Small article about the possible deal with HER in the FT today.

Would of hoped for a little more movement today after news of HER

How does Pipex propose paying for HER.Will they be coming back to the market for more money????

As i understand it, the offer is cash

It is a cash offer and if Pipex get HER for the price they are looking at (2.5p per share), it will be a real bargain because HER are doing well and the deal will open many doors straight into Europe.

Added again today. The results should prove to be a spur on.

Host to be piped aboard

Pipex Communications was back on the move yesterday amid talk that it is close to sealing the acquisition of Host Europe, a deal which would make the firm one of the biggest listed on Aim.
According to market gossip, Pipex, run by serial entrepreneur Peter Dubens, has instructed its broker, Collins Stewart, to raise about 31m by way of a share placing to pay for Host. If Mr Dubens pulls off the deal Pipex, a broadband interest and telecoms company, would have a market capitalisation of about 230m.
However, traders reckon Pipex has no plans to seek a main market listing at the moment.
Pipex shares closed 3.4% higher at 11.37p last night, while Host Europe rose 1% to 2.36p.

Talk that Pipex Communications, the internet service provider, will unveil a share placing tomorrow to fund the purchase of Host Europe, 0.04p dearer at 2.36p, helped its shares up 0.37p at 11.17p.

What is the market capitalisation now compared to the projected cap of 230m?
How will this affect the share price?

Moneyam quotes page shows mkt cap for PXC as 108m & for HER = 21.5m. Don't know how accurate/up todate this info is. However, it only comes to a ttl of 130m mkt cap.
Difficult to see where the projected 230m comes from ?

rememeber before further acquisitions, pipex value was 12p+ a share. now a furthur acquisition is almost definate, take your bets people, we see how far it gets..

This is how the 230m joint mkt cap comes about.
Be interesting to see where the SP now goes. I'm not going to make any upside predictions cos then the SP will dive ! :)
