dreamcatcher - 25 Aug 2011 12:58 - 1758 of 5221

A blowout preventer is a large, specialized valve used to seal, control and monitor oil and gas wells. Blowout preventers were developed to cope with extreme erratic pressures and uncontrolled flow (formation kick) emanating from a well reservoir during drilling. Kicks can lead to a potentially catastrophic event known as a blowout. In addition to controlling the downhole (occurring in the drilled hole) pressure and the flow of oil and gas, blowout preventers are intended to prevent tubing (e.g. drill pipe and well casing), tools and drilling fluid from being blown out of the wellbore (also known as bore hole, the hole leading to the reservoir) when a blowout threatens. Blowout preventers are critical to the safety of crew, rig (the equipment system used to drill a wellbore) and environment, and to the monitoring and maintenance of well integrity; thus blowout preventers are intended to be fail-safe devices.

Take it we play the waiting game!!!!!

HARRYCAT - 25 Aug 2011 14:21 - 1760 of 5221

The market seems underwhelmed by the RNS, so 10p here we come, imo.

dreamcatcher - 25 Aug 2011 14:24 - 1761 of 5221

Range will hold up better then RMP,with other news due.

dreamcatcher - 25 Aug 2011 18:36 - 1762 of 5221

Do not think the market today was over impressed with the rns. Nothing really new, or that was not known. No TT news given. I thought the drill was further advanced then 7oomtrs, only 20% of the way. May be the very back end of Sept to reach 3500mtrs
or even Oct. 36 days to end of sept, with 28oomtrs to go = 77.5 mtrs a day to achieve this. It would be better for Range to stop giving timetables to the market,
perhaps to impress. Then let the timescales elapse giving disappointment.Which seemed to happen today. Perhaps the market was looking for news on gas as well.

HARRYCAT - 25 Aug 2011 22:18 - 1764 of 5221

"Just hold"..... until when? Disciplined traders would have been stopped out ages ago and moved on until the trend changes.
Interesting that you didn't address the 'traded down' issue.

gibby - 26 Aug 2011 00:43 - 1765 of 5221

watch and learn my friend

dreamcatcher - 26 Aug 2011 06:09 - 1766 of 5221

RRL up 2.63% on the ASX

Chris Carson - 26 Aug 2011 07:50 - 1767 of 5221

Dreamcatcher - You mentioned about 50 odd posts ago that if RRL dropped by 1p then the cost to you was 3k. If as you say you made money (you didn't exactly specify price you exited and it's none of anyones business either) then presumably you are gambling with the profit you made? Question is what price did you buy back? I agree with Harry with regard to disciplined trading, but I can see the logic at these prices, balanced risk given past performance. Do you actually have a stop or are you prepared to gamble to zero?

dreamcatcher - 26 Aug 2011 12:38 - 1768 of 5221

I have a set Amount i keep, which were purchased
. Also had some i day traded with..

required field - 26 Aug 2011 12:53 - 1769 of 5221

I'm at a loss, but the company has so many assets and even though it might not come right on the georgian drilling, it is backed up by other superb prospects, and the upside in the event of a strike is huge so ; you have to weigh in the pros and cons....for me a good mid-term punt 1 or 2 years this one....yep! it could go ballistic....but at these prices I don't think you can go far wrong with a punt here...

dreamcatcher - 26 Aug 2011 12:57 - 1770 of 5221

Agree required field.

Chris Carson - 26 Aug 2011 13:07 - 1771 of 5221

Thanks guys, got me thinking, on my watch list. Could be worth a punt below 10p long term.

dreamcatcher - 26 Aug 2011 15:55 - 1772 of 5221

recovering

dreamcatcher - 26 Aug 2011 15:57 - 1773 of 5221

Good buying, recovering.

dreamcatcher - 26 Aug 2011 15:59 - 1774 of 5221

Lets see if you get your 10p Chris. I will keep my thoughts to myself.lol
May be another day.

3 monkies - 26 Aug 2011 16:02 - 1775 of 5221

Under 15p has been bad enough please don't say under 10p - things in general are bad enough - going to take dog out before it rains again so lets hope they have fully recovered on my return!!!!

dreamcatcher - 26 Aug 2011 16:07 - 1776 of 5221
