hi soul* ..... as i mentioned to you, the figures will assuredly be terrific, but they are already well flagged ..... for myself, i shall wait until after they are announced as i do not feel the odds are well stacked at the moment for continuing upward spiral.

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 11:49 - 172 of 301

We shall see - I'm still young and dumb enough that I have to try everything out and sometimes learn the hard way :o)

soul traders - 22 Aug 2006 11:53 - 173 of 301

got in at 80p including costs, anyway!

PS I don't know much about RSI's, not being a particularly dedicated technical analyst. However, I would have thought that amongst the smaller caps, the RSI tends to be less applicable due to the obvious volatility inherent in such stocks. It would be another thing to compare, say, FTSE-100 stocks with the index as that would compare like with like. What do you think?

cynic - 22 Aug 2006 12:00 - 174 of 301

I am no analyst either, but RSI must have relevance whatever the stock ..... with RSI for VLK standing at 80, my view is that one needs to be quite or even pretty brave to dive in now.... of course, it may be that the figures are just so stunning that any profit-taking is easily absorbed, but surely the odds do not favour that?

MULTIMILLION DOLLAR US DEAL FOR LINK-XP WIRELESS CAMERA SYSTEMS

Aerial Video Systems (AVS) has placed a multi-million dollar order with Microwave Radio Communications (MRC) for the LinkXP wireless camera systems supplied by Link Research Ltd (Link). Both MRC and Link are Vislink plc companies. This transaction is part of the Sprint 2 GHz relocation program under way in the US.

The AVS order will make the company the largest provider of LinkXP systems in the world. This investment will enable the company to make even greater strides in the delivery of live content programming to customers around the world.

AVS took delivery of its first LinkXP systems two years ago and was the first customer in the United States to order the Link HD wireless camera systems. In a bit of history, AVS was the first to successfully demonstrate a high definition wireless camera system in the United States at a Monday Night Football game in December 2005. Since then AVS has covered numerous live events with the AVS/Link HD camera system such as the Super Bowl, NBA playoffs and finals and the Academy Awards.

AVS has always been about being on the technological cutting edge and our continuing partnership with Link will further that mission, stated Randy Hermes, president and CEO of Aerial Video Systems.

AVS is based in Burbank, California and specializes in next generation camera and video solutions and has been recognized with seven Emmy Awards for technical achievement.

Results due out tomorrow?

PapalPower - 29 Aug 2006 11:17 - 177 of 301

Yes, will be a good read.

soul traders - 30 Aug 2006 10:36 - 178 of 301

Results are here. SP down slightly on profit-taking, but FWIW only 0.32% of the shares in issue have been shifted so far today, so there has not been much of a rush in either direction, as it would appear.

Here is the results summary:

Vislink plc

Interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2006

Vislink plc ('The Group'), a leading supplier of microwave radio and satellite
transmission products for the broadcast and security markets and of CCTV systems
for the marine security market has today announced its interim results for the
six months to 30 June 2006.

Financial summary
---------------------------- -------- -----------
For the six months ended 30 June 2006 2005
'000 '000
---------------------------- -------- -----------
Revenue 50,764 35,753
Operating profit 6,234 2,527
Adjusted* operating profit 6,910 3,046
Profit before taxation 6,076 2,092
Earnings per share - basic 2.73p 1.07p
Adjusted* earnings per share - basic 3.08p 1.33p
---------------------------- -------- -----------

PapalPower - 30 Aug 2006 10:38 - 179 of 301

A very good set of results, the buyers will be back later in the this week or next, once the profit takers have moved on.

soul traders - 30 Aug 2006 10:46 - 180 of 301

And here a breakdown of earnings per share:

CONSOLIDATED GROUP INCOME STATEMENT
for the six months ended 30 June 2006

Six months Six months Year ended
to 30 June to 30 June 31 December
2006 2005 2005
(Unaudited) (Unaudited) (Audited)

Earnings per share expressed
in pence per share:
From continuing operations
- basic 6 2.73p 1.07p 2.66p
From continuing operations
- diluted 6 2.68p 1.06p 2.62p

Taking the diluted earnings as datum, and doing a swift calculation, that gives EPS for the last twelve reported months (i.e. H2 2005 plus H1 2006) of 4.24p. At current SP of 77p that gives a PE of 18.16

It's worth noting also that EPS for H1 2006 is greater than that for the whole of 2005.

If we can assume that in FY 2006 5p EPS is reached, then the forward PE to year end is only 15.4, which seems to me to be undemanding for a company whose earnings are basically doubling.

However, there has been an almost uninterrupted 200% rise (i.e. three times original price) in the SP over the space of approx 2 years, so it is unsurprising that one or two are choosing to bank their profits now.

I'd be interested to see what opinions will be offered up by the analysts over the coming days, as I would expect this still to be rated a buy.

all IMO, PDYOR, contradictory views welcome.

I agree your sentiment in post 179, PP.

soul traders - 30 Aug 2006 11:06 - 182 of 301

FWIW, just found this forthcoming EPS estimate on FT.com:

Earnings (pence per share)
Year Ending Dec-06 5.80
Year Ending Dec-07 5.80

Naturally one hopes they may be revising that 2007 estimate upwards. 2006 looks good!

PapalPower - 01 Sep 2006 08:28 - 183 of 301

Looking very good :)

soul traders - 01 Sep 2006 10:50 - 184 of 301

Yep - I'm in profit on the deal I did the other day (by the narrowest of margins!) and we have a new all-time high for the SP! (if you ignore that alleged purchase yesterday of 10,000 at 117p, which I cannot take seriously)

Nice piece in this morning's Daily Mail

BUOYANT Vislink boss lan Scott-Gall flies to Amsterdam next week to bang the drum at the International Broadcast Convention. He should pick up more industry sales for the broadcast, security and marine CCTV group's equipment. First-half profits soared 190pc to a record 6.1m on sales 42pc up at 50.8m. Investec forecasts 12.7m for the full year and says buy. Shares eased 1'/2p to 76'/2p due to profit-taking.

Seems to be getting better! "

IBC, the biggest European broadcast trade show hosted annually in Amsterdam, concluded last week with orders taken on the Vislink stand and the successful launch of several innovative new products.

Advent introduced its dual-purpose "Advent FlyDrive" satellite terminal designed to meet customer needs for flexibility, ease of use and rapid deployment in the news gathering market, and the 5000 series electronics developed in partnership with Link provides subsystems with enhanced feature sets.

Just received today :

CTV, the largest outside broadcast company in the UK, used nine LinkHD wireless camera systems for its live coverage of the Ryder Cup that concluded yesterday with victory celebrations for the European team.

The tournament was the largest and most challenging deployment so far of High Definition cameras using wireless links, and the course at the K Club in Straffan (Eire) provided a demanding environment for RF with its unique treelines, foliage and water obstacles.

The SP seems to be ending the week heading in the right direction. Consolidation over 80p next week?
