Hi GF..... great! Kipper I mark ii up and running. But just for now I think the wider market is distorting the down side - as it has of course for the past months. So I must be aware of the MACD stuff but also the wider sentiment. Very difficult to trade in, but I am learning fast....

Kind regards and thanks for you generous and free advice...

Jades ( the initials of my five children - not a reference to my bejeweled character!)

goldfinger - 21 Nov 2011 03:34 - 1753 of 3532

he he yep. Im not commiting any new funds to this market jade. Not even on the short side as at sometime we will probably get an almighty 1 day bounce.

goldfinger - 22 Nov 2011 08:36 - 1754 of 3532

REMEMBER THE BEST TRADE IN A MARKET LIKE THIS CAN BE NO TRADE AT ALL.

SEADOG - 22 Nov 2011 08:56 - 1755 of 3532

Thanks for the timely reminder GF SD

cynic - 23 Nov 2011 16:26 - 1756 of 3532

you guys have been rather quiet all things considered.
tell me, for you are far more expert on these thngs than me, which of the g=following you would consider the best to short
MTC, NEXT, ASC, SGP

my inclination is NEXT, always assuming that the morning does not see a major bounce, purely because it has fallen far less than the other 3

SEADOG - 23 Nov 2011 16:59 - 1757 of 3532

Cynic,
I would go for ASC because I hold in a joint a/c and cannot deal since 19th Sept because I wait for probate on my wifes passing nearly two and a half months now and still no sign. Have held since2004 and reckon they will end up around the 6 mark
Regards SD

cynic - 23 Nov 2011 17:06 - 1758 of 3532

2.5 months is not unreasonable for grant of probate, but it has cost you dearly financially as well as emotionally - rotten times for you

SEADOG - 23 Nov 2011 18:27 - 1759 of 3532

Thank you Cynic you are 100% right, and not so cynical as tour name suggests SD

Fred1new - 23 Nov 2011 19:02 - 1760 of 3532

Seadog.

Sorry for your position.

I am not following the shares concerned.

If you haven't considered it already you could consider protecting you position with some CFDs or Sharebets.

I

Fred1new,

SEADOG - 24 Nov 2011 08:55 - 1762 of 3532

Fred1new
Thank you but I am one of the old school and do not know how to do CFD's or spreadbets but thank you for your reply SD

goldfinger - 24 Nov 2011 15:55 - 1763 of 3532

How do cyners. long time no see. Hope your OK mate.

FTSE 5100 support holding just. If we drop through that on a 48 hour basis we are doomed doomed i tell you.

Wheres the political will in the world.?

Biggest set of tossers Ive ever know continent by continent. This could have all been avoided 12 months back if they had got their house in order. Pathetic it really is.

Not only economic stress but social stress aswel with working man V working man. A working class mans biggest enemy is his next door neighbour not the true blue bloods.

They know to conquer they have to divide to rule.

I really feel sorry for some of the most unfortunate in our society. Some people are going to be put off benefit for good in a years time. Sick disabled people aswel, not the work shy with a bad back. Its sickening and all along the Bankers feel no pain at all.

Sick, sick to the core.

goldfinger - 29 Nov 2011 10:47 - 1764 of 3532

Thinking this is a suckers rally.

We shall see.

goldfinger - 30 Nov 2011 16:02 - 1765 of 3532

QE..........

So, a 'prerequisite' for stronger equity markets is obvious: more QE(s)! Will the Fed oblige? Probably. The US central bank has already ruled out hiking rates until 2013. And it will probably do 'QE3' if the SPX drops further from here. The BoE is expanding QE by 75 billion pound. But, in my opinion, the next central bank to conduct a large-scale QE is not the Fed but the ECB. The European sovereign debt crisis demands it. Starting in 3Q this year, the ECB has started buying some Italian and Spanish government bonds. It is likely continue to do so - expand, even - until the crisis subsides.

View: Equity markets are currently under stress as investor confidence is sapped by debt problems, particularly in Europe. Eurozone needs a dose of QE to buy time for a wholesale restructuring of the political framework (such as fiscal union). The longer this QE is delayed, the more uncertainties it will bring.
