhaps worth a punt at the current depressed levels

cp1 - 16 Mar 2015 09:23 - 171 of 543

and if he doesn't then this could really sink along with many of its peers. Fight for survival for the indebted ones me thinks.

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 09:34 - 172 of 543

not really .... neither PMO nor TLW will go broke

cp1 - 16 Mar 2015 09:46 - 173 of 543

yeah but they may have to raise and dilute to stay afloat. Short sellers dream this oil market.

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 09:57 - 174 of 543

be careful about shorting at this level, for i don't think there is much more downside to oil

however, the likes of XEL who are not producing could certainly run into greater difficulty

mitzy - 16 Mar 2015 10:09 - 175 of 543

100p target here.

jimmy b - 16 Mar 2015 10:15 - 176 of 543

11 Mar Canaccord... 100.00 Sell
11 Mar Beaufort... N/A Speculative Buy
11 Mar Deutsche Bank 230.00 Buy
10 Mar Barclays... 270.00 Overweight
9 Mar Barclays... 270.00 Overweight
9 Mar Deutsche Bank 230.00 Buy
=================

I certainly wouldn't go by Canaccord's rec they are totally useless even if this does go down .

mitzy - 16 Mar 2015 10:17 - 177 of 543

I agree there jimmy.

aldwickk - 16 Mar 2015 12:16 - 178 of 543

HARRYCAT - 16 Mar 2015 12:17 - 179 of 543

Mostly when stocks are in a death spiral! ;o)

mitzy - 16 Mar 2015 13:46 - 180 of 543

Tell you what I going to do is wait another 3 months before buying.

cp1 - 16 Mar 2015 14:13 - 181 of 543

maybe look at LOIL if you're buying on oil price recovery hopes.

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 14:14 - 182 of 543

confess i've never traded ETFs though very occasionally dabble in sector indices

skinny - 16 Mar 2015 14:19 - 183 of 543

If a discovery is made in the Falklands, PMO should rise : several weeks to wait for the first well result I presume and at the moment with crude dropping : probably has not reached the bottom yet....when you think this was £10 plus at one time....

mitzy - 16 Mar 2015 20:03 - 185 of 543

Was it ..?

I thought it made 500p top.

required field - 16 Mar 2015 20:33 - 186 of 543

Checking the charts...looks like you're right mitzy 520p....there were other north sea oilies that went above 10 pounds....

skinny - 17 Mar 2015 12:35 - 187 of 543

Quite a strong bounce atm.
