Lets hope to see if Loligo turns out to be Campos Basin "2"...

cynic - 13 Sep 2012 07:37 - 1718 of 2393

odds remain heavily in favour of it being more like oklahoma in 30s

This is such an important drill that some news must filter through at some stage....

gildph - 13 Sep 2012 08:24 - 1723 of 2393

At least there is still some hope!! We'll all know within the next few days either way!!

So Pro if CC is right what price we looking at?

And if he's wrong what price we looking at? i.e what premium over cash for next drill?

The EIS stated 45 days of drilling operations (thats drilling and wireline).

3rd of August spud to 14th September is day 43.

So it is very close now to the EIS estimate.

Open hole logging will be complete now. They know if they have something that looks good, or nothing at all.

If there is something good we might get an initial wireline logging RNS and like RKH did after their initial RNS, they will give another update a week later once all the wireline/sidewall coring has been done.

By my estimate they will finish the total wireline ops late next week (around day 50) and then 2 weeks of PA will see the rig ready to move about day 62 of well operations (not far past the 60 day estimate in the spud RNS).

Then onward to Scotia.

But of course, if its a duster they will be moving on quicker than that to Scotia.

gildph - at this stage no estimates from me - I want to see the news - then we can speculate up or down.

markymar - 13 Sep 2012 08:36 - 1726 of 2393

looks like it will break 80p

HARRYCAT - 13 Sep 2012 08:44 - 1727 of 2393

I suppose there is a danger that there may be a bit of a selloff tomorrow, if no news in the meantime, as holding stock or an open position over the w/e might prove too risky?

Proselenes - 13 Sep 2012 09:32 - 1728 of 2393

The RAB statement today was interesting - in effect saying they have not sold, Monday was just crazy (or not?) PI's selling on unfounded rumours.

The plot thickens............

cynic - 13 Sep 2012 09:35 - 1729 of 2393

don't forget that just before the rns, sp was range-bound between 88 and 94, so you need to bear that in mind before you all get over-excited

Falkland Oil and Gas continues miraculous recovery

Posted on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 8:54AM

24 hours ago, Falkland Oil and Gas was sitting below 60p, right now its up 8% to 79.5p or over 30% in a day. On Monday lunchtime the company issued a drilling update which precipitated a fall for the day from the 90’s to the low 60p range (with 57p at its low) - the wording of the RNS was interpreted that no hydrocarbons had been found despite the fact that the Loligo well had still not reached target depth. The key word is “interpretation” since the FOGL board actually said very little. For whatever reason, a major holder of the shares decided to dump a significant volume and after Range Resources and Chariot’s recent duster’s where the big seller started, the private investor followed.

With news due on Friday or Monday with the final wireline logging result, this could be the most dramatic manipulation of AIM ever if the result turns out to be positive or yet another example of a stampede on sentiment (positive and negative). Watching from the sidelines here, but fascinating to see what happens with this one. Will it be a Desire or a Rockhopper??

cynic - 13 Sep 2012 09:49 - 1731 of 2393

miraculous bullshit! ...... there is no impetus at all this morning and indeed the current order book is currently weighted in favour of sellers ...... foolhardy to short, but it's still probably the better bet if gamble you must
