Marchpole - Nice New Clothes (MPH)

Socrates - 30 May 2003 18:58

Marchpole is one of those stocks which have had a really bad time. Boardroom battles, losses, price collapse, profit warnings up the ying yang.

Now all of those things seem to be sorted out, new management are getting to grips, new contracts and the price is on the up. So much so that Monday ought to see a 50/200 day MA golden cross.

DYOR of course, but I think I will be putting a few of these away at the open.

Bit miffed about missing chance to buy at under 30p the other day, not sure now whether this is going to drift down to that level again. Thinking about adding right this minute, whats a penny when these are likely to be 40p+ come interims next month.

Blow it, thats my 7,000 at 32.25 :-)

NMI results look good

Capa, Snap! Felt the same last week, waited for a pullback, didn't happen so took the chance and bought more. Over the last few days, end of last week, some decent sized buys. The way I saw it was long term hold for me so what was a penny or two!

Gav, agree totally. Nice to buy at the bottom of a dip but how many times to you get it right? Best to look at the wider picture and buy on value and if a dip occurs all the better.

My holding on these is 67,000 now at an average of 25p, started buying at 18.25p and been averaging up ever since. :-)

Looks like that T trade was holding things up, should get motoring now.

Capa, nice holding you have. Hard to call the top or bottom in any share, but it is good to buy the dips, especially here! :-)

Nice to get that T trade out of the way, some more upside today I think.

Good to end the day on a closing high. Not long before interims.

Funny that it seems to have been driven by sells?Do you know when interims are due?

capa - 05 Oct 2004 16:58 - 178 of 715

willfagg, nothing been announced yet but last year they were on the 22nd so expecting something similar.

Many thanks Capa, only bought yesterday so was pleased with the immediate move in the right direction. Lets hope i have brought it luck

Good rise towards the end of the day, should be interesting tomorrow. Results getting nearer so perhaps the T+ traders will be getting in soon.

willfagg - 05 Oct 2004 23:25 - 181 of 715

do we know when results are due?

gavdfc - 06 Oct 2004 07:29 - 182 of 715

They should release an RNS announcing when they will be released. But as Capa says, last years was 22/10.

capa - 06 Oct 2004 15:29 - 183 of 715

Definately some interest being shown now. A 750,000 buy no less !!

Nice rise today. Good call topping up last week, glad I got some more a while ago. Happy days here.

princess - 06 Oct 2004 17:12 - 185 of 715

A heck of a lot of sales, too. A sense of foreboding is coming over me, or is it just a big raft of profit taking????

Reassurance required, but will have to wait to see how it starts the day tomorrow.

princess - 06 Oct 2004 17:14 - 186 of 715

Capa, according to my screen, that 750,000 was a sell, not a buy. Can you clarify?

capa - 07 Oct 2004 08:19 - 187 of 715

princess., if you look at the time of the trade you can see that it was definately a buy. It showed up on the screen an hour or so after the transaction and the computer stuck in the sell column due to the prices at the time of entering.

Thanks capa. You're quite right, of course, and what a good start to the day!

gavdfc - 07 Oct 2004 08:56 - 189 of 715

Cracking start to the day, up again. Agree the trade from yesterday looked like a delayed buy to me.
